Reproducibility of computational studies is a hallmark of scientific methodology. It enables researchers to build with confidence on the methods and findings of others, reuse and extend computational pipelines, and thereby drive scientific progress. Since many experimental studies rely on computational analyses, biologists need guidance on how to set up and document reproducible data analyses or simulations. In this paper, we address several questions about reproducibility. For example, what are the technical and non-technical barriers to reproducible computational studies? What opportunities and challenges do computational notebooks offer to overcome some of these barriers? What tools are available and how can they be used effectively? We have developed a set of rules to serve as a guide to scientists with a specific focus on computational notebook systems, such as Jupyter Notebooks, which have become a tool of choice for many applications. Notebooks combine detailed workflows with narrative text and visualization of results. Combined with software repositories and open source licensing, notebooks are powerful tools for transparent, collaborative, reproducible, and reusable data analyses. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. The influence of need for touch and gender on Internet shopping attitudes among Korean consumers

The purposes of this study were to examine how need for touch is related to gender and Internet shopping attitudes among a sample of adult Korean consumers (160 men;160 women;mean age = 43.7) and to confirm if Peck and Childers’ Need For Touch (NFT) scale can be validated with adult Korean consumers. Out of nine hypotheses, seven hypotheses were fully or partially supported. Women had higher NFT than men, respectively the (a) total NFT, (b) autotelic NFT, and (c) instrumental NFT. Men had a higher instrumental NFT than autotelic NFT. Women did not differ from men in Internet shopping attitudes. Finally, Korean consumers higher (vs. lower) in total NFT and instrumental NFT (but not autotelic NFT) differed in Internet shopping attitudes related to security. Results supported propositions of consumer motivation theory and provided both academic and practical implications. © 2016, © The Textile Institute and Informa UK Ltd 2016.

With the digitization of information, planar (graphics) editing design systems have also began to emphasize interactive and innovative design. Therefore, interactive e-books have begun to be produced through Graphical User Interface in editorial design. In this study, the WIRED e-books were taken as the research sample. Then, the three aspects (form, function and behavior) were analyzed through the theory of design Core. Futhermore, the design modes of interactive e-books are investigated from the viewpoint of editing design. Regarding research methods, the visual effects of WIRED e-book editing design and interactive design were analyzed and explored through the method of content analysis. Finally, the investigated results in this study are provided to the designer engaged in the design-mode method related to interactive e-books. In addition, the editing design and interactive design of the WIRED electronic books are analyzed. There are three focuses to this study: (1) The relationship between design elements and interactive design function was investigated during editing design. (2) Through the foreign case of WIRED interactive e-books and the theory of design Core, the design thinking, interactive function and user behavior of form, function and behavior of e-books were investigated. (3) A number of design modes of interactive e-books were investigated The results of this study are expected to provide reference for interactive e-book design models and applications for enterprises, publishers, designers and school teaching. © 2016 IEEE.

Telecommunication services have faced significant improvements along the last decades, mainly related to new modulation techniques. Consequently, signals waveforms have gradually been modified. In this scenario, Electromagnetic Compatibility and, specially, Radiated Immunity tests became necessary to ensure the performance of electronic devices when exposed to such signals. Considering that the waveforms and modulations specified in Radiated Immunity standards are much simpler than those currently used in Telecommunication services, a statistical study about the impact of this difference is proposed for the 210-216 MHz frequency range. © 2016 IEEE.

Social enterprise is becoming an important concern in Taiwan recently. Many policies integrate this concept into one of the important prospective objectives, in particular support community-based organizations, all with the idea as a guide to policy goals. In this study, with liouguei district Bolia region Kaohsiung City as an example. They through the local community to rebuild communities from the land to life further raising it to respect for life and feedback the mother land. The community as a platform, resulting and then feedback to the community, creates new industrial value, the value of the formation of a model of sustainable communities. © 2016 IEEE.

This paper aims to discuss how the shaping of a city, Juiz de Fora, in Brazil, has resulted from the power of location of some social agents and from their disputes on the production of space. First, it introduces the concept of social production of space, emphasizing the role of social agents in urban processes. Then, it presents specific aspects of the history of Juiz de Fora＂ its origins and how social agents and forces have played a significant role in shaping the built environment of the city--specially represented by main streets of the city. The paper studies how the social agents, with their different visions and goals, have influenced the process of formation and development of the city. This demonstrates the complexity of the existing relationships between the built environment and the social context that is specific to the city. Different urban forces fight for city spaces, construct and modify its territory so that their needs are fulfilled. Their strength, their experiences and efforts, and their ideas of a city are inscribed in urban landscapes; in similar ways, these are revealed by the city paths we follow here.

Recently, the demand for service robots has increased and these robots have already been implemented in our daily life. Many service robots move autonomously in an environment wherein humans and robots coexist using a function to arrive at a given destination. Some studies have proposed autonomous mobile robots that can effectively avoid a pedestrian in the coexisting human-robot environment. However, these studies did not consider the dynamic personal space of pedestrians and create discomfort or a feeling of psychological pressure in the pedestrian. Therefore, herein, we measured the size of a pedestrian's dynamic personal space while interacting with an autonomous mobile robot and modeled this space using the property that the space changes with relative velocity and relative acceleration. We created an artificial potential method considering this dynamic personal space and realized robot navigation that can direct a robot to a given destination while avoiding a pedestrian. In a simulation experiment, we confirmed that our navigation algorithm functioned accurately and that the robot did not invade the subject's dynamic personal space. The latter was also confirmed in a practical experiment with our prototype robot using measured distance and a questionnaire.

This work presents a low cost automatic method to test vector generation for defect-oriented structural analog testing. An optimal set of analog single tone signals is obtained by computing the frequency response of circuit nodes, while iteratively injecting faults, using a SPICE simulator. The method also allows to identify the nodes of the circuit with higher observabilities to the injected faults, by comparing the obtained fault coverage as a function of frequency. A 130 nm ΣΔ modulator is used as case study to validate the technique under fault injection campaigns. Up to 100% fault coverage is obtained depending on the number of test points. A trade-off is identified, in such a way that a single test point may be used, achieving 95% of fault coverage. The optimized sets of single tone signals can be either combined in a multi-tone testing strategy or sequentially applied during the test application phase.

People's growing needs for comfort and variety of public environments demand more cityscape designs of waterscapes, soundscapes and lightscapes in public spaces. The traditional landscape design of Jiangnan Gardens use water as its heart, combining sound and light to create the whole space theme, and the distribution and movements of the water, the sound, the light present the flowing of the space dimensions and merge the trinity together, structuring the interaction among physical space, visual images and psychological expressions. Landscape combining water, sound and light can penetrate people and through seeing and hearing, conveying and sensing, they perceive the space and picture an idyllic mental state. Our study selected typical Jiangnan Garden landscape cases through literatures reviews and field surveys to discuss the important role of water features in Jiangnan Gardens, and presented concepts and methods of creating integrative water-sound-light landscape, aiming to enlight garden design research and providing theoretical advices for urban public space designing in the future. © 2016 IEEE.

This presentation aims to contribute to an honest dialog on sustainability of oil-based vs bio-based materials in a consumer context that often includes significant "greenwashing" based on misinformation. This consumer context has raised consumers' expectations and has put undue burden on many industries and in particular on the plastic and textile industries. Textile companies have tried to find a niche or "green" appeal in this increasingly competitive market;therefore, some are using labels such as "Sustainable", "Eco-friendly", "Eco-fashions" etc. As a result of high competition and low margin of profit, some companies have adapted practices such as creative marking and creative reporting/labeling that makes the consumer feel good about a "sustainable" choice, while the carbon footprint, or overall environmental impact, of the products or their production processes on the environment is not significantly better, and in some cases is even worse, than the alternative. Therefore, consumers either have false assumptions about the products they purchase, or are receiving conflicting information and are confused. Consumers are not the only ones that are confused;some members of industry have a hard time sorting out information on sustainability and, in turn, making decisions about where to invest their resources to create more sustainable products. This presentation will attempt to shed some light on these issues and raise some serious questions.
