Oxygen Availability Control and Monitoring System in Hospitals using IoT

Medical Gas is an important component in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 disease. Medical gas is used to help COVID-19 patients to reduce the effects of respiratory disorders by providing oxygen ventilators to patients. With the surge in typical COVID-19 sufferers as of July 2021, the need for Oxygen in hospitals is getting higher. This is when the control and monitoring of medical gases in hospitals are late because the integrated system is very dangerous. Therefore, a system that can be used to control and monitor medical gases in hospitals that are integrated and automated and can be monitored by the Government and Medical Gas Producers. This is useful for anticipating the lack of availability of Medical Gas in hospitals. In this study, the system used IoT systems as a base in delivery and control. This system uses Arduino as a minimum system that reads the press sensor on the Medical Gas tube and regulates the valve. The data obtained is then sent to the Local Server to be processed and delivered to the Hospital Officer. Local Servers also send the data to cloud servers to be monitored by the government funds of several medical gas producers. This design can help in the process of controlling and monitoring Medical Gases in hospitals in hopes of minimizing the risk of delays in supplying medical gases to hospitals.

The Artificial Neural Network in this study has been used to predict drug users by using the backpropagation method with the Matlab 7.7 software program. The variables consist of the number of drug users, the type of drug used and the employment status of drug users. The data input from 2010 to 2012 while the target data is 2013 data consequenlty if input data and target data are processed on artificial neural networks will produce output that can predicts 2014 drug users. Predictions actually consider the value which has not been seen in the future based on past data. Prediction is the process of predicting something by correcting the previous action. To predict a condition, it requires proper calculation to answer the problem. The calculation can use artificial neural networks with the backpropagation method. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Our research specifies the criteria for categorizing comments and supplements the limitations of the existing services that filter out only some of the direct malicious comments centered on specific vocabulary and phrases. In comparison to prior research detecting three sentiments as positive, negative, or neutral, we subdivided expressions into six categories. Our model applying classification downstream tasks to a pre-trained KcBERT model draws results reflecting the meaning and social context of the comments. An improved accuracy compared to previous studies shows a meaningful outcome. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper, we have proposed Single Inductor Dual Output (SIDO) buck-buck and boost-boost DC-DC converter using improved RC ripple regulator control. The proposed SIDO buck-buck converter has the characteristics of lowripple and high control frequency. RC ripple regulator control can not be applied to SIDO boost-boost converter because RC ripple regulator undergoes self-excited oscillation and two self-excited oscillating controllers make the SIDO converter unstable. Thus we proposed the priority circuit for RC ripple regulator control. The proposed control circuit improves response characteristic and simplicity of the control circuit. Simulations are performed to verify the validity of the proposed SIDO converter. Simulation results indicate good performance of the proposed SIDO converter. © 2016 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

In this paper, EMI reduction method for switching power supply circuit by using PLL circuit as reference signal whose spectrum is spreaded, is proposed. M-sequence pseudo random signal is employed for PLL spectrum spread. Next, we extend this low bit M-sequence pseudo random signal to spectrum spread signal called "pseudo analog signal." The proposed pseudo analog signal can realize that the effect of the spectrum spread is wide even if the number of bit of the pseudo random circuit is small. Simulations and measurement are performed to verify the validity of the proposed method. Simulation and measurement results indicate that the proposed method have a large effect of the spectrum spread. © 2016 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

In 2023, we proposed a hypothetical knowledge management framework that incorporates science fiction prototyping (SFP) into the traditional roadmapping (RM) method to make RM more innovative and create a future beyond what we can currently imagine. Our main objective is to create a new organizational knowledge co-creation method for generating innovative ideas by incorporating humanistic factors utilizing SFP into RM. In the current article, we present the exploratory study we conducted to examine the hypothetical framework. Experimental workshops were held in November 2023 to compare the integrated method, in which SFP is applied to RM, with the original RM method. We followed a crossover design in the workshops and analyzed the results qualitatively and quantitatively following the perspectives proposed in the hypothetical framework. The qualitative analysis revealed successful integration regarding diverse and broader perspectives. The quantitative analysis utilizing Wilcoxon signed rank tests showed that the scores of the integrated method were significantly higher than those of RM for variables evaluating the effectiveness of the integration, while not for variables related to participants' feelings and satisfaction with the workshops, and sustainability. These findings indicate that the integration was successful in terms of its effectiveness as a method, while participants' subjective feelings toward the workshops were not different in both methods. As for sustainability, which requires a long-term perspective, no apparent differences were observed in these short-term workshops.

Processed electroencephalography (EEG) indices used to guide anesthetic dosing in adults are not validated in young infants. Raw EEG can be processed mathematically, yielding quantitative EEG parameters (qEEG). We hypothesized that machine learning combined with qEEG can accurately classify expired sevoflurane concentrations in young infants. Knowledge from this may contribute to development of future infant-specific EEG algorithms. Frontal EEG collected from infants ≤ 3 months were time-matched as one-minute epochs to expired sevoflurane (eSevo). Fifteen qEEG parameters were extracted from each epoch and eight machine learning models combined the qEEG to classify each epoch into one of four eSevo levels (%): 0.1–1.0, 1.0–2.1, 2.1–2.9, and > 2.9. 64 epochs formed the post hoc SHAP dataset to determine the qEEG that contributed most to the model. The remaining epochs were randomly split 50 times into 80/20 training/testing sets. Accuracy and F1-score determined model performance. 42 infants provided 4574 epochs. The top classifiers K-nearest neighbors, default multi-layer perceptron, and support vector machine achieved 67.5–68.7% accuracy. Burst suppression ratio and entropy β were the top contributors to the models. Post hoc analysis performed without burst suppression ratio yielded similar prediction performance. In young infants, machine learning applied to qEEG predicted eSevo levels with moderate success. Burst suppression ratio, the most important contributor, represented an efficient EEG feature that encapsulated underlying EEG changes seen on other qEEG features. These results provided insight into EEG parameter selection and optimal machine learning models used for future development of infant-specific EEG algorithms. © The Author(s) 2025.

Background: Antidepressants are among the most commonly prescribed psychotropic agents for older patients. Little is known about the best source of pharmacotherapy information to consult about key factors necessary to safely prescribe these medications to older patients. Objective: The objective of this study was to synthesize and contrast information in the package insert (PI) with information found in the scientific literature about age-related changes of antidepressants in systemic clearance and potential pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions (DDIs). Methods: A comprehensive search of two databases (MEDLINE and EMBASE from January 1, 1975 to September 30, 2011) with the use of a combination of search terms (antidepressants, pharmacokinetics, and drug interactions) was conducted to identify relevant English language articles. This information was independently reviewed by two researchers and synthesized into tables. These same two researchers examined the most up-to-date PIs for the 26 agents available at the time of the study to abstract quantitative information about age-related decline in systemic clearance and potential DDIs. The agreement between the two information sources was tested with κ statistics. Results: The literature reported age-related clearance changes for 13 antidepressants, whereas the PIs only had evidence about 4 antidepressants (κ < 0.4). Similarly, the literature identified 45 medications that could potentially interact with a specific antidepressant, whereas the PIs only provided evidence about 12 potential medication-antidepressant DDIs (κ < 0.4). Conclusion: The evidence-based literature compared with PIs is the most complete pharmacotherapy information source about both age-related clearance changes and pharmacokinetic DDIs with antidepressants. Future rigorously designed observational studies are needed to examine the combined risk of antidepressants with age-related decline in clearance and potential DDIs on important health outcomes

There are several ways to deal with security issues of confidential data sent via the internet, including using cryptographic techniques and steganography. Steganography is the science and art of concealing information / messages in a media in such a way that its existence is not detected by other parties who are not entitled to the information. Instead, cryptography disguises the meaning of a message, but does not hide that there is a message because the file looks suspicious. The Steganography technique used here was End Of File (EOF). The EOF technique described how to add data or files at the end of the image file. For this technique, the size of data or files that will be hidden could be larger than the size of the image file. The hidden data will be inserted at the end of the file so that it will not affect the image. This steganography application is also equipped with a cryptographic function Data Encryption Standard (DES) at the time of insertion of data that functions as a generator code and encrypts data, so that the security of a data in the file is more protected and protected from those who are not entitled to know the data. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
