Effects of a Combination of Phytoestrogens on Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Diseases in Climacteric Women: A Randomized, Placebo-controlled Trial

Background & Aims: The incidence of cardiovascular disease in climacteric women has increased, becoming the main cause of death in mature women. The use of phytoestrogens, isoflavones, and lignans derived from soy and flaxseed can be natural alternative treatments for this phase of life. This study investigates the utility of isoflavones and lignans derived from soy and flaxseed as natural alternatives to pharmaceuticals to alleviate the symptoms of menopause. Methods: A clinical, prospective, randomized, blind, placebo-controlled trial was performed. For-ty-eight women aged 40 to 65 years were divided into two groups, Phytoestrogen (PHY), which received a cereal bar containing isoflavones and lignans for 90 days, and Placebo (PLA), which received expanded rice flake bar. The sociodemographic, clinical, anthropometric data, blood pressure (BP) measurements, and biochemical and hormonal tests were performed. Results: Forty-three women were included in this study (PHY=21 and PLA=22). There was a significant reduction in diastolic BP in the PHY group after the intervention (p<0.001). The frequen-cy of BP fluctuations in the PHY group significantly decreased to 23.8% after the intervention period (p=0.027), with no significant differences for the other indicators studied. Conclusion: The combination of phytoestrogens showed a trend in reducing the blood pressure of climacteric women. However, no significant changes in cardiovascular risk factors were observed. Hoaxes are something that can not be avoided, especially in Indonesia, where the literacy rate in Indonesia is quite low, they are easy to believe in news without doing fact check. The worst thing is that news that is trusted by the public may not be read completely through the entire content. They believe, from the title alone could already covers the entire content of the news. Media in the other side, are also competing to make controversial titles so that their traffic is improved. The research that will be carried out by us is where we can classify a news whether it is a fact or a hoax from the title alone. The RoBERTa (A Robustly Optimized BERT Pretraining Approach) model will be used in this study, because in several previous studies RoBERTa has proven to be good for classification. The accuracy achieved in this study also reached 99.52% with an accuracy validation of 93.84% which shows that even with an imbalanced dataset the classification shows a promising result by using the RoBERTa model which data is balanced using the undersampling method. © 2022 IEEE.

Depression is a disease that affects everyone, both young and old. This mental illness not only affects the surrounding environment but everyone. Depression is characterized by deep sadness, behavioral changes and many other actions that are risky for people. In this research we try to solve the problem of detecting depression using Natural Language Processing (NLP) approaches, these two methods are Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) and Robustly Optimized BERT Approach (RoBERTa), where these two methods are used to detect posts made in reddit. The dataset is taken from Kaggle. The results obtained found that the average use of BERT and RoBERTa resulted in a high accuracy value of around 98% and with a well balanced precision, recall and F1-Score ratio. This research shows that there is a possibility of using BERT and RoBERTa in depression detection. © 2024 The Authors.

Recently, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) has been deployed for power demand distribution and energy saving, and correspondingly traditional watt-hour meters installed in apartments and industrial sites are also being replaced with AMIs. Accordingly, power demand prediction using AMIs will become increasingly important to save electrical energy consumption. In this paper, we develop various deep learning-based electricity consumption prediction models using simple neural networks, convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, and encoder-decoder-based generative models. To build prediction models, we use average power demand data collected from various home smart meters. Experimental results show that the generative model outperforms other deep learning-based models in terms of mean squared error, and we roughly explain why the generative model is better than other models by examining the activation layer output distributions. © 2022 Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers. Cardiovascular disease is one of the dangerous non-communicable disorders or diseases that has become one of the causes of death worldwide. Various studies have been conducted to prevent cardiovascular disease in the world. This study analyzed cardiovascular disease medical record data from the Kaggle public dataset by implementing correlational analysis combined with association rule mining to identify variables that are the predominant cause of cardiovascular disease. Correlational analysis can analyze the interrelationships between variables in a dataset, but not in depth. Association rule mining can identify the interrelationships of variables in the form of frequent item sets, which can be calculated for their support and confidence values. The result of this study is a combination of correlation analysis with association rule mining that can identify predominant variables to cause cardiovascular disease. The summarization technologies have been increasingly used in recent decades. Those technologies are a very important part of emerging topics in computer science and engineering, such that Natural Language Processing (NLP). Several methods have been used for analysis to get good summary results. There are two types of document summaries: single document summaries and multi-document summaries. Single document summaries aim to extract information from a single document to get new and relevant summary information, while multi-document summaries extract information from multiple documents. This study focuses on the activities of the semantic literature in previous studies to obtain the basis of the widely used base methods and data sets used in this study. Data was collected from Scopus publication sources from 2019 until 2022 Q2 for analysis. Researchers use guidelines from the semantic literature method by using the basis of Kitchenham and Charters as a reference in its design. In this study, there were forty-eight articles obtained from the filtering results of several criteria used, including exclusion and quality assessment. © 2022 IEEE.

Classification of Indonesian crops is a critical task in developing farming and getting more understanding of agriculture. However, there is no clear task in classifying types of crops in Indonesia. Transfer learning has been used successfully in a variety of image classification applications. Thus, in this paper, we collected images of Indonesian crops from the internet randomly and proposed a classification by using transfer learning of deep learning with four pre-trained models: EffficientNetB0, ResNet18, VGG19, and AlexNet. In the experiment, augmentation techniques such as random horizontal flip, random vertical flip, and random affine were utilized to prevent the network from overfitting. The result found that EfficientNet-B0 outperformed other models with an accuracy of 82.55. Then, the model struggled to distinguish between crops in the same family. According to the results, although transfer learning can work well to classify images of Indonesian agricultural crops, some improvements are still required to address existing issues. © 2023 The Authors. Examining topic-level variability in modeling Twitter data can potentially yield more comprehensive insights into public perception during critical periods, thereby enhancing natural disaster mitigation and surveillance efforts. In this study, we utilized generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) to illustrate the variability in tweet counts related to specific topics in Indonesia during the flood events that occurred in February 2021. The glmmTMB library in R was employed for this purpose. The data were assumed to follow two distinct exponential distributions: Poisson and Negative Binomial. To incorporate random effects, random intercepts and random slopes were introduced, allowing them to vary randomly across topics in the initial two models. Additionally, the final model addressed issues related to dispersion and zero-inflation. By evaluating the Akaike Information Criteria scores, we determined that a model based on the Negative Binomial distribution with random zero-inflation intercepts best fit the data. The chosen model formulation and the estimated parameters have the potential to forecast topic-specific trends in Indonesian flood-related Twitter data. © 2023 The Authors. In hybrid cloud-edge systems, data processing is distributed between cloud servers and edge servers, this makes data serialization critical for efficient data transfer between servers. This study evaluates the efficiency of multi-language data serialization of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in a hybrid cloud-edge environment. Because lack of existing studies that specifically evaluate multi-language data serialization for hybrid cloud-edge HRIS, this study conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to get the list of current state of the art of data serialization methods and then used this result to evaluate the methods. By focusing on HRIS employee data from the employee management module, this study measures both data serialization and deserialization using performance metrics of time, data size, and CPU usage. The results indicate that no methods excel in all metrics, but FlatBuffers, Protocol Buffer, and Apache Avro can provide balanced effectivity across the metrics. The study gives valuable insight for selecting data serialization methods, architecture, and systems requirements in hybrid cloud-edge HRIS to ensure the performance efficiency of the system.

The voice patterns of gender and age have been used as speaker's identity and implied into sectors such as smart cards, healthcare, banking, and other security access controls. However, age, illness, and ambient noise factors exist challenging issues of voice changes in speech recognition systems to be resolved. This paper presents experiment results of observing those issues, and its goal was obtaining the elements of voice features to secure the speaker's identity. Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) was used to conduct observations on spectral centroid and bandwidth, it has effectively performed capturing features of individual speech signal. The experiment was conducted with data split into three groups: under 13, range 13 to 19, and above 19 years old for both male and female. The results showed that both gender under 13 have centroid voices reached to 98%, age of 13 to 19 remain with centroid reached 98% of bandwidth for male and passing over 100% for female, then above 19 for both genders speak lower with centroid 50% of bandwidth, and male above age of 19 remains to keep centroid about 50% and female changes to 95%. MFCC fits to expose the speech spectrum for the purpose of an analysis frame on specific local spectral properties of voices, and the finding is to form a security line or an individual profiling adoption. © 2022 IEEE.
