Machine-learning-based sampling inspection under OQC capacity for real-time quality monitoring in the TFT-LCD industry

In the thin film transistor-liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) industry, the competition is fierce, and the external failure cost is high. To improve the quality of released products, sampling inspection under outgoing quality control (OQC) is conducted before products are released. Owing to the variety and complexity of inspection items, the task must be carried out manually while realising automation is difficult. Traditional random sampling inspection is limited by sampling quantity, manpower, and material resources. To effectively improve acceptable quality levels, this paper proposes a quality predictive monitoring framework tailored to the production and inspection characteristics of the TFT-LCD industry. This framework includes real-time automatic quality monitoring based on an optimal machine learning prediction model with two-phase feature creation, and it also addresses OQC inspection capacity constraints. Experimental results show the prediction performance based on proposed model is better than the traditional random sampling process. In practice, superior average outgoing quality improves by more than 70% at the same sampling level. In addition, the features of the process can be further controlled and managed based on the prediction model to monitor the key parameters in real time and respond to abnormalities quickly, thereby further improving the quality of released products. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The aim of the research is to identify, evaluate, and measure the degree of importance of risks associated with healthcare inventory management that may impede the achievement of healthcare inventory objectives. An analytical hierarchy process model (AHP) was proposed to identify and hierarchize healthcare inventory risk factors. Thirteen risk factors were identified from literature review, and the AHP method was applied to rank those factors. The study found that financial risks are more severe than operational risks in healthcare inventory management. The top three risks identified were stock obsolescence, fraud committed by a provider, and insurance company disputes. These risks can have significant negative impacts on healthcare organizations and their ability to provide quality care to patients. Healthcare organizations should be aware of these risks and take steps to mitigate them. Identifying the most serious risks in HC inventory helps decision makers to make more informed data-driven decisions on which interventions are needed and where to invest more to mitigate risks and allocate resources to ensure that their inventory management processes are effective and efficient, thereby improving patient care and outcomes. eLearning has been utilized as a mode of instruction among medical students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The present study aimed to investigate the factors influencing the acceptance of eLearning platforms in medical education during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines by employing the latent variables of UTAUT2, along with two additional latent variables gathered from various related literature. A sum of 360 medical students participated and answered an online survey that consists of 40 questions. A stepwise multiple linear regression was utilized and found that performance expectancy (PE), habit (HB), and instructor characteristics (IC), can successfully predict the actual use (AU) of medical students with a precision of 54.22%. A higher performance expectancy (PE), habit (HB), and instructor characteristics (IC) can enhance and promote the acceptance of medical eLearning platforms. This is the first study that has examined the acceptance of eLearning platforms among medical students in the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic. The outcomes of this research can serve as guidelines for the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines for the enhancement of eLearning platforms. Although this study only utilized the latent variables of UTAUT2 along with two additional variables: Learning Value and Instructor Characteristics;the findings of this study would still hold significant value for promoting open innovation in eLearning platforms in medical fields worldwide. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s). This study develops warranty cost models for a warranted product under the lemon laws protection. The product considered in this study is a multi-component system consisting of critical and non-critical components. The Failure of either component can cause the product to fail. The product is declared a lemon if recurrent failures of the critical component occur—i.e., the number of the failures reaches the threshold value, k (e.g., four failures). Furthermore, this study assumes that a failure of the critical component can occur naturally or induced by a failure of the non-critical component. Hence, two types of failures are considered—i.e., a natural failure and an induced failure. Whenever a lemon is declared, the customers can opt for either (i) a refund or (ii) a replacement warranty claim. Hence, this paper provides the warranty cost models for the two cases—(i) refund and (ii) replacement then encounters the optimal lemon law period that minimizes the expected warranty cost rate. The numerical examples are provided to illustrate the expected warranty cost and the optimal lemon law period. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2023.

Fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) is a useful cryptographic primitive. It makes a third-party manipulate data in the ciphertext space and therefore is a key technology for privacy-preserving outsourcing services. Theoretically, FHE can evaluate any circuits. However, the implementation is not trivial. The reason it lacks lots of basic operations like conditional check and branch control. In this paper, we focus on extended Euclidean algorithm operation over FHE. We introduce the problems we encounter and show how we solve these issues. We implement our design and evaluate its performance on a real computer. Superior and quality human resources are based on healthy human resources with indicators of adequate nutritional intake according to age development. However, the world still faces the problem of hunger and malnutrition today. According to a UNICEF report, the number of people suffering from malnutrition in the world will reach 767.9 million people in 2021. The World Health Organization (WHO) said that malnutrition is a dangerous threat to the health of the world's population. Stunting also has an impact in Indonesia, the prevalence of toddlers experiencing stunting in Indonesia is 24.4% in 2021. The solution created is to classify and cluster the prevalence of stunting to produce a pattern that can be used as best practice to be transmitted to other affected areas. The algorithm used is Euclid. The Euclid algorithm can cluster stunting prevalence data into 4 clusters with the very little category at 79%, the little category at 67%, the many categories at 51%, and the very much category at 21%. The results of the classification and clustering of the best stunting prevalence in cluster one with a very small number, can be used as a source of accurate and updated information that can be used by the government in its efforts to optimize stunting handling in each district/city based on artificial intelligence which can provide handling and optimization patterns. stunting in every district/city. © 2023 IEEE.

Geothermal reservoirs are significant sources of renewable energy. Accurate geometric modeling of these reservoirs is essential for understanding the distribution of heat and fluid dynamics within them. This study aims to develop a geometric model of the Sibayak geothermal field using borehole data. Borehole data provide detailed geological information, which is crucial for constructing a realistic geometric model. The methodology of this research involves several key steps: the collection of borehole data from the Sibayak geothermal field, the construction of a 3D geometric model of the reservoir using COMSOL Multiphysics based on the borehole data, and the validation of the model through comparison with field data and previous research findings. The results indicate that the developed geometric model successfully identifies zones with high geothermal potential and provides an accurate depiction of the reservoir's boundaries and characteristics. Modeling the geometry of geothermal reservoirs using borehole data offers profound insights into the internal dynamics of the reservoir and can serve as a valuable tool for planning and optimizing geothermal energy exploitation. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Food innovations have become crucial for manufacturing's business performance;however, new food product still has low consumers adoption rate even with extensive of research and new knowledge. While the outcomes of innovation may appear random, but the development of invention is not. Key elements such as managerial strategy, internal collaboration, and resources are complicated to fully understand and manage. An organization should take a systematic and practical approach to comprehend the associated factors for innovation management. Innovation management has grown in popularity in study and practice. Despite the rising number of studies on management innovation, there is still a gap in research that combines this body of knowledge, specifically for product innovation for food manufacturing. Therefore, this study undertakes a systematic review of product innovation management for food manufacturing during 1980-2020 to better understand the management of food product innovation. The review concluded the six key success factors of product innovation management for food manufacturing, which are top management, organizational structure and culture, resources (human, finance, technology), process management, collaboration, and environment and market orientation. © 2022 ACM.

Bibliometric mapping of the research trends on software architecture for e-Health systems

The association between technology and social development is particularly important in the health field, pointing to research in e-Health to optimize health services. This paper aimed to carry out a bibliometric mapping of software architecture for e-Health systems, so an exploratory and descriptive study was performed, with a quantitative approach and based on secondary data from ISI Web of Science. The bibliometric indicators showed 127 different papers in 97 sources, with 16.92 citations per paper and a collaboration index of 4.18 with higher scientific productivity from Europe and North America. Scattered networks of co-citation of the sources and co-occurrence of the keywords were identified, pointing to three main approaches in the research theme, including (i) a managerial view of e-Health systems based on the development of frameworks; (ii) data privacy in health services; (iii) and application of digital technologies, especially Big Data, IoT, Cloud Computing, and Blockchain as corroborated by the word cloud. In addition, for the evaluation of the countries that have the largest number of scientific production and to assess the most used keywords, a descriptive statistical analysis was performed to organize the dataset and to obtain the measures of centrality, dispersion, and frequency. This paper contributes to direct the discussion about software architecture and its multifaceted aspects in the health field, guiding architects and practitioners in their e-Health projects.

Bioethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass has become an economical and environmentally friendly substitute to current petroleum-based fuels. This is due to its ability to decrease carbon dioxide emissions and make use of plentiful natural resources. Current advances in this area concentrate on improving the effectiveness and expandability of the conversion procedures by using inventive pretreatment approaches, enhanced enzyme compositions, and refined fermentation technologies. Consolidated bioprocessing (CBP) and utilizing genetically modified microbes have expedited the decomposition of intricate biomass complexes and enhanced overall productivity. Furthermore, process intensification developments, such as the adoption of hybrid reactors and continuous production systems, have considerably decreased production expenses and energy usage. Nevertheless, there are still obstacles to overcome, including the raw materials inconsistency, the demand for efficient recovery and purifying techniques, and the financial viability of extensive processes. This study examines the latest developments in bioethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass. It focuses on ecological approaches, technical advancements, and the main obstacles that need to be overcome to exploit its promise as a biofuel fully. This review primarily focused on outcomes documented in the last five years from 2019 to 2024. The first segment of this work focuses on the second-generation bioethanol production process, which includes: the properties and composition of lignocellulosic biomass, pretreatment, enzymatic saccharification, and fermentation. The subsequent portion of this paper examines a techno-economic analysis, the obstacles and the prospective technology outlook. It finishes by discussing findings from research fields that haven't been investigated yet, besides the obstacles faced in bioethanol manufacturing methods. © The Author(s) 2025.
