Background:There is a growing interest to understand the neurobiological mechanisms that drive the positive associations of physical activity and fitness with measures of cognitive *** better understand those mechanisms,several studies have employed eye-based measures(e.g., eye movement measures such as saccades,pupillary measures such as pupil dilation,and vascular measures such as retinal vessel diameter)deemed to be proxies for specific neurobiological ***,there is currently no systematic review providing a comprehensive overview of these studies in the field of exercise-cognition ***,this review aimed to address that gap in the ***:To identify eligible studies,we searched 5 electronic databases on October 23,*** researchers independently extracted data and assessed the risk of bias using a modified version of the Tool for the assEssment of Study qualiTy and reporting in EXercise(TESTEX scale,for interventional studies) and the critical appraisal tool from the Joanna Briggs Institute(for cross-sectional studies).Results:Our systematic review(n=35 studies) offers the following main findings:(a) there is insufficient evidence available to draw solid conclusions concerning gaze-fixation-based measures;(b) the evidence that pupillometric measures,which are a proxy for the noradrenergic system,can explain the positive effect of acute exercise and cardiorespiratory fitness on cognitive performance is mixed;(c) physical training-or fitness-related changes of the cerebrovascular system(operationalized via changes in retinal vasculature) are,in general,positively associated with cognitive performance improvements;(d) acute and chronic physical exercises show a positive effect based on an oculomotor-based measure function(operationalized via antisaccade tasks);and(e) the positive association between cardiorespiratory fitness and cognitive performance is partly mediated by the dopaminergic system(operationalized via spo

The use of Machine Learning techniques in battery-powered devices has increased in recent years. Therefore, evaluating power-accuracy trade-offs of inference models has become important. This work explores decision trees architectures, analyzing the effects of model complexity and approximation in power and accuracy. By quantizing the inputs to limited widths, we increased the accuracy of the models in up to 8.7% compared to precise cases. In terms of power, the variation in model complexity was more significant than in input width, as we obtained reductions of up to 97% by decreasing the tree depth, compared to 88% when decreasing the width.

Complex networks are often used to model real systems. Examples of such networks include computer networks, cities in a state or countries interconnected by highways, the connection between neurons in the brain, atoms in a molecule, and relations between people in a social network. A graph can represent any complex network, and we can use a matrix to represent a graph. Graph spectrum is the eigenvalues of the matrix associated with the graph, and the spectral moments are the moments of the distribution of these eigenvalues. The spectral moments give us intuitions about the shape of the distribution of the eigenvalues, and it can be used to study complex networks. In this work, we show an algorithm (implemented in C) that can efficiently estimate the spectrum moments of an undirected weighted graph. The implementation of this algorithm is freely available to download at GitHub (https://***/GuDiasOliveira/graph-spectral-moments).

This work presents the analysis, design, and performance evaluation of three usual CMOS proportional to absolute temperature (PTAT) voltage generators, with emphasis on variability effects. Minimization or compensation of the main error sources, such as fabrication variability and intrinsic non-linearities, is an important design challenge required to increase the precision and robustness of a voltage reference. The CMOS PTAT topologies are analytically described and design methodologies for PTAT circuits in subthreshold are presented. The compromises between design conditions and resulting performance are evaluated through simulation for these three PTAT generators, including linearity with temperature, temperature coefficient (TC), and variability impact. Monte-Carlo simulations demonstrated the sensitivity of each topology to fabrication variability, showing that the self-cascode MOSFET structure presents the best accuracy of TC, nominal PTAT voltage, and linearity with temperature.

Multimedia computers have grown rapidly. Various kinds of multimedia programs have been produced by combining text, video and sound features. This capability has been developed to form interactive programs such as tutorials. SWiSH Max is software to create animations that has become a standard in the web industry with a large and growing number of users. This software was first introduced in 1999 as software to made vector-based animations with navigation capabilities, graphic illustrations and file sizes that are small enough to be able to pass an Internet connection using a normal modem. The results of this study are designed learning software about SWISH Max. Aligning IT strategies to business goals is a top priority for CIOs. However, measuring results that IT brings to business is a challenging task. We carried out a study to help an IT director of a large mining company to define OKRs (Objective Key Results) and quantitatively monitor the achievement of goals. We performed a participative case study to define OKRs for goals and initiatives to achieve them, by using GQM+Strategies to support us in that matter. As a result, after three meetings with the IT director and IT managers, we defined OKRs for five IT goals and initiatives to achieve them. From this experience, we noticed that GQM+Strategies and OKR can be used together, working in a complimentary way: OKR gives simplicity and agility to the process, while GQM+Strategies provides useful knowledge to define OKRs and initiatives to achieve them properly. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

The objective of this study is to create a services design of E-Government system that can help Indonesian government to resolve some problems such as diversity platform and application. It is performed by identifying, evaluating, and combining information from several other studies which relevant with this study's research questions. We use services oriented analysis and design approach to discussing the phenomenon. The ability of Service-oriented Architecture to connect multiple services between diversity systems and it can help the enterprise application travelling in Indonesian government. The case in this study is travelling system in Indonesia Government. The results in this study are the conceptual services for Travelling System using SOA approach and ESB Technology. Prostate cancer represents a major threat to health. Early detection is vital in reducing the mortality rate among prostate cancer patients. One approach involves using multi-modality (CT, MRI, US, etc.) computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems for the prostate region. However, prostate segmentation is challenging due to imperfections in the images and the prostate’s complex tissue structure. The advent of precision medicine and a significant increase in clinical capacity have spurred the need for various data-driven tasks in the field of medical imaging. Recently, numerous machine learning and data mining tools have been integrated into various medical areas, including image segmentation. This article proposes a new classification method that differentiates supervision types, either in number or kind, during the training phase. Subsequently, we conducted a survey on artificial intelligence (AI)-based automatic prostate segmentation methods, examining the advantages and limitations of each. Additionally, we introduce variants of evaluation metrics for the verification and performance assessment of the segmentation method and summarize the current challenges. Finally, future research directions and development trends are discussed, reflecting the outcomes of our literature survey, suggesting high-precision detection and treatment of prostate cancer as a promising avenue. Impact Statement — Prostate cancer remains a significant health threat, necessitating early detection to reduce mortality rates. Current diagnostic approaches, particularly in medical imaging, face challenges in accurate prostate segmentation due to the organ's complex structure and imaging imperfections. Proteins fold to a specific functional conformation with a densely packed core that controls their stability. Despite their importance, we lack a quantitative explanation for why all protein cores, regardless of their overall fold, possess the same average packing fraction 〈ϕ〉≈0.55. However, important developments in the physics of jamming in particulate systems can shed light on the packing of protein cores. Here, we extend the framework of jamming to describe core packing in collapsed polymers, as well as in all-atom models of folded proteins. First, we show in a spherical bead-spring polymer model (with and without bond-angle constraints) that as the hydrophobic interactions increase relative to thermal fluctuations, a jamming-like transition occurs when the core packing fraction exceeds ϕc with the same power-law scaling behavior for the potential energy Vr, excess contact number ΔN, and characteristic frequency of the vibrational density of states ω* versus Δϕ=ϕ−ϕc as that for jammed particulate systems. Then, we develop an all-atom model for proteins and find that, above ϕc∼0.55, protein cores undergo a jamming-like transition, but with anomalous power-law scaling for Vr, ΔN, and ω* versus Δϕ. The all-atom protein model remains close to the native protein structure during jamming and accurately refolds from partially unfolded states.
