Digital health can assist health professionals in monitoring elderly individuals after hospital discharge using technology, techniques, and practices that provide environments conducive to autonomy, comfort, and safety for already vulnerable patients. This article aims to describe the process of modeling and designing an m-health solution that includes features for monitoring elderly patients post-discharge. The method applied was a case study, analyzing the reality of a hospital institution in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The target audience for this study comprised elderly individuals with preserved cognitive functions and health professionals involved in the hospital discharge process. The modeling of the m-health solution prototype followed the User-Centered Design method. Data collection instruments included questionnaires, interviews, and observations focusing on the two target groups. As a result, we developed a prototype, characterized by an m-health solution with relevant functions to facilitate post-hospital discharge management. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

health assistance depends essentially on effective information providing for professionals. Presently visual information plays an outstanding role concerning patients’ status without necessity of invading procedures. The diagnosis related to stage and texture in pressure ulcers (PU) is considered as a classification procedure, based on the image colors. As a training set this study captured 18 PU images from nine persons. RGB mean values were adopted as features to characterize the images. Classification used an ID3 similar algorithm. It achieved 83.3% accuracy concerning color and stage, as well as 88.9% concerning color and texture. So the technique was effective for automatic determination of PU stage and PU texture based on its color. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The interaction of fast charged particles with graphene layers can generate electromagnetic modes. This wake effect has been recently proposed for short-wavelength, high-gradient particle acceleration and for obtaining brilliant radiation sources. In this study, the excitation of wakefields produced by a point-like charged particle moving parallel to a multilayer graphene array (which may be supported by an insulated substrate) is studied using the linearized hydrodynamic theory. General expressions for the excited longitudinal and transverse wakefields have been derived. The dependencies of the wakefields on the positions of the layers and the substrate, the velocity and the surface density have been extensively analyzed. This study provides a deeper understanding of the physical phenomena underlying plasmonic excitations in graphene layers, paving the way for potential applications of these structures in particle acceleration, nanotechnology and materials science. © 2025, CC BY-NC-ND.

Good health services require adequate human resources, especially nursing personnel during a pandemic. To produce quality human resources in the health sector, a quality learning process is needed in health education institutions. One of the steps that can be taken to achieve this is to transform online and mobile-based nursing education. Technological developments have changed the way applications developed. Application users have also experienced changes by prioritizing mobile-based applications. This change makes application developers look for new methods in developing applications that can be used effectively. This article presented a study that applies the principles of agile mobile application development. The agile methodology used in this study is SCRUM for application development. This study prepared a mobile-based learning application that will be used by nursing students. The development of this application uses an agile methodology. This paper discusses Scrum's use in developing mobile-based applications that will be used in the nursing department's learning environment. The requirements are deliberately modified to provoke changes to the software being developed. Our findings revealed that agile practices were capable of assisting mobile software development. The advantage of this method was the ease of managing the project. control, and speed of development. However, aspects of user interface and user experience, different development platforms, and user expectations still represented the challenges in developing mobile applications. © 2020 ACM.

information systems are the basis used as support for the company's business strategy. In the application of information systems, information system risk management needs to be done. In carrying out information system risk management, assessment is needed. The IT department of Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia company has a target of completing 600 tickets every month. The number of tickets that exceed the target of the IT department, has a gap to be a factor that influences the risk of information systems. The research was conducted to find information system risk factors and build an information system risk management assessment model. The method used in this research is confirmatory factor analysis. The factor influencing information risk is the threat factor to infrastructure. The formed model that can be used for risk management information system assessment is P = 6,934 + 1,184 X4. System risk can be said to be ideal if the company can reduce the threat factor to infrastructure, so that the risk of information systems can be minimized. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This research focuses on the development of mobile learning applications in nursing education in Indonesia. Using the BeeDa application, which is a learning application for nursing students as a complement to blended learning. Blended learning is an integration between classroom learning, online learning and mobile learning. BeeDa facilitates students in accessing learning resources easily, anytime and anywhere. This study describes the design and implementation stages related to the development of BeeDa. Experimental data were collected using a questionnaire to nursing students. The evaluation results show that the BeeDa application is easy to use and useful in supporting learning, so it has the potential to improve learning achievement. © 2021 ACM.

The goals of the paper were to describe were and find the relations between numbers of available public transportation and traffic congestion and other variables that can reduce traffic congestion in Jakarta. The data that used in the simulation were provided by DKI Jakarta Provincial Statistics Agency from view years ago. To analyze the problem, System Dynamics are used to simulate the condition in the future using the models created based on relations between several variables. The results of the analysis shows that numbers of available public transportation cannot reduce traffic congestion if the numbers of private transportation weren't decreased. It can be concluded that government must force their citizen to reduce the number of private transportation by increasing the inflation supported by increasing numbers of available public transportation to accommodate deficit in transportation while building new roads to accommodate transportation growth in the future. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Airport runway designs must consider wind climatology to reduce the potential for crosswind and tailwind events that can cause accidents and aircraft delays. The large potential of crosswind and tailwind on a runway at the airport is very detrimental to aircraft passengers and airlines. Therefore, it is necessary to know the potential of crosswind and tailwind on the runway of Soekarno Hatta Airport and find the right parameters for the approximate direction and speed of the wind on the airport runway. Analysis was carried out using the direction and wind speed data from the Soekarno Hatta meteorological station in 2007-2017 to determine the potential for crosswind and tailwind on the runway of Soekarno Hatta airport and run a Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) weather model to determine the parameterization of the right weather model for wind forecast at Soekarno Hatta airport. The highest maximum crosswind component in the 2007-2017 period occurred in August 30.53 knots, while the highest maximum tailwind of 25 knots occurred in January for a 250-degree runway and 24 knots occurred in August for a 070-degree runway. The potential for crosswind and tailwind is different every month. The scheme produces forecasts of wind direction and speed with a strong level of correlation with observations of wind direction and speed from the Soekarno Hatta meteorological station, the correlation value is 0.61. The most significant social impact of plane delays is time loss for passengers. While the economic impact on one of the crosswind events at Soekarno Hatta airport was an economic loss for one airline of US $ 43,392. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Meteorological influences on dengue transmission in Pakistan

Objective: To identify the influences of local and regional climate phenomena on dengue transmission in Lahore District of Pakistan, from 2006 to 2014. Methods: Time-series models were applied to analyze associations between reported cases of dengue and climatic parameters. The coherence trend of regional climate phenomena(IOD and ENSO) was evaluated with wavelet analysis. Results: The minimum temperature 4 months before the dengue outbreak played the most important role in the Lahore District(P=0.03). A NINO 3.4 index 9 months before the outbreaks exhibited a significant negative effect on dengue transmission(P=0.02). The IOD exhibited a synchronized pattern with dengue outbreak from 2010 to 2012. The ENSO effect(NINO 3.4 index) might have played a more important role after 2012. Conclusions: This study provides preliminary results of climate influences on dengue transmission in the Lahore District of Pakistan. An increasing dengue transmission risk accompanied by frequent climate changes should be noted. Integrating the influences of climate variability into disease prevention strategies should be considered by public health authorities.
