This study investigates how artificial intelligence (AI) can transform audit processes, including how AI can be used in businesses to execute non-technical audit tasks and what effect this will have on those tasks. A qualitative case study methodology is used in the research design to give detailed insights into how AI is being adopted by businesses. This study aims to analyze the aspects that impact AI implementation from the viewpoints of managers, auditors, and other stakeholders. The findings show that artificial intelligence (AI) has a great deal of promise for non-technical audit procedures in businesses. AI can automate tedious jobs, evaluate large data sets to identify hazards and enhance teamwork and communication. These developments may lead to increased productivity, maybe better audit quality, and more effective processes. But there are still difficulties. Data quality is essential to the success of AI integration, and auditors may exhibit bias in favor of human professionals. Careful thought must also be given to ethical issues about transparency and possible job displacement. All things considered, this study adds significant knowledge to both the academic literature and real-world auditing applications. It improves our comprehension of the function of AI in the industry and provides useful information for people involved in information technology development, audit, and legislation. © 2024 IEEE.

In the current day, digital transformation is imperative;both customer demand and market competitiveness are mostly driving that trend. The fourth industrial revolution has also affected the financial sector. One difficulty that has to be addressed is the desire from customers for quick and useful services. Traditional procedures need to be replaced with digital ones. Furthermore, banking organizations will have a competitive edge in the current market if they are successful in this digital transformation process. Successful transformation, however, does not happen by accident;in fact, the likelihood of completing this change is seen to be very low, necessitating rigorous planning for a company that is ready for the future. There are several components to the preparation in question, both internal and external. In this situation, the company's ability to combine and rearrange its resources quickly is essential for adapting to the ever-changing business environment. © 2024 IEEE.

The imperative demand for sustainable and renewable energy solutions has precipitated profound scientific investigations into photocatalysts designed for the processes of water splitting and hydrogen fuel generation. The abundance, low toxicity, high conductivity, and cost-effectiveness of silicon-based compounds make them attractive candidates for hydrogen production, driving ongoing research and technological advancements. Developing an effective synthesis method that is simple, economically feasible, and environmentally friendly is crucial for the widespread implementation of silicon-based heterojunctions for sustainable hydrogen production. Balancing the performance benefits with the economic and environmental considerations is a key challenge in the development of these systems. The specific performance of each catalyst type can vary depending on the synthesis method, surface modifications, catalyst loading, and reaction conditions. The confluence of high crystallinity, reduced oxygen concentration, and calcination temperature within the silicon nanoparticle has significantly contributed to its noteworthy hydrogen evolution rate. This review provides an up-to-date evaluation of Si-based photocatalysts, summarizing recent developments, guiding future research directions, and identifying areas that require further investigation. By combining theoretical insights and experimental findings, this review offers a comprehensive understanding of Si-based photocatalysts for water splitting. Through a comprehensive analysis, it aims to elucidate existing knowledge gaps and inspire future research directions towards optimized photocatalytic performance and scalability, ultimately contributing to the realization of sustainable hydrogen generation.

Human-nature relationships and its implications on the management of eastern arc water catchments of Tanzania

This study is aimed at understanding the Human–Nature Relationships (HNRs) in the Lower Mngeta and Upper Zigi catchments, as parts of Eastern Arc water catchment areas, in the United Republic of Tanzania. This study employed the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Norm-Activation Model (NAM) to understand the position of humans in the two catchments’ ecosystems. The study design involved Focus Group Discussions, Key Informant Interview, and Household Questionnaire Surveys. A total of 310 (185 males and 125 females) villagers were involved in this study. Furthermore, four HRN typologies, master over nature, partner with nature, a participant in nature, and steward of nature, were adopted. The study findings indicated that there was no significant difference (X ² test, p > 0.05) in HNRs between the two catchments. Moreover, master over nature typology was dominant in both catchments, with values of 59.4% (n = 200) and 59.5% (n = 85) in Lower Mngeta and Upper Zigi, respectively. The main reason is that HNR is dependent on the nature of the livelihood activities and the mode of subsistence of a particular community. It was also found that the communities in Lower Mngeta and Upper Zigi catchments are mostly dependent on agricultural and hunting activities that highly depended on the two catchment resources. This study, therefore, recommends an increase in the level of community participation in all decision-making activities, as well as an increase in environmental education for sustainable utilization and management of the two catchment resources. © 2023 The Author(s). The process of continuous landfill in the area of the final disposal (landfill) of waste produces pollutants such as leachate (leachate) is a liquid containing dissolved substances and suspended very fine as a result of waste decomposition by microbes. Leachate water contains decomposing organic materials and heavy metal materials. Heavy metals (Cr, Hg, Pb, Cu, Fe, Mn, Zl, Cl) present in leachate water are from waste that has been disposed to TPA Keudah Kota Banda Aceh. The author would like to do research on the adsorption of heavy metals by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer in landfill leachate Banda Aceh. The purpose of this research is to get the absorption of some heavy metals in the landfill leachate by using AAS analysis method. The results of the analysis in landfill leachate solution Banda Aceh by using Atomic Adsorption Spectrohotometer its highest uptake in heavy metal parameters Iron (Fe) amounted to 10.9191 ppm, and is followed by the parameters of heavy metals (Ni) 0.9820 ppm, ( Zn) 0.4188 ppm, (Co) 0.1698, (Cu) 0.1198 ppm, (Pb) 0.0602 ppm, (Cr) 0.0502 ppm, (Hg), and (Cu) Cd) the results are not detected (ND). Considering that Indonesia in the future is still faced with environmental pollution problem as a result of the development, the restoration and rehabilitation of contaminated land needs to get mutual attention, such as by using dilution method, stabilization, and phytoremdiation technique. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The diffusion of electric vehicles (EV s) is affected by the spread of EV public charging stations (PCSs) and vice versa. Their interactions are often referred to as “indirect network effects” and analyzed with a two-sided market model. However, the consumer adoption of home charging stations (HCSs), which are considered key drivers of EV deployment, is often ignored. By modeling a two-sided market of EVs and PCSs (i.e., indirect network effects) under the adoption of HCSs, this study explores the EV diffusion process and considers effective strategies for its spread. We examine two cases: in the first, consumer adoption is determined exogenously; in the second, it is determined endoge-nously. In each case, we vary the strength of the indirect network effects, which correspond to the drivers' concern, referred to as “range anxiety.” Through numerical simulations, we evaluate the market shares of EVs, HCSs, and PCSs, as well as social welfare. Our findings have strategic implications for policymakers seeking to increase the market share of EV s in the presence of different types of charging stations without negative social impacts.

Measuring community sustainability: Exploring the intersection of the built environment & social capital with a participatory case study

Municipalities all over the globe seek to evaluate the sustainability of their communities and this process requires an interdisciplinary perspective. Walkability and social capital are important measures of sustainable communities that are not necessarily considered together in measurement schemes. Through a community-based case study, the following article examines the relationship between select measures of social capital and self-perceived walkability. Descriptive statistics demonstrated that higher levels of social capital existed in more walkable communities. More sophisticated analysis further supported this association. A community index was created from responses to questions about participating in civic engagement activities such as donating blood, attending a committee meeting or public hearing, interacting with individuals in various neighborhoods, and contributing to a community project. A trust index was also created with answers to survey questions about general trust and trust of neighbors and other members of communities. Multilevel models demonstrated that higher levels of walkability were associated with higher levels of participation in community activities, even after controlling for socio-demographic factors. Similar patterns were found for the trust index where higher levels of walkability were positively associated with positive responses to a variety of trust questions. Implications for sustainable communities policy and management are suggested. © 2012 AESS.

Waste is the main problem for the *** waste for various useful applications has a benefit for the *** work has been studied for handling pineapple peel waste to make composite film bacterial cellulose nanocomposite membrane(BCNM)with addition graphite nanoplatelet(GNP).The concentration of GNP in the membrane influence the membrane *** bacterial cellulose(BC)pellicle was synthesized by using media from pineapple peel waste *** pellicle is cleaned with water and NaOH solution to be free from *** is synthesized through the mechanical disintegration *** results of disintegration using high pressure homogenizer at 150 bar and five ***/GNP is synthesized with varying addition of GNP of 2.5,5.0,10 and 100 wt%of dry bacterial nanocellulose(BNC).The BC and GNP solution were dried in an oven for 14 h at 80℃.BCNM morphology was observed using *** is dispersed and distributed in the BC matrix as *** analysis shows many peaks of BNC less pronounced with increasing of *** higher concentration of GNP,the rougher of *** optimum tensile strength of BCNM was achieved after addition GNP of 2.5 wt%.

Organizations face an urgent need to become faster, more efficient, and more successful in their commercial operations, given the current state of technological evolution and the arrival of Industry 4.0. Many businesses have adopted the idea of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to achieve this goal. The ERP system is expected to increase worker productivity, improve business performance to maximize profitability and profits, and provide accurate and up-to-date data and information to management and stakeholders. This research aims to find new variables related to integration problems in the use of ERP systems. Using the SPSS statistical program, the data collected will be examined using quantitative exploratory factor analysis (EFA). Data processing then includes collecting demographic information from respondents, reliability testing, conducting the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test, testing using an anti-image matrix, and deriving new factors using a rotation component matrix. This research seeks to identify new elements underlying ongoing integration problems in ERP system implementation. The research results show several reasons for underlying integration problems and offer in-depth information to management that can be used to analyze and evaluate the ERP system in their company appropriately in the future so that the company's performance becomes superior to the competition. © 2024 IEEE.
