—LIDAR (light detection and ranging) is an optical remote-sensing technique that measures the distance between sensor and object, and the reflected energy from the object. Over the years, LIDAR data has been used as the primary source of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs). DEMs have been used in a variety of applications like road extraction, hydrological modeling, flood mapping, and surface analysis. A number of studies in flooding suggest the usage of high- resolution DEMs as inputs in the applications improve the overall reliability and accuracy. Despite the importance of high-resolution DEM, many areas in the United States and the world do not have access to high-resolution DEM due to technological limitations or the cost of the data collection. With recent development in Graphical Processing Units (GPU) and novel algorithms, deep learning techniques have become attractive to researchers for their performance in learning features from high-resolution datasets. Numerous new methods have been proposed such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to create intelligent models that correct and augment large-scale datasets. In this paper, a GAN based model is developed and evaluated, inspired by single image super-resolution methods, to increase the spatial resolution of a given DEM dataset up to 4 times without additional information related to data. Data analysis has become a vital requirement in various fields. The results of data analysis can be used as a data warehouse design that is expected to help in solving problems, evaluating learning outcomes and supporting decision making. In the field of education, student achievement is a reference for achieving quality learning. This success can be seen from the achievement of student learning completeness that is the basis for evaluating and making decisions. The data warehouse design can be used as a basis in knowing student learning progress that can be seen from the value obtained. The diversity of data makes managing values difficult and delayed, data warehouse design using Pentaho can help and simplify data integration. The results of the analysis and design of the data warehouse will be presented in a multidimensional form that can be seen through dimension tables and fact tables.

Objective: The goal of this paper is to provide a consensus review on telehealth delivery prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic to develop a set of recommendations for designing telehealth services and tools that contribute to system resilience and equitable health. Methods: The IMIA-Telehealth Working Group (WG) members conducted a two-step approach to understand the role of telehealth in enabling global health equity. We first conducted a consensus review on the topic followed by a modified Delphi process to respond to four questions related to the role telehealth can play in developing a resilient and equitable health system. Results: Fifteen WG members from eight countries participated in the Delphi process to share their views. The experts agreed that while telehealth services before and during COVID-19 pandemic have enhanced the delivery of and access to healthcare services, they were also concerned that global telehealth delivery has not been equal for everyone. The group came to a consensus that health system concepts including technology, financing, access to medical supplies and equipment, and governance capacity can all impact the delivery of telehealth services. Conclusion: Telehealth played a significant role in delivering healthcare services during the pandemic. However, telehealth delivery has also led to unintended consequences (UICs) including inequity issues and an increase in the digital divide. Telehealth practitioners, professionals and system designers therefore need to purposely design for equity as part of achieving broader health system goals. © 2022 IMIA and Georg Thieme Verlag KG.

E-voting is an electronic voting information technology service, while E-participation is an information technology service for citizens of the public to provide reports, polls, or suggestions on government policies electronically. The Technology Services E-Participation-VOT (EPV) model is a combined E-Participation and E-Voting service model. The concept of this service model is that citizens transform from E-participation and E-voting services into an EPV model. The purpose of this model is to provide information to participants (citizens) about online-based voting services. This method of developing the EP-Voting Anticipation (EPV) technology model uses agile methods that are effective and flexible in various cases of designing Information Technology models for Information Technology (IT) services that apply a Framework Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). The results obtained from this study are an Information Technology service system model that provides recommendations for participation in conducting electronic elections (E-Voting). © 2020 IEEE.

In general, performing a nonlinearity time series analysis in the modeling of data can reach a robust and increase the quality of the results. Wavelet methods have successfully been applied in a great variety of applications for modeling also forecasting. Wavelet Transform divided into two categories. There is continuous wavelet (CWT) and a discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Cycle spinning unlike the discrete wavelet transform (DWT), is highly redundant, non-orthogonal, also defined naturally for all sample sizes. There is a Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) algorithm, which is a multivariate analysis method can be used in modeling and identifying uncertainty on linear also nonlinearity systems. In this paper, we aim to explain the combination of A-Trous wavelet transforms applied on cycle spinning and group method of data handling (GMDH) in data of short-term electric load holy month of Ramadhan from 2014 to 2015. © 2019, International Association of Engineers.

We observed the high-mass star-forming core G336.01–0.82 at 1.3 mm and 0′′ . 05 (∼150 au) angular resolution with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) as part of the Digging into the Interior of Hot Cores with ALMA (DIHCA) survey. These high-resolution observations reveal two spiral streamers feeding a circumstellar disk at opposite sides in great detail. Molecular line emission from CH3OH shows velocity gradients along the streamers consistent with infall. Similarly, a flattened envelope model with rotation and infall implies a mass larger than 10 M☉ for the central source and a centrifugal barrier of 300 au. The location of the centrifugal barrier is consistent with local peaks in the continuum emission. We argue that gas brought by the spiral streamers is accumulating at the centrifugal barrier, which can result in future accretion burst events. A total high infall rate of ∼4×10−4 M☉ yr−1 is derived by matching models to the observed velocity gradient along the streamers. Their contribution account for 20–50% the global infall rate of the core, indicating streamers play an important role in the formation of high-mass stars. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. An end-to-end approach for recognition of modern and historical handwritten numeral strings

An end-to-end solution for handwritten numeral string recognition is proposed, in which the numeral string is considered as composed of objects automatically detected and recognized by a YoLo-based model. The main contribution of this paper is to avoid heuristic-based methods for string preprocessing and segmentation, the need for task-oriented classifiers, and also the use of specific constraints related to the string length. A robust experimental protocol based on several numeral string datasets, including one composed of historical documents, has shown that the proposed method is a feasible end-to-end solution for numeral string recognition. Besides, it reduces the complexity of the string recognition task considerably since it drops out classical steps, in special preprocessing, segmentation, and a set of classifiers devoted to strings with a specific length. Objectives: To evaluate changes in the age at menarche in Asian populations. Study design: Retrospective cohort study. Methods: We included 548,830 women from six countries in Asia. The data were sourced from 20 cohorts participating in the Asia Cohort Consortium (ACC) and two additional cohort studies: Japan Multi-institutional Collaborative Cohorts (J-MICC), and Japan Nurse Health Study (JNHS) with data on age at menarche. Joinpoint regression was used to evaluate changes in age at menarche by birth year and by country. Results: The study includes data from cohorts in six Asian countries namely, China, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. Birth cohorts ranged from 1873 to 1995. The mean age of menarche was 14.0 years with a standard deviation (SD) of 1.4 years, ranged from 12.6 to 15.5 years. Over 100 years age at menarche showed an overall decrease in all six countries. China showed a mixed pattern of decrease, increase, and subsequent decrease from 1926 to 1960. Iran and Malaysia experienced a sharp decline between about 1985 and 1990, with APC values of −4.48 and −1.24, respectively, while Japan, South Korea, and Singapore exhibited a nearly linear decline since the 1980s, notably with an APC of −3.41 in Singapore from 1993 to 1995. Conclusions: Overall, we observed a declining age at menarche, while the pace of the change differed by country. Additional long-term observation is needed to examine the contributing factors of differences in trend across Asian countries. The study could serve as a tool to strengthen global health campaigns. © 2024 The Royal Society for Public Health

The applications aimed at monitoring and controlling smart homes and buildings, health, industrial environments, traffic, energy consumption, resources, and so on, are being increasingly deployed due to the advantages they provide, increasing efficiency and decreasing costs. In this context Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) have become a leading solution providing the appropriate mean to get and collect data and deliver it for their processing. Sensor nodes in a WSN have resource constraints, presenting low processing power and, in some cases, restrictions in power consumption. Resources availability constraints force researchers and engineers to develop proper Operating Systems (OS) aimed at low-power wireless devices, and one of the most important and in active use is the TinyOS. This paper describes an experimental analysis and evaluation which investigates relevant features and evaluates the performance (throughput, network delay, success rate, and energy consumption) of WSN under the constraint of using the low-power-consumption-aimed chosen operating system in an harsh outdoor industrial environment for with two different protocols: Active Message (AM) layer protocol and the fully 802.15.4 compliant protocol stack TKN15.4. Based on the results we conclude that TKN15.4 is better in energy consumption and success rate. On the other hand, AM protocol allows running multiple services using the same radio, but at the cost of an excessive energy consumption. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
