This paper presents a blind multichannel speech enhancement method that can deal with the time-varying layout of microphones and sound sources. Since nonnegative tensor factorization (NTF) separates a multichannelmagnitude (or power) spectrogram into source spectrograms without phase information, it is robust against the time-varying mixing system. This method, however, requires prior information such as the spectral bases (templates) of each source spectrogram in advance. To solve this problem, we develop a Bayesian model called robust NTF (Bayesian RNTF) that decomposes a multichannel magnitude spectrogram into target speech and noise spectrograms based on their sparseness and low rankness. Bayesian RNTF is applied to the challenging task of speech enhancement for a microphone array distributed on a hose-shaped rescue robot. When the robot searches for victims under collapsed buildings, the layout of themicrophones changes over time and some of them often fail to capture target speech. Our method robustly works under such situations, thanks to its characteristic of time-varying mixing system. Experiments using a 3-m hose-shaped rescue robot with eight microphones show that the proposed method outperforms conventional blind methods in enhancement performance by the signal-to-noise ratio of 1.03 dB. © 2017 IEEE.

Background: The survival analysis of the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset is a well-known method to discover the gene expression-based prognostic biomarkers of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). In order to utilize a continuous gene expression for survival analysis, it is necessary to determine a cutoff point by the dichotomization of the patients. There is some optimization software for cutoff determination. However, those predetermined cutoffs by software usually set at the median, 1/4 quantile, or 3/4 quantile of RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) value to find a significant P-value of the Kaplan-Meier curve. There are few clinicopathological features available on their pre-processed data sets. Methods: We developed a comprehensive workflow by R script, running on the Rstudio platform. It includes data retrieving and pre-processing, feature selection, cutoff mining engine, Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, Cox proportional hazard modeling, and biomarker discovery. Results: Using this workflow on the TCGA HNSCC cohort, we scanned human protein-coding genes (20,500) programmatically. After adjustment with other confounders, we found that the clinical tumor stage and the surgical margin involvement are independent risk factors in patient survival. According to the resulting tables with Bonferroni adjusted P-value under optimal cutoff as well as hazard ratio (>= 1.5), there were ten candidate biomarkers, named as DKK1, CAMK2N1, STC2, PGK1, SURF4, USP10, NDFIP1, FOXA2, STIP1, and DKC1, which are significantly associated with the poor prognosis of overall survival (OS). This paper presents a hardware-friendly algorithm to maximize the throughput of the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) of the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), together with its hardware design. The Fast DCT (FCT) algorithm is based on the Cooley-Tuckey algorithm for the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) with pre- and post-processing required to maintain the compliance with the HEVC. The resulting algorithm allows high throughput while maintaining low power dissipation. The designed hardware was synthesized for a 45-nm Nangate technology and it reaches a throughput of 81.28GSamples per second when consuming 12.33mW. Such energy efficiency and throughput surpass all related works in the literature.

Wind power has been experiencing a quick improvement. Without a doubt, wind is a variable asset that is hard to forecast. For instance, traditionally time series, extra holds are distributed to deal with this uncertainty. This paper presents a comparison of the performance of various Support Vector Regression (SVR) applied to short-term wind power forecasting. The analogy with BORUTA and multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) as judge best input and employ genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization to find best parameter in Support Vector Regression with robust lost function. We measure the accuracy of this models by Symmetric means absolute percentage error (sMAPE) and we get the best model BORUTA-SVR-PSO with sMAPE 2.07155%. Moreover, we measure the energy conversion using Feedback Linearization Control (FLC). © International Association of Engineers.

In this paper, we present a suction cup by applying magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) that can be used for the wall climbing robot and picking application. MRE is a smart material in which the ferromagnetic particles are dispersed in the elastomer. In conventional research, MREs are often used as a vibration absorber, since the physical or mechanical properties can be altered upon the application of a magnetic field. In this paper, we focus on the expansion of the use of MRE material. When the magnetic field is added, the MRE will be attracted to the magnetic generator due to the ferromagnetic particles inside. The basic mathematical model between magnetic force and elasticity is discussed by us, which supports the working principle of building MRE suction cup. The MRE suction cup contains a permanent magnetic field generator unit and a MRE membrane unit. A servo motor is used to control the ON/OFF of the magnetic generator, so that the MRE membrane can be activated and deactivated. In this prototype, we focus on picking objects with flat surfaces as the first attempt. The proposed suction cup can achieve appropriate suction force, low noise, energy-saving. In this paper, the operation method of MREs, the design of the suction cup, and the evaluation of the prototype are conducted.

Utilization of Information Technology is increasingly high at this time requires the guarantee of any information processed by the system on a company. One of the benchmarks used is to measure the level of maturity of IT Governance. COBIT 5 becomes the main reference that is often used for these needs. But to do the assessment takes a long time because of the many processes assessed. This becomes an obstacle for a very dynamic company, the business has changed but the new assessment is completed. The authors propose a new approach using a priority model that adopts a enterprise strategy and incorporates it with a follow-up of previous IT Governance audit results. Tests have been conducted one of the state-owned enterprises in Indonesia engaged in the financial sector and has a dynamic business. The results showed that the assessment can effectively improve the quality of corporate IT objectives with the acceleration of the assessment process up to 20%. © 2018 IEEE.

The initial conditions found in infrared dark clouds (IRDCs) provide insights on how high-mass stars and stellar clusters form. We have conducted high-angular resolution and high-sensitivity observations toward thirty-nine massive IRDC clumps, which have been mosaicked using the 12 and 7 m arrays from the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array. The targets are 70 μm dark massive (220-4900 M _⊙), dense (>10⁴ cm⁻³), and cold (∼10-20 K) clumps located at distances between 2 and 6 kpc. We identify an unprecedented number of 839 cores, with masses between 0.05 and 81 M _⊙ using 1.3 mm dust continuum emission. About 55% of the cores are low-mass (<1 M _⊙), whereas ≲1% (7/839) are high-mass (≳27 M _⊙). We detect no high-mass prestellar cores. The most massive cores (MMC) identified within individual clumps lack sufficient mass to form high-mass stars without additional mass feeding. We find that the mass of the MMCs is correlated with the clump surface density, implying denser clumps produce more massive cores. There is no significant mass segregation except for a few tentative detections. In contrast, most clumps show segregation once the clump density is considered instead of mass. Although the dust continuum emission resolves clumps in a network of filaments, some of which consist of hub-filament systems, the majority of the MMCs are not found in the hubs. Our analysis shows that high-mass cores and MMCs have no preferred location with respect to low-mass cores at the earliest stages of high-mass star formation. © 2023. The Author(s). In this current digital era, the video game is favorite especially among young people. Besides widely known as a form of entertainment, some messages or lessons can be learned from a video game that may affect the players. Conscious or unconscious, games have influenced many sectors of life, and it has been recognized as a serious game and no exception to religion. Human as a living creature, like or dislike or even as an atheist should believe with something out there, and religion is as a medium which connects human with something out there. The game as a representation of entertaining, intelligent application will represent joy and happiness in human life's activities, and inevitably games will influence human religion. In the end, religion game will help the human to increase their faith in those their belief based on their religion. Similar to Information Technology which is implemented in business to increase revenue, the game as an entertaining intelligent application will increase human's faith. One kind of video game that provides it is religion video games which are the result of the incorporation between religion and video games. In this paper, we do a literature review about religion video games. We try to summarize how religious elements can be incorporated into a video game which can be seen from the parts, components, and approaches of the religion video game itself. Rationale & Objective:We aimed to study the comparative effectiveness of percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stent and coronary artery bypass grafting in patients receiving dialysis. Study Design:This was a retrospective observational cohort study. Setting & Participants:This population-based study identified patients receiving dialysis hospitalized for coronary revascularization between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2015, in the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database. Exposures:Patients received percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stent versus coronary artery bypass grafting. Outcomes:The study outcomes were all-cause mortality, in-hospital mortality, and repeat revascularization. Analytical Approach:Propensity scores were used to match patients. Cox proportional hazards models and logistic regression models were constructed to examine associations between revascularization strategies and mortality. Interval Cox models were fitted to estimate time-varying hazards during different periods. Results:A total of 1,840 propensity score-matched patients receiving dialysis were analyzed. Coronary artery bypass grafting was associated with higher in-hospital mortality (coronary artery bypass grafting vs percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stent; crude mortality rate 12.5% vs 3.3%; adjusted OR, 5.22; 95% CI, 3.42-7.97; < 0.001) and longer hospitalization duration (median [IQR], 20 [14-30] days vs 3 [2-8] days; < 0.001). After discharge, repeat revascularization, acute coronary syndrome, and repeat hospitalization all occurred more frequently in the percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stent group. Importantly, with a median follow-up of 2.8 years, coronary artery bypass grafting was significantly associated with a higher risk of all-cause overall mortality (adjusted HR, 1.19; 95% CI, 1.05-1.35; = 0.006) in the multivariable Cox proportional hazard model.
