In this study, we aimed to develop LED lighting with an emission spectrum effective for microalgae propagation, and fabricated LED lighting with Phosphor layer RGB, which has peaks in the red, green, and blue wavelength bands, and Phosphor layer RG’B’, which has broader peaks in the red, green, and blue wavelength bands. In order to examine the effect of microalgae propagation, Closterium ehrenbergii samples prepared at different dilution rates were irradiated with LED illumination light of Phosphor layer RG’B’ and Phosphor layer RGB, respectively, for 7 days, and their propagation rates were compared. The results of the experiment showed that Phosphor layer RG’B’ produced a higher propagation rate than Phosphor layer RGB.

The Choi state is an indispensable tool in the study and analysis of quantum channels. Considering a channel in terms of its associated Choi state can greatly simplify problems. It also offers an alternative approach to the characterization of a channel, with properties of the Choi state providing novel insight into a channel's behavior. The rank of a Choi state, termed the Choi rank, has proven to be an important characterizing property, and here, its significance is further elucidated through an operational interpretation. The Choi rank is shown to provide a universal bound on how successfully two agents, Alice and Bob, can perform an entanglement-assisted exclusion task. The task can be considered an extension of superdense coding, where Bob can only output information about Alice's encoded bit string with certainty. Conclusive state exclusion, in place of state discrimination, is therefore considered at the culmination of the superdense coding protocol. In order to prove this result, a necessary condition for conclusive k-state exclusion of a set of states is presented in order to achieve this result, and the notions of weak and strong exclusion are introduced.

A location's Take-up Rate was significantly influenced by its Internet connectivity and availability. The purpose of this research is to answer concerns about internal Internet Service Provider issues that affect Internet connectivity in clusters of West Java, Indonesia. It also aims to evaluate the results of models that forecast how these internal factors will affect internet connectivity. According to the research findings, the FTTH Cluster has eight significant Internet predictor connectivity out of 18 elements. Activation delay and Administration Documentation of Activation with Connectivity were the two major parameters modeled out of the 18 components. Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Decision Tree (DT) models were used to predict Internet Broadband Connectivity Classification based on the two most important variables. According to the study, ANN is the best model, with 99% accuracy and 99.6% precision when compared to SVM and DT. Furthermore, it exceeds previous studies that used the ANN model and achieved 97.92% accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

In this work, we study the gathering problem to make multiple agents, who are initially scattered in arbitrary networks, meet at the same node. The network has (Formula presented.) agents with unique identifiers (IDs), and (Formula presented.) of them are weakly Byzantine agents that behave arbitrarily, except for falsifying their identifiers. These agents behave in synchronous rounds, and they may start an algorithm at different rounds. Each agent cannot leave information at a node. We propose herein a deterministic algorithm that efficiently achieves gathering with a simultaneous termination having a small number of non-Byzantine agents. The proposed algorithm concretely works in (Formula presented.) rounds if the agents know the upper bound (Formula presented.) on the number of nodes, and at least (Formula presented.) non-Byzantine agents exist, where (Formula presented.) is the length of the largest ID among agents, and (Formula presented.) is the number of rounds required to explore any network composed of (Formula presented.) nodes. The literature presents two efficient gathering algorithms with a simultaneous termination. The first algorithm assumes that agents know the number (Formula presented.) of nodes and achieves the gathering in (Formula presented.) rounds in the presence of any number of Byzantine agents, where (Formula presented.) is the length of the largest ID among non-Byzantine agents. The second algorithm assumes both that agents know (Formula presented.) and that at least (Formula presented.) non-Byzantine agents exist, and it achieves the gathering in (Formula presented.) rounds. The proposed algorithm is faster than the first existing algorithm and requires fewer non-Byzantine agents than the second existing algorithm if (Formula presented.) is given to agents. We propose herein a new technique to simulate a Byzantine consensus algorithm for synchronous message-passing systems on agent systems to reduce the number of agents. © 2024 John Wiley

Graph neural networks are a promising deep learning method that can apply graph structures to various tasks. In real-world scenarios, we often have heterogeneous graphs, wherein different node and edge types capture complex interactions between nodes. High-dimensional node features provide rich information about the target nodes. Conventional heterogeneous graph neural networks (HGNN) focus more on graph structures than node features and may have difficulties extracting knowledge from complex node features. In this study, we propose a novel framework, the tree-boosted heterogeneous graph neural network abbreviated as TreeXGNN, which could efficiently and automatically extract target node features via gradient-boosted decision trees (GBDT). It integrates community structure information with proper fusion modules and a shared feature space design on HGNN. We achieved state-of-the-art performance on the three well-known heterogeneous graph benchmark datasets, IMDB, DBLP, and ACM, and significantly improved performance compared to previous studies. Our work paves the foundation for integrating tree-based models to boost HGNNs for general community analysis. © 2023 IEEE.

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that can attack the lungs and other organs. In the diagnosis of TB, the interpretation of X-ray radiological images requires special skills from medical specialists. However, the lack of experience of medical personnel and focus on X-ray examinations can be a challenge for radiologists because it has the potential to cause diagnostic errors in image interpretation. Therefore, we proposed a web-based application of real-time chest X-ray interpreter by integrating the deep learning model of Vision Transformer (ViT) to interpret chest X-ray images. The inference model was trained and tested on 652 normal and 652 tuberculosis X-ray images. The data preprocessing of Contrast Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) was implemented to increase chest X-ray image contrast as well as inference model performance. The proposed real time system can inteprete the tested chest x-ray images with an accuracy of 95% and with simulation duration time of 4.7 seconds.

Pupillometry measures pupil size, and several open-source algorithms are available to analyse pupillometry data. However, only a few studies compared these algorithms’ accuracy and computational resources. This study aims to compare the accuracy of computer vision-based algorithms (Swirski, Starburst, PuRe, ElSe, ExCuSe algorithms) and the machine learning algorithm, DeepLabCut, to the double-blinded human examiners (gold-standard). Training of DeepLabCut with different architectures and a variable number of markers (2-9 markers) was done on an open-source dataset. The duration of training was statistically longer for the ResNet152 model compared to the MobileNet model. The pupil diameters in computer vision-based software such as PuRe, Starburst, and Swirski were statistically different from human measurements. MobileNet 2 and 3 marker models were the closest to the human measurements. In conclusion, this work highlights the efficiency of lower marker models based on MobileNet architecture in DeepLabCut, which consumes fewer computational resources and is more accurate. © 2024 Institute of Information Technology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW. Expectations are rising for four-wheel independently steered vehicles due to their high degree of freedom. However, inputting an appropriate steering angle to each wheel is necessary. Therefore, we propose a path-tracking control method for four-wheel independently steered vehicles using the pure pursuit method. The pure pursuit method is used as a path-tracking algorithm for self-driving cars because of its ease of implementation, but the method must be applied to turning movements by various independent steering patterns of four-wheel independently steered vehicles. Therefore, we develop a new pure pursuit method that enables the steering angle ratio of the front and rear wheels to be changed and allows the center of the vehicle to follow the path. The simulation results showed that the proposed method enabled a four-wheel independently steered vehicle to follow the road under any steering angle ratio of the front and rear wheels. By adjusting the look-ahead distance, we confirmed that the vehicle did not deviate from the road width. In addition, we confirmed that when the curvature of the road changed significantly, a contradictory relationship existed between the vehicles path-tracking performance and the magnitude of the vehicle's lateral acceleration.

Battery energy storage system (BESS) has been highlighted for its possibilities of performing ancillary services to the power system, such as voltage and frequency regulation, power quality, power smoothing, and peak shaving, among others. The BESS is very promising especially associated with renewable energies, such as photovoltaic (PV) and wind. Among some of these ancillary services, this work evaluates the battery lifetime and reliability. The proposed methodology includes the combined analysis of rainflow counting algorithm, Monte Carlo simulation, and nonlinear damage accumulation rule for battery reliability assessment. Monte Carlo simulation is used to approximate the battery reliability estimation of practical applications, by considering stochastic variations in the battery lifetime model. The case study is based on a 100 kW PV system, assessed using a one-year mission profile of solar irradiance and ambient temperature from Goiânla-Brazll associated with a mission profile of 100 kW industrial load. The PV plant is connected to a 440 V grid associated with a BESS that mitigates oscillations of 10% of PV nominal power per minute. The peak shaving service presented a decrease in the battery lifetime by approximately 11 % in relation to the deterministic battery lifetime analysis. On the other hand, the peak shaving presented a decrease in the battery lifetime by approximately 17.4 %. In addition, the pack-level analysis revealed a maximum reduction in the battery lifetime by approximately 30%, when compared to the conventional deterministic battery reliability estimation procedure. © 2023 IEEE.
