This paper proposes a new method for estimating the attributes of a pedestrian, e.g. an office worker or a student, from the pedestrian's clothing and, based on the estimation results, a method for efficiently navigating an autonomous mobile robot while safely avoiding pedestrians. The robot can estimate the organization the pedestrians belong to by learning in advance the clothing of pedestrians that frequently appear in the city in which the is travelling, e.g. the uniforms of certain high school students. Furthermore, the robot is given the direction in which the person in that organization is likely to be heading at the current time, so it uses this information to estimate the future walking trajectory of that pedestrian and design a running path that is less likely to prevent that pedestrian from walking. We use the artificial potential method to design the robot's running trajectory. Even if pedestrians with different attributes are detected in the robot's running path, our proposed robot can efficiently reach its destination while avoiding those pedestrians appropriately in real time. The effectiveness of the proposed method was confirmed by computer simulations and subjects' experiments with our prototype robot. © 2022 IEEE.

Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content (AIGC) refers to the use of AI to automate the information creation process while fulfilling the personalized requirements of users. However, due to the instability of AIGC models, e.g., the stochastic nature of diffusion models, the quality and accuracy of the generated content can vary significantly. In wireless edge networks, the transmission of incorrectly generated content may unnecessarily consume network resources. Thus, a dynamic AIGC service provider (ASP) selection scheme is required to enable users to connect to the most suited ASP, improving the users’ satisfaction and quality of generated content. In this article, we first review the AIGC techniques and their applications in wireless networks. We then present the AIGC-as-a-service (AaaS) concept and discuss the challenges in deploying AaaS at the edge networks. Yet, it is essential to have performance metrics to evaluate the accuracy of AIGC services. Thus, we introduce several image-based perceived quality evaluation metrics. Then, we propose a general and effective model to illustrate the relationship between computational resources and user-perceived quality evaluation metrics. To achieve efficient AaaS and maximize the quality of generated content in wireless edge networks, we propose a deep reinforcement learning-enabled algorithm for the optimal ASP selection. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can provide a higher quality of generated content to users and achieve fewer crashed tasks by comparing with four benchmarks, i.e., overloading-avoidance, random, round-robin policies, and the upper-bound schemes. © 2023, CC BY.

Digital art technology is a form of technology in the form of hardware or software that can produce artistic works or practices as part of the creative process. This research is an idea about the publication of digital art technology, which shows its widespread use based on data from publications in Indonesia. This study visually maps scientific publications in digital techniques indexed with bibliometric analysis at the Indonesian state level. This study collected data from the Scopus database, used the Scopus website analysis feature, and visualized the bibliometric network using Vosviewer. The method used consists of five phases: search keyword determination, initial search results, search results refinement, preliminary compilation and data analysis. 57 academic documents published in Indonesia between 2011 and 2020 were obtained in the search for data based on the Scopus database. The processed data show patterns and trends in the increasing number of international publications in digital art technology indexed by Scopus. This study proposes a classification of the convergence axis. © 2021 IEEE.

As Metaverse emerges as the next-generation Internet paradigm, the ability to efficiently generate content is paramount. AI-Generated Content (AIGC) emerges as a key solution, yet the resource-intensive nature of large Generative AI (GAI) models presents challenges. To address this issue, we introduce an AIGC-as-a-Service (AaaS) architecture, which deploys AIGC models in wireless edge networks to ensure broad AIGC services accessibility for Metaverse users. Nonetheless, an important aspect of providing personalized user experiences requires carefully selecting AIGC Service Providers (ASPs) capable of effectively executing user tasks, which is complicated by environmental uncertainty and variability. Addressing this gap in current research, we introduce the AI-Generated Optimal Decision (AGOD) algorithm, a diffusion model-based approach for generating the optimal ASP selection decisions. Integrating AGOD with Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), we develop the Deep Diffusion Soft Actor-Critic (D2SAC) algorithm, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of ASP selection. Our comprehensive experiments demonstrate that D2SAC outperforms seven leading DRL algorithms. Furthermore, the proposed AGOD algorithm has the potential for extension to various optimization problems in wireless networks, positioning it as a promising approach for future research on AIGC-driven services. SAGE-Amine: Generative Amine design with multi-property optimization for efficient CO 2 capture

Efficient CO 2 capture is vital for mitigating climate change, with amine-based solvents being widely used due to their strong reactivity with CO 2 . However, optimizing key properties such as basicity, viscosity, and absorption capacity remains challenging, as traditional methods rely on labor-intensive experimentation and predefined chemical databases, limiting the exploration of novel solutions. Here, SAGE-Amine was introduced, a generative modeling approach that integrates Scoring-Assisted Generative Exploration (SAGE) with quantitative structure-property relationship models to design new amines tailored for CO 2 capture. Unlike conventional virtual screening restricted to existing compounds, SAGE-Amine generates novel amines by leveraging autoregressive natural language processing models trained on amine datasets. SAGE-Amine identified known amines for CO 2 capture from scratch and successfully performed single-property optimization, increasing basicity or reducing viscosity or vapor pressure. Furthermore, it facilitated multi-property optimization, simultaneously achieving high basicity with low viscosity and vapor pressure. The 10 top-ranked amines were suggested using SAGE-Amine and their thermodynamic properties were further assessed using COSMO-RS simulations, confirming their potential for CO 2 capture. These results highlight the potential of generative modeling in accelerating the discovery of amine solvents and expanding the possibilities for industrial CO 2 capture applications.

Advances in genome sequencing technologies generate massive amounts of sequence data that are increasingly analyzed and shared through public repositories. On-demand infrastructure services on cloud computing platforms enable the processing of such large-scale genomic sequence data in distributed processing environments with a significant reduction in analysis time. However, parallel processing on cloud computing platforms presents many challenges to researchers, even skillful bioinformaticians. In particular, it is difficult to design a computing architecture optimized to reduce the cost of computing and disk storage as genomic data analysis pipelines often employ many heterogeneous tools with different resource requirements. To address these issues, we developed GenomeFlow, a tool for automated development of computing architecture and resource optimization on Google Cloud Platform, which allows users to process a large number of samples at minimal cost. We outline multiple use cases of GenomeFlow demonstrating its utility to significantly reduce computing time and cost associated with analyzing genomic and transcriptomic data from hundreds to tens of thousands of samples from several consortia. Here, we describe a step-by-step protocol on how to use GenomeFlow for a common genomic data processing task. The objective of this paper is to identify the stresses placed on the musculoskeletal system when small dogs walk on floors with low friction coefficients. In many households, and small dogs in particular are often kept indoors. According to veterinary experience, it is known that small dogs kept indoors that walk with their lower limbs slipping cause a great deal of stress on the musculoskeletal system, and that the incidence of joint disease in the lower limbs of such small dogs is high. In this study, we measured the body movements of small dogs walking on slippery floors using a three-dimensional motion capture system and force plate system. Furthermore, by inputting these measurements into the musculoskeletal simulation model we have developed to simulate the musculoskeletal system of dogs, we derived the load on the musculoskeletal system of small dogs on slippery and non-slippery floors. As a result, it was identified that walking on a slippery floor causes a strong load on the lower limb muscles of small dogs.
