He received his BSE in naval architecture and marine engineering from the University of Michigan in 1978. Previous experience includes four years as a naval architect with Wesley D. Wheeler Associates Ltd. James LaCosse: ILS manager Marinette Marine Corporation moved to his present position after successfully serving as program manager of Marinette Marine's WLB contract design effort. After graduating from Colgate University in 1987 Durant worked for GeoTrans Inc. conducting hydrogeologic investigations at numerous waste disposal sites throughout the northeastern United States. At present Durant is pursuing an M.S. degree in environmental science from The Johns Hopkins University. His research is focused on enhancing in situ biodegradation of aromatic organic compounds in the subsurface. Washington D. C. 20460) graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in 1972 with a B.A. degree in natural sciences. Myers received a Ph.D. in oceanography from Florida State University in 1977. During 1978 he held a post doctoral fellowship at University of Florida in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Science. From 1979 to 1983 Myers was employed by the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation where he worked on environmental restoration projects. Since 1984 Myers has worked at EPA managing RCRA ground water monitoring and corrective action programs. Lawrence A. Eccles (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Monitoring Systems Laboratory P.O. Box 93478 Las Vegas NV 89193–3478) is a hydrologist with the EPA Environmental Monitoring Systems Research Laboratory in Las Vegas Nevada. Eccles is responsible for the development of vadose zone and in situ monitoring techniques and guidelines. After graduating from Monmouth College with a B.S. degree in chemistry Eccles performed graduate work in chemical engineering at New Mexico State University. He received formal training in hydrology in 1969 from the U.S. Geological Survey in Denver and worked with that agency before joining EPA at Las Vegas in 1984. One of his co-authored articles was chosen for the Best Paper Award by the journal Ground Water in 1975 and another was the subject of a cover story for Water Well Journal in 1977.

His Primary Responsibilities are in the development of underwater nondestructive testing equipment for use by fleet divers and inspectors. He also performs research in the characterization of metal microstructure through ultrasonic scattering measurements. Mr. Mittleman received his BS from Cornell University in 1969 and science master's in ocean engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1970. His research currently supports doctoral studies with Iowa State University. Mr. Mittleman received the American Society of Naval Engineer's Solberg Award in 1981 for his contributions to underwater ship hull inspection. Mr. Mittleman is a member of ASNE ASNT ASTM IoD Sigma Xi Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi. Lisa Swan:is a mechanical engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Panama City Florida. She is involved in nondestructive testing engineering primarily in the underwater arena. Ms. Swan holds a bachelor of science in materials engineering from North Carolina State University. From September 1981 to December 1983 he was a graduate teaching assistant with Georgia Tech. Since January 1984 he has been with The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he has principally been involved with the development of circular overmoded waveguides and tapered waveguide transitions for use in naval radar systems. Dr. Huting is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Jeffery W. Warren:received a B.S. degree in 1982 and an M.S. degree in 1984 both in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina. His thesis research evaluated electro-optical measurements of surface charging of insulators in low-frequency fields. He joined The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in 1984. Mr. Warren's activities include development and testing of electro-optical systems and the development of high-power low-loss overmoded waveguides. Mr. Warren is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Paul N. Garner: Jr. received the B.S. degree in mathematics and the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland in 1973 and 1980 respectively and the M.B.A. degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1984. Since 1987 he has been involved with the Cooperative Engagement Capability Program as the lead mechanical engineer and since 1990 he has been with The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he is now a member of the Senior Professional Staff. Mr. Lindgren is a 1958 graduate of the University of Southwest Louisiana. His degree is in mechanical engineering and he is also a licensed professional engineer. William A. Solitario:is the director of advanced technology at Ingalls Shipbuilding Inc. in Pascagoula Miss. He received his B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the City University of New York and has 28 years experience in marine engineering and design. His current responsibilities include the direction of Ingalls' IRAD programs and several Navy-funded R&D programs to improve ship's performance and reduce ship's operating costs. He is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers and past chairman of the Gulf Section East Area. Arnold P. Moore:is the director design engineering at Ingalls Shipbuilding where he is responsible for all new construction design and engineering activities.
