Cardiovascular disease is one of the dangerous non-communicable disorders or diseases that has become one of the causes of death worldwide. Various studies have been conducted to prevent cardiovascular disease in the world. This study analyzed cardiovascular disease medical record data from the Kaggle public dataset by implementing correlational analysis combined with association rule mining to identify variables that are the predominant cause of cardiovascular disease. Correlational analysis can analyze the interrelationships between variables in a dataset, but not in depth. Association rule mining can identify the interrelationships of variables in the form of frequent item sets, which can be calculated for their support and confidence values. The result of this study is a combination of correlation analysis with association rule mining that can identify predominant variables to cause cardiovascular disease. PUF (Physically Unclonable Function) utilizing the physical characteristics of semiconductors has been attracting an attention as the LSI individual identification technology. This technology is expected to make it possible to authenticate genuine products and prevent the distribution of counterfeit products. On the other hand, IoT devices used in sensor nodes, are required to operate for a long period of time with limited power, so low power consumption is important. LRPUF (Leak Racing PUF) was proposed a leakage based PUF composed of digital circuits, but there is a problem of large power consumption. It has also been reported that PUF performance, such as uniqueness, uniformity and reliability, degrades significantly when operated at ultra-low voltages to reduce power consumption. In this paper, in order to improve the performance of LRPUF under ultra-low voltage, we propose an optimal LRPUF circuit for ultra-low voltage operation. By using design-of-experiments, we identified the PMOS gate width and body bias as high-impact factors on performance. Based an this finding, we conducted circuit optimization. Evaluation through simulation demonstrated that the proposed PUF achieved the uniqueness of 50.0%, the uniformity of 50.4%, and the reliability of 98.9% at the supply voltage 0.4V. © 2023 IEEE.

When processing datasets in diabetes classification, common problems included a large number of missing values, outliers, and dataset imbalance. To deal with those issues, this study analyzed 18 studies on diabetes classification with machine learning algorithms over the past 5 years. This revealed the important role of data pre-processing in creating effective classification models, as it was found that by using different data pre-processing techniques, the same model can provide different performance. The study identified K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and support vector machine (SVM) as superior methods for filling in missing values, achieving an accuracy of 98.49% and 94.89%, respectively. These approaches outperformed traditional methods such as median or mean replacement. However, the challenge of imbalanced data sets remains in all studies reviewed. The common evaluation metrics used to evaluate the created models in previous studies included accuracy, precision, specificity, sensitivity/recall, and F1 Score. Overall, this review showed that the role of data pre-processing is no less important than algorithm selection to improve the performance of machine learning models in diabetes classification. © 2024 The Authors.

Supplier evaluation has a crucial role in maintaining efficiency in the food industry supply chain. Machine learning approaches can be employed to formulate models aimed at analyzing and evaluating supplier performance. Previous research has successfully designed decision tree and neural network models for assessing suppliers in the food industry with accuracies of 84.2% and 92.8% separately. Recognizing the opportunity to improve the model's performance, this study aims to advancing the machine learning models accuracy for analyzing and evaluating suppliers in the food industry. Two main models are proposed to enhance model accuracy: ensemble methods and support vector machine. This research has successfully designed a supplier evaluation model and demonstrated that the ensemble method - gradient boosting model outperforms other ensemble methods and support vector machine which is achieved a accuracy of 93.6% on a cross-validation dataset. The development of a dashboard is required to implement the supplier evaluation model using machine learning, facilitating decision-makers in evaluating and controlling supplier performance. © 2023 The Authors. Electrodermal activity (EDA) is a general term for all electrical phenomena occurring on the skin, both passive and active. EDA measurements are used by researchers to measure levels of stress, emotion, mental strain, and so on. Measuring human stress levels, emotions, and mental strain are generally associated with the skin conductance response. The function GSR sensor is not only used to read people's psychology but also can be used as a pain sensor used to read the degree of pain in the skin. This pilot study uses sample data from ***. The *** data is galvanic skin response sensor data. The output of this sensor is the conductivity value that occurs in the skin. The data obtained from *** will be extracted using the mean, standard deviation, maximum, minimum, RMS, skewness, and peak-to-peak characteristics. The extracted functions are selected using the forward selection method. The results of the feature selection are three features with an accuracy percentage greater than 50%, namely the mean feature, the RMS feature, and the skewness feature. The machine learning models used are bagged tree, SVM, and K-NN models. Of the three models used, the bagged tree model has the highest accuracy rate, at 98.05%, with an F1 score is 0.9807. The KNN model with k=10 has the lowest level of accuracy compared to other models, at 96.75%. © 2023 IEEE.

Applying Segment-Level Attention on Bi-Modal Transformer Encoder for Audio-Visual Emotion Recognition

Emotions can be expressed through multiple complementary modalities. This study selected speech and facial expressions as modalities by which to recognize emotions. Current audiovisual emotion recognition models perform supervised learning using signal-level inputs. Such models are presumed to characterize the temporal relationships in signals. In this study, supervised learning was performed on segment-level signals, which are more granular than signal-level signals, to precisely train an emotion recognition model. Effectively fusing multimodal signals is challenging. In this study, sequential segments of audiovisual signals were obtained, and features were extracted and applied to estimate segment-level attention weights according to the emotional consistency of the two modalities using a neural tensor network. A proposed bimodal Transformer Encoder was trained using signal-level and segment-level emotion labels in which temporal context was incorporated into the signals to improve upon existing emotion recognition models. In bimodal emotion recognition, the experimental results demonstrated that the proposed method achieved 74.31% accuracy (3.05% higher than the method of fusing correlation features) on the audio-visual emotion dataset BAUM-1, which is based on fivefold cross-validation, and 76.81% accuracy (2.57% higher than the Multimodal Transformer Encoder) on the multimodal emotion data set CMU-MOSEI, which is composed of training, validation, and testing sets. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Early detection of the risk of sarcopenia at younger ages is crucial for implementing preventive strategies, fostering healthy muscle development, and minimizing the negative impact of sarcopenia on health and aging. In this study, we propose a novel sarcopenia risk detection technique that combines surface electromyography (sEMG) signals and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) with machine learning algorithms. First, we recorded and preprocessed sEMG data from both healthy and at-risk individuals during various physical activities, including normal walking, fast walking, performing a standard squat, and performing a wide squat. Next, electromyography (EMG) features were extracted from a normalized EMG and its intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) were obtained through EMD. Subsequently, a minimum redundancy maximum relevance (mRMR) feature selection method was employed to identify the most influential subset of features. Finally, the performances of state-of-the-art machine learning (ML) classifiers were evaluated using a leave-one-subject-out cross-validation technique, and the effectiveness of the classifiers for sarcopenia risk classification was assessed through various performance metrics. The proposed method shows a high accuracy, with accuracy rates of 0.88 for normal walking, 0.89 for fast walking, 0.81 for a standard squat, and 0.80 for a wide squat, providing reliable identification of sarcopenia risk during physical activities. Beyond early sarcopenia risk detection, this sEMG-EMD-ML system offers practical values for assessing muscle function, muscle health monitoring, and managing muscle quality for an improved daily life and well-being. © 2024 American Institute of Mathematical sciences. This research explores the optimization of digital talent in advanced industries, particularly in the context of rapid digital transformation. Despite the increasing importance of digital talent for gaining a competitive edge, several challenges persist. In Indonesia, for example, there is a significant shortage of digitally skilled workers, with the World Bank reporting a gap of 9 million skilled individuals over the past 15 years. Additionally, artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to impact 9.5 million jobs, further exacerbating the demand for digital skills. Furthermore, the employability of graduates remains low, largely due to inadequate training, poor language proficiency, and limited cultural sensitivity. Many companies face difficulties in finding qualified individuals, quickly upskilling their workforce, and fostering an innovative organizational culture. This study seeks to evaluate the factors influencing digital talent performance in the context of these challenges. It examines seven key variables: digital readiness, digital technology adoption, relevance of AI, digital skills, individual performance, problem-solving ability, and overall digital talent performance. Hypotheses were tested using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data was collected from 378 participants, primarily students with STEM backgrounds, in the Jabodetabek area of Indonesia in November 2024. The findings reveal that all hypotheses are significant, with results indicating that user satisfaction and the perceived value of digital talent in Indonesia have a notable impact on continued usage intentions in digital roles. © 2024 IEEE.

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that can attack the lungs and other organs. In the diagnosis of TB, the interpretation of X-ray radiological images requires special skills from medical specialists. However, the lack of experience of medical personnel and focus on X-ray examinations can be a challenge for radiologists because it has the potential to cause diagnostic errors in image interpretation. Therefore, we proposed a web-based application of real-time chest X-ray interpreter by integrating the deep learning model of Vision Transformer (ViT) to interpret chest X-ray images. The inference model was trained and tested on 652 normal and 652 tuberculosis X-ray images. The data preprocessing of Contrast Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) was implemented to increase chest X-ray image contrast as well as inference model performance. The proposed real time system can inteprete the tested chest x-ray images with an accuracy of 95% and with simulation duration time of 4.7 seconds. © 2024 IEEE.

Malaria is a severe disease caused by parasites of the genus Plasmodium, which are transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected female Anopheles mosquito. Symptoms of malaria begin to appear at least within 10 to 15 days. If malaria is not treated immediately, it is feared that it will cause respiratory problems, shortness of breath, and death. To avoid the occurrence of these events, the idea arose to create an AI (Artificial Intelligence) project that can recognize the presence of malaria parasites in blood cells. Thus, the main objective of this project is to find out how to create a Machine Learning model that can efficiently identify malaria parasites in the human body. The AI project uses CNN (Convolutional Neural network) as an algorithm to recognize the presence or absence of parasites in blood cell images that will be inputted by the user. Process of implementing CNN, using VGG19 which is an advanced CNN that has pre-trained layers and a good understanding of describing an image, both the shape, color, and structure of the image. After implementing the Transfer Learning algorithm on the dataset, the result is a Transfer Learning algorithm that can detect the presence of Malaria parasites in blood cells with an accuracy rate of 92 percent a specificity of 95 percent, and a sensitivity of 89 percent. The accuracy can still increase depending on the diversity of the data provided. The more often we train and input test data as train data, the accuracy of AI will also increase. © 2023 IEEE.
