Digital health can assist health professionals in monitoring elderly individuals after hospital discharge using technology, techniques, and practices that provide environments conducive to autonomy, comfort, and safety for already vulnerable patients. This article aims to describe the process of modeling and designing an m-Health solution that includes features for monitoring elderly patients post-discharge. The method applied was a case study, analyzing the reality of a hospital institution in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The target audience for this study comprised elderly individuals with preserved cognitive functions and health professionals involved in the hospital discharge process. The modeling of the m-Health solution prototype followed the User-Centered Design method. Data collection instruments included questionnaires, interviews, and observations focusing on the two target groups. As a result, we developed a prototype, characterized by an m-Health solution with relevant functions to facilitate post-hospital discharge management. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Prospective informatics teachers in vocational schools (VS) must master content knowledge, pedagogical skills, and technology integration to achieve learning goals. Therefore, informatics teachers in VS need to innovate to increase students' creativity. However, many prospective informatics teachers experience difficulties in this regard. This research aims to develop and implement the Web-Based Microteaching (WBM) model to improve the teaching skills of prospective informatics teachers at VS. This study uses research and development methods with the ADDIE model approach. The research results show that the WBM model effectively improves prospective informatics teachers' teaching skills, especially in planning lessons and practising basic teaching skills. This innovation is a relevant learning solution in the digital era and positively contributes to the professional development of informatics teachers. The WBM model is an innovation to provide a more intensive and structured practical experience by utilizing web technology as the main media. Through web-based learning, prospective teachers can access material, exercises and feedback independently, which is expected to accelerate pedagogical mastery. © 2025 The Authors

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a significant global health concern, affecting millions worldwide, with particular prevalence among specific vulnerable populations. Women of sexually active age, post-menopausal women, pregnant women, individuals with diabetes, catheterized patients, childs and older indivisuals face heightened risk due to various physiological, hormonal, and anatomical factors. While anatomical abnormalities and behavioral factors contribute to UTI susceptibility, the growing challenge of antibiotic resistance has necessitated exploration of alternative treatment approaches. Non-antibiotic interventions, including probiotics, cranberry products, and natural remedies, are gaining attention for their potential role in UTI prevention and management. Recent studies suggest the efficacy of probiotics and plant extracts in promoting urinary tract health and preventing bacterial colonization. Additionally, research highlights the importance of dietary factors, such as vitamin D and probiotic intake, in reducing UTI susceptibility. This review examines the emerging shift toward non-drug strategies, offering a more comprehensive approach to UTI management while addressing the pressing concern of antibiotic resistance.

Hydroponics is a method of growing crops without using soil, with the benefits of controlling the environment and nutrients, conserving water, and reducing labor. The applied technology is used to improve results that have consistency. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the IoT devices and platforms used in the development of IoT-based hydroponics. Data obtained from the website *** and *** from 2016 to 2021. This study is a literature review using the PRISMA method. This method is used for literature review using a systematic and structured basic framework. The results of this study indicate that the variables measured are Temperature, Potential Hydrogen (pH), Total Dissolve Solid, Water Temperature, Humidity, UV, Carbon Dioxide, Soil Moisture and Electrical Conductivity. The device used is the ESP8266, Arduino, and Raspberry PI with the MySQL, Thingspeak, Firebase, Domoticz, and Wyliodrin IoT Platforms. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Medical Gas is an important component in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 disease. Medical gas is used to help COVID-19 patients to reduce the effects of respiratory disorders by providing oxygen ventilators to patients. With the surge in typical COVID-19 sufferers as of July 2021, the need for Oxygen in hospitals is getting higher. This is when the control and monitoring of medical gases in hospitals are late because the integrated system is very dangerous. Therefore, a system that can be used to control and monitor medical gases in hospitals that are integrated and automated and can be monitored by the Government and Medical Gas Producers. This is useful for anticipating the lack of availability of Medical Gas in hospitals. In this study, the system used IoT systems as a base in delivery and control. This system uses Arduino as a minimum system that reads the press sensor on the Medical Gas tube and regulates the valve. The data obtained is then sent to the Local Server to be processed and delivered to the Hospital Officer. Local Servers also send the data to cloud servers to be monitored by the government funds of several medical gas producers. This design can help in the process of controlling and monitoring Medical Gases in hospitals in hopes of minimizing the risk of delays in supplying medical gases to hospitals. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. A growing number of virtual courses are being offered by Brazilian educational institutions, requiring the development of technological resources and research to assist in Distance education (DE) teaching and learning processes. Analysis of students’ socio-affective profiles in Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) enables possibilities to develop methodologies and resources to better understand them. The Social Map (SM) and Affective Map (AM), both features of the Cooperative Learning Network (in Portuguese: ROODA), provide inferences and graphic presentations of students’ socio-affective profiles. This article aims to identify the possible recurrent socio-affective scenarios in a VLE utilizing Learning Analytics (LA). LA is defined as the measurement, collection, and analysis of data. The qualitative and quantitative research approach used in this work was carried out based on 10 case studies. The target audience was 219 students including undergraduate, graduate, teachers, and elderly people who participated in teaching activities at a university. Data collected from the SM and AM were extracted in order to identify the relationship between these two aspects. As a result, 38 socio-affective scenarios were created using LA to contribute to the analysis of the students’ learning profiles, allowing teachers to develop pedagogical strategies consistent with the needs of each individual. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This study was aimed to evaluate the e-learning platform in a graduate school by using User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). The data were collected from 65 respondents and analyzed using an excel data analysis tool. The results indicate that all six scales of the instrument are consistent except the novelty scale. Also, the calculated means of the scales are slightly positive as all values are greater than 0.8 compared to the UEQ benchmark. Although the respondents show a little positive impression with the platform, all scales means are below average category except efficiency scale which is above average as compared to the benchmark. This indicates that the platform needs more improvement in all aspects of user experience for it to be at least in a good category. The findings discussed in this paper are valuable for all academic stakeholders in various educational institutions which implement interactive e-learning systems as well as practitioners of user experience and developers of e-learning systems. © 2021 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The educational data can be mined to produce the useful knowledge. This paper focuses on the educational data processing to predict student's psychomotor domain. Here, we apply linear regression method to do it. On process stage, we use 4 regularizations, namely: no regularization, ridge regression, lasso regression and elastic net regression. Furthermore, we exploit 2 sampling methods as the evaluation technique, for examples: cross-validation sampling and random sampling. The experimental result indicates that the best regularization on cross-validation and random sampling are an elastic net regression because this regularization achieves the lowest predicting error. On cross-validation, values of MSE, RMSE, and MAE are 40.079, 6.330 and 5.183, respectively. Additionally, for random sampling, respectively, values of MSE, RMSE, and MAE are 86.910, 8.428 and 6.511. © 2018 IEEE.

The utilization of data warehouses in various fields is an absolute necessity. A data warehouse is a database that contains large amounts of data that aims to help organizations, fields, and institutions specifically for decision making. Data warehouses can produce important information in the future. Loading data from various sources and processed through an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process that displays data consistently is the basis for creating a data warehouse architecture. The development of a data warehouse in education will provide significant benefits for the progress of education. Integration of data and processing results stored in the data warehouse can be the basis for evaluating better planning. Development of data warehouse adopt the multidimensional modelling method which consists of four stages: select the business process, declare the grain, select dimensions, and identify facts. Interactive Process Drift Detection (IPDD) is a framework for visual analysis of process drifts. A process drift indicates a change in the process model occurred at some point in time. IPDD firstly generates process models for subparts of the event log using a sliding window approach. Then, it detects the drifts by evaluating similarity metrics calculated between adjacent process models;a difference in some of the metrics indicates a drift. The current implementation of IPDD generates the process models using the directly-follows graph (DFG) and applies two metrics: nodes and edges similarity. The user interface shows the drifts in the process models over time, allowing the user to visually understand the model changes. Also, the user can easily change the hyperparameters for the analysis and verify the results on the interface. The user interface of IPDD allows the user to evaluate the detected drifts by calculating the F-score metric, which is useful when using artificial datasets. The underlying idea is to ease the choice of a "good" value for the hyperparameter configuration, which is critical for almost any drift detection tool.
