Window displays, as a part of selling strategies, not only convey the type and positioning of mechanize, but also the promotional strategies and corporate images. The study uses window displays for clothing to examine patterns, selling strategies, merchandize types, and target groups. It investigates the effects of design elements on the customers perceptual responding to configurations. The theoretical framework bases on marketing concepts, visual perception principles, Gestalt psychology, and design's principle and elements. Research found that 14 factors in the design affected to perception. The study perception indicates that purchasing desire and attraction had more relation.

This paper describes a new automated method for the detection and volumetric reconstruction of the wetting front based on computerized tomography (CT) imaging of soil samples. The wetting front detection and its volumetric representation are important for analyzing the advancement of humidity in soils. However, there are few existing methods for the analysis of humidity contents and the detection of the wetting front in three-dimensions. This is a very challenging task due to factors such as the stochastic nature of the humidity infiltration process and of the structure of porous media (soils), as well as artifacts in the CT imaging of these materials. The inputs to our proposed method are the CT slices, and CT sequences showing the fluid infiltration process. Experimental results indicate that our method is efficient and may lead to new measurements of the fluid infiltration process in soils.

Retail business has the environment reflect their unique identity. This research thus aims, firstly, to study the unique corporate retail identity. Secondly, it aims to examine the, type of product, sale activities, and storage system toward spatial needs of the sale environment. Finally, the research investigates the physical appearance conveying seasonal identity and meaning responsive to purchasers’ perception towards the final design guideline recommendation. The research anticipates that the case study could find a pattern of how people perceive and react to the built environment, and it could also reveal a proper research methodology to reveal environment and behavior pattern.

This paper investigates passivity-based pose control via an obstacle avoidance navigation function for three-dimensional (3-D) eye-in-hand visual feedback systems. Firstly, visual motion observer-based pose control for 3-D eye-in-hand visual feedback systems is presented. Next, a path planner to be appropriate for the visual motion error system is designed through an obstacle avoidance navigation function to keep collision-free during servoing. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through computer simulations. © 2012 IEEE.

Chinese market is indispensable for the world's automobile enterprises, and all enterprises have strengthened the investment in Chinese market. Therefore, in order to expand more market shares in China, all automobile companies and independent automotive enterprises have implemented a series of management strategies, and, as a result, made the competition in China more intense. However, Chinese automobile enterprises have not been known to the world. Therefore, this paper selected the independent automobile company Chery as an example, based on the analysis of Chery automobile company, using SWOT and five forces model (5F) analysis to analyze it. Finally, we would like to put forward four solutions to solve the current problems. Through this paper, we hope to make contribution to the development of Chinese automobile enterprises in the future.

Physical environment of urban centres often conveys different message to visitors and dwellers. Psychological processes–perception, cognition, and recognition–guide dwellers and strangers to perceive and act on the particular district's functionality differently. This research attempts to identifies features embodied the physical environment conveying the district functionality. The research tools are specially designed to investigate the perception and recognition of young urbanites on the differentiations of five major districts in Bangkok. Questionnaires with visual stimuli are used to inquire information from undergraduate students. The study aims to derive the urban features conveying district message and propose the design guidelines.

Gaian IxD frames interaction design in global terms. It builds on the growing interconnectedness of science, technology, philosophy, and politics. Vectors of change shoot through the history of HCI and interaction design, from the invention and evolution of technologies to myriad cultural and social transformations that have shaped and been shaped by interactive media. The designed interaction with the periscope produced emergent emotions and actions that were unplanned and unforeseen. Although they affected Morton's ability to concentrate on his job, some of these emergent phenomena were later put to good use in applications such as teleoperations and remote presence. The Arab Spring exhibits complex, emergent interaction at the level of cultural and political entities. A next permutation of IxD might step up to a Gaian scale.

He helped create MIT's renowned INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN COURSE. Flowers also received national recognition in his role as host for the PBS television series Scientific American Frontiers from 1990 to 1993 and received a New England EMMY Award for a special PBS program on design. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering and has received three honorary doctorates. He is a MacVicar Faculty Fellow for extraordinary contributions to undergraduate education at MIT where he is a member of the faculty advisory committee for MITX the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange. He was also the inaugural recipient of the Woodie Flowers Award from FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). He recently received the Edward F. Church Medal and the Spira Outstanding Design Educator Award from ASME. Currently Flowers is a director or scientific advisor for four companies. He is also national advisor and chairman of the executive advisor board for FIRST. Has been managing director of the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University (also known as the d.school) since 2010. Previously she worked in the innovation practice of Monitor Group in the US and India and advised multinational companies on developing innovation capabilities. Her background includes developing new products and services in a number of emerging markets in Asia and Africa.
