Since the emergence of Pokémon Go in 2016, the world has been introduced to Augmented Reality (AR) games. Many IT companies have begun developing augmented reality (AR) games due to the great commercial potential in this industry. Certain products may have managed to remain viable in the market, while others were forced to close due to one or two factors. Since the emergence of Pokémon Go, no other game has managed to surpass its unprecedented success. The company responsible for developing Pokémon Go has decided to shut down one of their games due to a lack of consumer interest. The technology of augmented reality (AR) is consistently associated with the concept of immersion. Immersion is a key aspect of the game that allows users to deeply engage and feel fully involved in the experience. This study will employ a quantitative methodology, utilising a questionnaire that will be distributed to and completed by those who have engaged in augmented reality (AR) games. The data will be analysed using Smart PLS to examine the impact of user experience on immersion, which in turn influences intention. After gathering over 200 participants by spreading google form questionnaires and doing data analysis, the findings indicate that only a few aspects of user experience, namely Brand Experience and User Need Experience, have an impact on reasons. Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go, was unable to replicate their success with a similar augmented reality game called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. The initial release occurred on June 21, 2019, and the shutdown took place on December 21, 2021. In the beginning, they shown a profound enthusiasm for the game but were unable to sustain it, much as Pokémon Go. We investigated the effect of white noise on working memory performance using electroencephalography (EEG). Six healthy subjects participated in this study, and each subject performed a 2-back task under white noise and no sound conditions. After a series of EEG preprocessing, the amplitude of event-related potential (ERP) was calculated. The results indicated an increase in average accuracy and mean P300 amplitude during the white noise condition compared to without it, suggesting that white noise might enhance working memory performance. However, due to the limited number of participants, statistical power was not attained. In our future studies, we will perform additional experiments with more subjects.

In this paper, we consider a scheduling issue for parcel delivery and pickup services by a truck-drone last-mile delivery system. We are given a single carrier truck and multiple identical drones to serve a finite set of customers. The single carrier truck plays the role of a mobile depot for the drones, and it visits several stops in a given order of them. The given order of stops constitutes a fixed truck route, and the carrier truck is allowed to launch (resp., to retrieve) a drone to (resp., from) a customer at a stop. For each sortie of a drone, the launching stop and the retrieving stop must be the same. The load capacity of a drone is limited to one, and for a sortie of a drone at a stop, there are three options: (i) only deliver a parcel to a customer, (ii) only pick up a parcel from a customer, and (iii) deliver a parcel to a customer, and then pick up a parcel from a customer. The scheduling problem asks to find an assignment of customers to drones with sortie options and a choice of a truck stop for each sortie in the assignment. The objective is to minimize the total duration of the carrier truck over all the stops, which is equivalent to minimizing the makespan. In this paper, we first propose an extended integer program for the case with both delivery and pickup services from an existing one for the case with delivery service only. We also conduct numerical experiments to demonstrate the solution quality of the proposed integer program by utilizing an integer programming solver, and report the results.

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) excel in delineating graph structures in diverse domains, including community analysis and recommendation systems. As the interpretation of GNNs becomes increasingly important, the demand for robust baselines and expansive graph datasets is accentuated, particularly in the context of Heterogeneous information Networks (HIN). Addressing this, we introduce SynHING, a novel framework for Synthetic Heterogeneous information Network Generation aimed at enhancing graph learning and explanation. SynHING systematically identifies major motifs in a target HIN and employs a bottom-up generation process with intra-cluster and inter-cluster merge modules. This process, supplemented by post-pruning techniques, ensures the synthetic HIN closely mirrors the original graph’s structural and statistical properties. Crucially, SynHING provides ground-truth motifs for evaluating GNN explainer models, setting a new standard for explainable, synthetic HIN generation and contributing to the advancement of interpretable machine learning in complex networks. This study presents a deep learning framework optimizing 3D clothing models for VR, using a CNN to significantly reduce the triangle count of models from DeepFashion3D and CAP-UDF datasets. Achieving a balance between efficiency and detail, it cuts triangle count from over 160,000 to below 4,000, maintaining high DPI. The approach automates optimization, promising scalability and efficiency in VR fashion, setting a foundation for future 3D content development, enhancing virtual garment realism and interactivity.

eLearning has been utilized as a mode of instruction among medical students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The present study aimed to investigate the factors influencing the acceptance of eLearning platforms in medical education during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines by employing the latent variables of UTAUT2, along with two additional latent variables gathered from various related literature. A sum of 360 medical students participated and answered an online survey that consists of 40 questions. A stepwise multiple linear regression was utilized and found that performance expectancy (PE), habit (HB), and instructor characteristics (IC), can successfully predict the actual use (AU) of medical students with a precision of 54.22%. A higher performance expectancy (PE), habit (HB), and instructor characteristics (IC) can enhance and promote the acceptance of medical eLearning platforms. This is the first study that has examined the acceptance of eLearning platforms among medical students in the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic. The outcomes of this research can serve as guidelines for the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines for the enhancement of eLearning platforms. Although this study only utilized the latent variables of UTAUT2 along with two additional variables: Learning Value and Instructor Characteristics;the findings of this study would still hold significant value for promoting open innovation in eLearning platforms in medical fields worldwide. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s). The process of using ICT to provide services to the public is known as the Indonesian e-Government system, or Sistem Pemerintahan Berbasis Elektronik (SPBE). The e-Government initiative in Jakarta Provincial Health Office involves enhancing collaboration among public health entities for efficient data exchange and streamlined processes, especially between the Provincial and District Health Offices, public hospitals, government clinics, and primary health care centers (Puskesmas). Achieving interoperability requires standardized protocols and a well-defined architectural model to integrate data seamlessly. This study presents a provincial-level architectural model focused on improving electronic health records interoperability, aiming to promote the adoption of the national Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) health information exchange platform and enhance the integrity of health data in Jakarta. The study methodology involves conducting literature reviews, observations, and discussions with representatives from healthcare facilities to develop the e-Government architecture model and prototype of the infrastructure layer aiming to facilitate the interoperability of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) across 93 healthcare facilities, all of which are part of the SPBE users.

While several content management systems (CMS) and audience analytics tools are available for digital signage in the market, they are often sold separately and can be expensive. Therefore, this project aims to design a cost-effective and unified web-based solution for digital signage that combines content management and audience analytics functions, reducing the need for multiple purchases. This can be achieved by utilizing Raspberry Pi technology, known for its cost-effectiveness and versatility in integrations, along with a face recognition camera and machine learning methods. This proof of concept demonstrates the integration of these components to create a dynamic digital signage system. Overall, this project has the potential to offer an affordable solution for companies aiming to efficiently manage and optimize their digital marketing strategies, especially in the Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) Advertising space. © 2023 IEEE.

The objective of this study was to develop an auditory stimulation method that can improve concentration and to investigate its neurophysiological effects using electrocardiography (ECG). The auditory stimulus was developed by mixing the sound of white noise with dynamic binaural beats (DBB) that featured time-varying carrier frequencies. The experimental paradigm involved conducting an association memory (AM) task and a mental arithmetic (MA) task to assess cognitive performance. In the behavioral results, no significant differences were confirmed between the two experimental conditions (sound vs. no sound) for both cognitive tasks. In the AM task, no significant differences in HRV change between the baseline and task were observed between the two conditions. However, during the MA task, there was a significant decrease in HRV when participants were exposed to the auditory stimulation compared to when it was not.
