Willis coupling in acoustic materials defines the cross-coupling between strain and velocity, analogous to bianisotropic phenomena in electromagnetics. While these phenomena have been garnering significant attention in recent years, to date their effects have been considered mostly perturbative. Here, we derive general bounds on the Willis response of acoustic scatterers, show that these bounds can be reached in suitably designed scatterers, and outline a systematic venue for the realistic implementation of maximally bianisotropic acoustic inclusions. We then employ these inclusions to realize acoustic metasurfaces for bending and steering of sound with unitary efficiency.

Recently, the Indonesian government requires auditors, the need for auditors around 40,000 auditors in 2016, currently has only about 10,800 auditors, however, the lack of the auditors impacting the risk of financial loss for the state. Referring to the problem, this experimental research was conducted. The experiment of the research was conducted two times and the audit topic is a compliance audit in the year 2017 and year 2018. The goal of this research is to know, can the stakeholder act as an IT and general compliance auditor? The experiment was conducted by 8 university students in 2017 and 19 university students in 2018, and the supporting tools of audit activities the university student use the smartphone to capture the object as evidence. The experiment results with descriptive method show university students can act as an auditor and found several pieces of evidence that might cause future impact to the institution.

In this paper, we present and study the dynamics of an active microwave cloaking technique that alleviates the trade-offs between loss, bandwidth, and size inherent in passive approaches. The presented cloak consists of a finite number of satellite antennas loaded with parity-time-symmetric lumped admittances, which, without external control, can track in real time the amplitude, frequency, and phase variations of the impinging signals and generate the required current distributions at the antennas to totally suppress the scattered waves, including reflections and shadows. We analytically derive the optimal density and frequency dispersion of the antenna satellites surrounding the object in order to achieve substantial reduction in the scattering crosssection over a wide bandwidth. We also investigate the conditions necessary to maintain the cloak stability and study its transient response for excitation with pulsed signals.

This work shows the production steps of two optical fibre sensing setups which were specially designed for the activities of the 2018 Photonics Lab Open Day realized at the Federal University of Technology—Paraná in Brazil as a celebration of the first International Day of Light (16 May). The systems are based on the sensing properties of fibre Bragg gratings, a well-established photonic sensing technology but not covered in regular undergraduate Optics courses. The demonstrations of optical fibre sensing properties by means of funny scientific activities intended to stimulate high school and college students' interest in science, seeking greater engagement of these students in the research projects developed at the University. Fibre Bragg ability of detecting mechanical vibration and temperature changes was used to measure the temperature of the attendee's breath and vibrations produced during a short walk. Demonstrations were realized in a contest where students were challenged to walk smoothly over a flat surface instrumented with vibration sensors, as well as to blow into a tube containing the temperature sensor. Steps of the sensing systems implementation are provided in detail including aspects concerning to the choice of the apparatus design and the installation of the sensors.

Non-invasive assessment of cognitive importance has been a major challenge for planning of neurosurgical procedures. In the past decade, in vivo brain imaging modalities have been considered for estimating the 'eloquence' of brain areas. In order to estimate the impact of damage caused by an access path towards a target region inside of the skull, multi-modal metrics are introduced in this paper. Accordingly, this estimated damage is obtained by combining multi-modal metrics. In other words, this damage is an aggregate of intervened grey matter volume and axonal fibre numbers, weighted by their importance within the assigned anatomical and functional networks. To validate these metrics, an exhaustive search algorithm is implemented for characterising the solution space and visually representing connectional cost associated with a path initiated from underlying points. In this presentation, brain networks are built from resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and deterministic tractography. their results demonstrate that the proposed approach is capable of refining traditional heuristics, such as choosing the minimal distance from the lesion, by supplementing connectional importance of the resected tissue. This provides complementary information to help the surgeon in avoiding important functional hubs and their anatomical linkages;which are derived from neuroimaging modalities and incorporated to the related anatomical landmarks.
