Nyer is a vice president with ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller Inc. where he is responsible for maintaining and expanding the company's technical expertise in geology/hydrogeology engineering modeling risk assessment and bioremediation. He has been active in the development of new treatment technologies for many years. His areas of research interest include biological treatment suspended solids separation chemical oxidation in situ treatment air treatment systems and the application of new technologies to ground water cleanup. He has been responsible for the strategies technical design and installation of more than 200 ground water and soil remediation systems at contaminated sites throughout the United States. Paulette Mayfield is the project manager for engineering services in ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller Inc. 's Austin Texas office. As such she manages engineering projects conducted by the office and also provides engineering and regulatory support for projects conducted by ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller nationwide. She is also a member of ARCADIS Geraghty & Miller's compliance audit team and has participated in or managed numerous projects associated with RCRA program compliance solid and hazardous waste management regulatory analysis and compliance planning and facility closure/demolition/ property redevelopment. She has participated in the design operation management and evaluation of numerous bioremediation projects including hazardous waste land treatment units petroleumcontaminated soil remediation projects and ground water natural attenuation and enhanced natural attenuation projects. Mayfield also conducted two years of laboratory research involving the in situ biodegradation of petroleum products. She received her graduate degree in environmental engineering from Texas Tech University and has co-authored several publications addressing in situ bioremediation techniques. Joseph D. He worked as a Designer in the Engineering Technical Department of Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. and he sailed with a number of U.S. flag companies as an Engineering Officer. He joined the Maritime Administration in 1967 and is currently the Assistant for Program Development and Control in the Office of Research and Development. He is a member of ASNE and SNAME. Mr. Ron Corkrey:received B.B.A and M.B.A degrees from the Golden Gate University and was later a guest lecturer there and at other universities. From 1955 to 1969 he held various positions with the Matson Navigation Company ranging from Systems Analyst to Pier Superintendent. From 1969 to 1971 he was the Northern California District Manager for Signal Trucking Service Ltd. He joined the Maritime Administration in 1971 as a Transportation Specialist in the Western Region Office and he is now in Washington D. C. as Program Manager for Cargo Systems R&D. He is a member of the SNAME D31 (Cargo Handling) Panel. Mr. Larry Benen:received his B.S. degree from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and a M.S. degree from George Washington University. He is a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF). He has been employed as a research program manager for the Naval Sea Systems Command since 1967 in the areas of Hydromotions and Logistics. He is presently the Program Manager for the Merchant Ship Naval Augmentation Program Exploratory Logistics Experimental Ships and Strategic Sealift Procurement Program.

Banham:holds positions both as Director of the Machinery Automation Systems Department of the Naval Ship Systems Engineering Station and as Assistant Chairman of the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department of Drexel University's Evening College where he holds the rank of Adjunct Associate Professor. He is the author of a text on Numerical Methods Applications in Engineering. In addition to numerous technical papers he is also the author of the ISA film on Boiler Feedwater Control Systems. A registered professional engineer in the state of Pennsylvania Mr. Banham is co-author of a forthcoming handbook on preparing for the Professional Engineering Examination in mechanical engineering. Mr. Banham holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University his graduate studies were taken at the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a member of the American Society for Engineering Education and the Instrument Society of America. He served as a member of the ISA Education Committee from 1964 through 1973 and as a member of the ISA Power Plant Dynamics Committee since 1969. His service on the latter committee includes terms as Executive Secretary Vice-Chairman and Chairman. Among other honors Mr. Banham was the winner of the Naval Ship Engineering Center's first Technical Achievement Award (1963) Technical Publication Award (1974) and Equal Employment Opportunity Award (1978). He was also the recipient of Drexel University's Laura S. Campbell Award for Excellence in Teaching (1978). He has taught undergraduate courses in classical control theory numerical methods computer programming systems design and analysis and instrumentation. 作者: SHUMAKER, GL The author graduated from Auburn University in 1939 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and was a Distinguished Military Graduate. He then completed the General Electric Test Engineer Program and entered military service in 1941 with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers participating in the assault waves at Arzew North Africa Gela Sicily Salerno Italy and Utah Beach Normandy. He was awarded the Silver Star Medal the Purple Heart and a battlefield promotion at Salerno. From 1943 until 1950 he was in civilian life with Proctor and Gamble as an Engineering Supervisor and as owner of his own construction company. He returned to service in 1950 and served in various capacities in the United States Korea Japan Germany and the Dominican Republic. He received the Bronze Star Medal and three awards of the Army Commendation Medal before retiring in 1967 and commencing 10 years of Civil Service work at the Naval Coastal Systems Laboratory in the Marine Corps/Amphibious Warfare Division. He has an MS degree in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and is also a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

Prior to joining Philadelphia Gear Mr. Phinney's career included positions as Engineering Supervisor at Newport News Shipbuilding Director of Product Engineering for SKF Industries Manager of Engineering for Propulsion Systems Inc and Chief of Design Engineering for High Speed and Marine Drives at the Falk Corporation. The scope of his marine experience includes management design of propulsion equipment and logistic support for military and commercial vessels ranging from fishing vessels to aircraft carriers. Mr. Phinney is a graduate of Antioch College earning his BSME in 1963. A member of ASNE since 1985 Mr. Phinney is a past member of the National Council representing the mid-Atlantic region. He is active in the Delaware Valley Section where he heads the Awards Committee and previously served as the section Chairman Vice Chairman and Program Committee head.
