RSA is an asymmetric encryption algorithm that uses two different keys, a public key to encrypt the plain text and a private key to decrypt the cipher text. Fernet is a symmetric encryption algorithm that uses a single key to encrypt and decrypt information. This study uses Fernet and RSA which is the combination of symmetric and asymmetric encryption called hybrid encryption. In addition, the cipher text will be hidden inside an image using Stepic. Hybrid Encryption uses asymmetric encryption to encrypt the symmetric encryption secret key, it will secure the symmetric encryption. The result of this study is the lowest error that we got as the MSE is 0.00% and is inversely proportional with the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Avalanche (AVA) with 79.00% and 42.34% in order. Inversely proportional to the length of the text that is hidden in the image, the longest text that is hidden, the more changes that we get in the image with the highest Unified Average Changing Intensity (UACI) and Number of Pixels Change Rate (NPCR) with the biggest image size with 46.48% for UACI and 99.86% for the NPCR. © 2023 IEEE.

Student retention is crucial for educational institutions, influencing reputation, finances, and ranking metrics. Engagement, reflecting a student’s connection, interest, and effort, plays a vital role in learning, fostering critical thinking, and supporting retention. Recent advancements use students’ poses to predict engagement, providing valuable insights without disrupting the teaching-learning dynamic. The prevailing research trend leans toward employing multi-modal approaches, such as a combination of pose detection with object detection. However, current methods use out-of-date object detection methods and manual dataset creation, which is cumbersome, requiring thousands of manually annotated data. This problem is then addressed by proposing a novel method of student engagement detection, using a combination of You Only Look Once Version 8 Mini (YOLOv8m) and MediaPipe as state-of-the-art alternatives to improve both object detection and human pose estimation. The (YOLOv8m + MediaPipe) method surpasses the baseline (YOLOv4 + OpenPose) with higher accuracy (0.70 vs. 0.41) and lower cross-entropy loss (0.40 vs. 0.60) on the test set, confirmed by a statistically significant paired t-test. It also exhibits a remarkable speed advantage, around 16 times faster than the baseline in pose detection data collection rates. Despite not being designed for it, the proposed method achieves multiple keypoint detection, matching the baseline’s amount. © (2025), (International Association of Engineers). All rights reserved.

Sleep is the natural state of relaxation for human being. Sleep quality is an essential yet frequently neglected aspect of sleep in general. Sleep quality is essential because it allows the body to restore itself and prepare for the next day. The standard method for evaluating sleep quality was subjective evaluation. Actigraphy devices, which can measure the sleep cycle, are now widely available. This study developed a method using Fuzzy Logic and an actigraphy device to measure and classify sleep quality. The fuzzy logic method was developed in several stages, which are determining the sleep quality measurement parameters, constructing the fuzzy set for each input variable, and developing the fuzzy rules. To evaluate the proposed fuzzy model, five individuals were invited to participate in the experiment and required to complete the PSQI subjective sleep questionnaire. The evaluation result shows that our proposed Fuzzy model achieves lower error compared to the existing method. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, broadband internet utilization is predicted to continue to grow and experience a significant increase. The pandemic has changed how people work, study, communicate, shop, and carry out many aspects of daily life. Research reported that since 2018, research on broadband internet has continued to increase until now. This quantitative study examines the impact of the four critical variables on the link between attitude, availability, pricing, and quality of service (QoS) on broadband internet customer satisfaction using the Structural Equation Model approach and the Partial Lease Square technique. Three hundred and sixty-one citizen respondents in DKI Jakarta Province were collected using the snowball sampling method facilitated by Google Forms. At the same time, the COVID-19 post-pandemic was still ongoing in Indonesia. Through rigorous statistical analysis, the results show that customer satisfaction with broadband internet services is influenced by all factors, from attitude towards broadband Internet, broadband Internet availability, broadband Internet price, and service quality. The implications of this research are significant for service providers. They provide actionable insights for developing effective strategies to improve customer satisfaction and increase broadband internet subscriptions. © 2023 IEEE.

Post-pandemic and globalization have accelerated the implementation of Industry 4.0, aided by rapid technological and information advancements. Industry 4.0 has significant consequences for all institutions in developing ICT infrastructure, one of which is educational institutions. Despite the enthusiasm in all educational institutions for using ICT to improve teaching and learning, particularly in universities, integrating technology is becoming problematic. Integrating ICT infrastructure in universities is a multidimensional process involving technology and curriculum, pedagogy, institutional readiness, lecturer competence, and long-term financial planning. Because of this, it is essential to explain the adoption of technology within the scope of this study to make the most of investments made in the integrated ICT infrastructure of the university using the UTAUT2 method. © 2022 IEEE.

In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company's business goals. Banking companies include companies that use information technology such as Mobile Banking in their services. Mobile banking is a banking facility or service using mobile communication tools such as mobile phones, with the provision of facilities for banking transactions through mobile applications. Even though they have used a good SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), there are still many obstacles that occur, especially system problems and human errors. This can result in a high risk if it occurs continuously and will be fatal to the company's business processes. Therefore, COBIT 5 can be used as a benchmark for the IT assessment process on local bank mobile banking services. The purpose of the study is to determine the level of capability and strategy for improving risk management. The method used in this study is to focus on IT risk management with the COBIT 5 framework in the Evaluate Direct Monitoring (EDM) 3 domain, Align Plain Organize (APO) 12. From the results of the analysis, the calculation of the capability level is at Level 1 Performed Process with a score of 82.04%, thus the status has evidence as well as a systematic approach and this achievement is obtained significantly through the assessment of process attributes. © 2022 IEEE.

Online transactions are significant in the pandemic era. Using online transactions can minimize the risk of physical contact with disease transmission between buyers and sellers. However, with so many choices of items, it becomes challenging for users to decide which item suits their needs. For this reason, the recommender system was created as a handy tool. Recommender systems can help provide ratings, compare with other user data, use personal transaction history, use current events, or combine the above methods. Currently, computer science experts are constantly trying to improve recommender systems. In 2017 a new method emerged that uses transformers as one of the deep learning models. The combination of recommender systems and transformers can process extensive data, create different weights for each input data, and process data without sequentially allowing parallel processing and reducing training time significantly. Many papers in various countries are continuously trying to improve this methodology. In this literature review, we try to analyze the technology used, the dataset used, and the area where the technology is implemented. In this case, we carry out collecting papers, then filtering, classifying and analyzing, and making conclusions. © 2022 IEEE.

Stemming is the process of cutting affixes, both prefixes and suffixes from a term to get the root of the word that has affixes. Stemming can be done in any language, especially in Indonesia Language. Indonesian which is rooted in Malay and Sanskrit has a bigger influence on Language. The algorithm of stemming that has developed is the one that is based on the dictionary of a root word. This kind of algorithm was started by Nazief- Adriani and it grew up to be Confix Stripping (CS), and then was perfected to be Enhanced Confix Stripping (ECS). A scientometric analysis is a mathematical method used to identify academic publications related to citations and scientific matters and is intended for use in libraries or other fields. In this research, the publication of which using stemming algorithm selected and collected using keywords related to Nazief Adriani and ECS. The publications are collected from *** (an online database for advance scientific research). From those publication we did the analysis bibliometric help by the VOS Viewer application using the analysis technique of co-authorship and citation technique, and all done. The result are, from 310 publications that have keywords Nazief Adriani and 119 publications containing the keyword ECS, it was found that the owning documents will be the reference sources of the next research in which the most citation and co-authorship are found in Indonesia. © 2022 IEEE.

This study aims to identify the processes of UX designing a mobile application, Augmented Reality based on Gamification for Cultural Heritage Tourism, and to provide the prototype design and the testing result;this research employs the Design Thinking Method to design the prototype and uses the System Usability Scale (SUS) to identify and validate the testing result;the author establishes two research questions for this study, then explains the answers through a clear description of the stages of making a prototype which consists of the empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing stages, then to find out the testing results, the author uses the SUS method, scoring 88.5 in the excellent and acceptable categories;the originality of the research, this study provides the Design Thinking method to investigate the process of UX designing and the SUS Score method to calculate the resting result, helps build a complete understanding of developing the prototype and validation through testing comprehensively. © 2022 IEEE.

BPA: Approximation Batch-Processing Algorithm for Static Lightpath Requests in Elastic Optical Networks

One of the major obstacles we face in the elastic optical network (EON) is the fragmentation which degrades the quality of service by underutilizing the spectrum resources. Typically, proactive fragmentation management approaches have been considered to overcome the above issue. In proactive fragmentation management approaches, batch formation is a major concern for performance improvement. This letter proposes an approximation static Batch Processing Algorithm for lightpath requests in EONs, named BPA, to enhance resource utilization. BPA generates temporary batches of the lightpath requests by accommodating as many lightpath requests as possible until the batch capacity is exhausted. After that, the last request from each temporary batch is replaced with the same number of hops of requests that require more slots to form batches. This reduces the number of batches by utilizing the slots left in each batch. We prove that BPA is a factor 2WL approximation, where L is the ratio of the maximum number of hops to the minimum number of hops of requests, and W is the batch capacity. Numerical results indicate that BPA outperforms the conventional heuristic algorithm as the number of requests increases. © 2019 IEEE.
