The Laiji's cultural heritage is rich in bamboo characteristics, but the scope of application is limited. This study uses literature analysis, participation observation, in-depth interview, and action research to analyze the existing bamboo utilization of the Laiji tribe, the bamboo artwork of craftsmen, and the experience design for bamboo. The results show that: (1) Laiji's bamboois almost exclusively used for bamboo food and the walls of the sacrificial house;(2) the sweet point is designed to be close to the natural unfixable place and spiritof the bamboo craftsmen'sguileless study of the craft;(3) the pain point of the Laiji tribe's bamboo experiencedesign is a lack of clarity, interestingness, manpower, technology, and project category. © 2017 IEEE.

This paper proposes a novel standing assistance scheme that guides a subject to adopt a suitable posture using intended movements and voice messages. In much previous research, an assistive robot requires the patient to understand the standing reference beforehand and generally, the subject learns the standing motion used by the robot. However, for practical use, a patient should be able to use an assistive robot without special prior knowledge. Nursing specialists also guide their patients with an intended movement and a voice message. For example, when they incline a patient's upper body before lifting it up, they notify the patient of a motion start with simpler words and guide the patient's body with a special moving pattern. Therefore, in this paper, we develop a standing assistance scheme that guides the patient to stand in the intended way based on skills of these nursing specialists. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by experiments with our prototype.

INTRODUCTION: Oxidative stress (OS) is implicated in dementia. While elevated peripheral OS biomarkers were observed in vascular mild cognitive impairment (vMCI), the role of central antioxidants remains unclear. We assessed levels of the major brain antioxidant glutathione (GSH) in vMCI compared to cognitively normal coronary artery disease (CAD) controls (CN). METHODS: In vivo tissue-corrected GSH in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) and occipital cortex (OC) were quantified in persons with vMCI and CN using MEscher–GArwood Point RESolved magnetic resonance Spectroscopy. RESULTS: Among participants (vMCI, n = 22, age [mean ± SD] = 67.4 ± 7.3;CN, n = 21, age = 66.7 ± 7.8), ACC-GSH (i.u. ± SD) was higher in vMCI (4.42 ± 0.59) versus CN (3.72 ± 1.01) (Z = −2.5, p =.01), even after controlling for age and sex (B [SE] = 0.74 [0.26], p =.007). Increased ACC-GSH correlated with poorer executive function (EF) (B [SE] = −0.31 [0.14], p =.04). OC-GSH showed no effect. DISCUSSION: Higher ACC-GSH in vMCI may reflect a compensatory response to OS. ACC-GSH was negatively correlated with EF, suggesting a linkage between regional brain antioxidants and disease-relevant cognitive domains. Highlights: Brain GSH was measured in vascular MCI and matched controls using MEGA-PRESS. In contrast to GSH deficits in AD, anterior cingulate GSH was elevated in vMCI. Brain GSH was correlated with disease-relevant cognitive domains in vMCI. The GSH antioxidant system may be etiologically implicated in vMCI. © 2025 The Author(s). Seeking Truth in Terrazzo: Digital Practices and Traditional Crafts

This essay poses questions about the ubiquity of terrazzo in our contemporary moment. Originally an aggregate material created by skilled craftsmen, terrazzo has since been reduced to a pattern printed on small design objects and circulated worldwide. Like wood, marble, and brick, it has been divorced from its materiality, and reduced to a reproducible graphic motif. How did terrazzo go from innocuous flooring material to icon? Why do digitally produced surfaces often imitate existing materials, rather than offering new innovative alternatives? This essay will analyze contemporary trends concerning terrazzo while considering the effects of digital practices on traditional crafts.

Sustainable environment development has become a global and popular issue. In Taiwan, regardless of public authorities or private organizations, departments often promote green buildings, green campus and other practices according based upon different sustainable plans. In 2007, the Ministry of Education promoted the green universities and formally launched the Green University Development program. Subsequently, in 2009, 13 schools jointly signed 'The Tallories Declaration' to promote the sustainable work of the Green University. Up to 2018, eight universities have entered the ranks of the world's largest green universities. For finding better sustainable development strategies to improve the Green university evaluation and environmental benefits, this study analyzes the current situation of the Green University in Taiwan and presents a trend analysis of the development of Green University assessment indicators in Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) over the years. Finally, through the analysis, the study proposes the concrete strategies for achieving green university's requirement, and proposes the key strategies of further achieving sustainable energy saving of green campus for Chaoyang University of Technology.

Cryptocurrencies prices forecasting is a complex theme due to the chaotic market behavior and the influence of external events. Therefore, inference models should offer, in addition to a satisfying accuracy, reasonable interpretability, so that investors can decide based on their own knowledge. However, many studies in this subject focus on model accuracy and leave much to be desired in terms of simplicity and interpretability. This work proposes the use of Mamdani interpretable fuzzy inference models for forecasting cryptocurrency price variation. For that, a genetic algorithm to optimize models accuracy is employed, limiting the quantity of rules and antecedents arbitrarily. A set of infeasible rules had to be discarded, in order to generate interesting models, that produce a relevant amount of trades. Data from Kraken exchange were utilized for training, validation and results assessment. Results have shown that, for the cryptocurrencies with the highest validation performances, there are gains in comparison to the simple currency appreciation. Using the interpretable aspect of the models, it should be possible to obtain even higher profits.

Modest fashion is driven by underlying Islamic mandate to preserve modesty, as laid forth in the Quran and the Sunna. Especially for women, they should cover the body from head to hands and feet. As majority religion in Indonesia, the developing of modest fashion has been growing rapidly. The appearing of new designers who create new modest fashion styles have been contributed to development of modern modest fashion. The collection of data used literature review. Literature review is the key elements in many disciplines as they provide a summary of existing evidence that is needed to inform new academic project, policy, and practice. We adopted the procedure of literature review based on theory of Webster and Richard (2002). The results of this study show that wearing an Islamic dress today is not only a fulfillment of a religious requirement but also a fashion trend. The modest fashion designers and the Hijabers Community have great influence for expansion of Indonesia's modest fashion. The media and the international fashion events make modest fashion that previously only become trend in Indonesia but nowadays become fashion trend in the international market. © 2017 IEEE.

Regarding situation of 'intangible culture inheritance and activation' of Shengzhou Bamboo Weaving of Zhejiang, this study adopts participant observation and in-depth interview. The results show that: (1) some cultural assets are recorded. Digital preservation and written books are extremely insufficient. Inheritors' following use is not satisfying;(2) policy of 'intangible culture program' is outstanding and introduction of intangible culture in elementary school curriculum revives bamboo weaving. However, it does not interact with community life;(3) bamboo weaving industry managers' creative consciousness and network resources are reinforced. However, they lack experience of cultural industry operation and regional activation. © 2017 IEEE.
