The haircut art community is a community that is interested in the art of hair or hair-related issues and information. This haircut art community has several members, but they need the application of technology to support their hobby as a community. In this mobile application, a system where users can make transactions connected to the haircut community has been proposed. Users can make online appointments with barbers' haircuts, make online payments, engage with forums, and get information about the barbershop community. In addition, this mobile app will allow people in the community to sell and buy anything related to haircuts. In addition, it is hoped that it can be used as an income opportunity for people who have expertise in the art of barbering. This application is implemented using visual studio and MySQL database for the database. This application is modeled using use case diagrams to describe its business processes and class diagrams to describe the database design. © 2022 IEEE.

We have successfully demonstrated, for the first time, an innovative back-end-of-line (BEOL) compatible electro-optic modulator and memory (EOMM) based on Lithium Niobate on Insulator (LNOI) micro-ring resonator (MRR) integrated with Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconate Hf0.5Zr0.5O (HZO) non-volatile analog memory. High non-volatile memory and modulation performances are both achieved in a single compact device, exhibiting high extinction ratio of 13.3 dB, excellent efficiency of 66pm/V, stable nine-state switching, record-high endurance exceeding 109 cycles. This is accomplished by utilizing Pockels effect in LNOI, induced by electric-field effect from remnant HZO ferroelectric polarization. We studied the system implementation of reconfigurable chiplet-interposer photonic interconnect, enabled by the EOMM and EOMM with hybrid thermal-optical modulation. Our model shows a potential 70% energy efficiency improvement over conventional electrical interposer interconnect. We have also tested the integration of the EOMM with POET technologies' 400G Tx/Rx optical interposer chip and studied a limited scale demonstration of the EOMM device. © 2023 IEEE.

Banking and Fintech are encouraged to collaborate to fill each other's deficiencies and further grow the digital economy. This collaboration will create benefits for both banks, Fintech, and customers. However, this collaboration also comes with risks. The Financial Services Authority has stated that several risk phenomena can occur in the collaboration of banks and Fintech. First, no law guarantees the protection and exchange of customer personal data. Second, the risk of customer data leakage. Third, the risk of cyberattacks. The fourth is the risk of outsourcing. This research aims to analyze the risk phenomenon of bank and fintech collaboration through the Enterprise Risk Management Framework approach. This study uses a phenomenological research approach, which is a study to study how individuals subjectively experience and give meaning to the phenomenon. Data analysis based on this phenomenon data uses qualitative methods involving banking and fintech practitioners. The results of this study describe the phenomenon of risks that occur in banking-fintech collaboration, as approached by the Enterprise Risk Management framework. Proper risk management will minimize risks when the Bank collaborates with FinTech. This study hopefully contributes to making brief policy recommendations on bank and fintech collaboration risk management for Indonesian financial regulators.

In real world applications of multiclass classification models, misclassification in an important class (e.g., stop sign) can be significantly more harmful than in other classes (e.g., no parking). Thus, it is crucial to improve the recall of an important class while maintaining overall accuracy. For this problem, we found that improving the separation of important classes relative to other classes in the feature space is effective. Existing methods that give a class-sensitive penalty for cross-entropy loss do not improve the separation. Moreover, the methods designed to improve separations between all classes are unsuitable for our purpose because they do not consider the important classes. To achieve the separation, we propose a loss function that explicitly gives loss for the feature space, called class-sensitive additive angular margin (CAMRI) loss. CAMRI loss is expected to reduce the variance of an important class due to the addition of a penalty to the angle between the important class features and the corresponding weight vectors in the feature space. In addition, concentrating the penalty on only the important class hardly sacrifices separating the other classes. Experiments on CIFAR-10, GTSRB, and AwA2 showed that CAMRI loss could improve the recall of a specific class without sacrificing accuracy. In particular, compared with GTSRB's second-worst class recall when trained with cross-entropy loss, CAMRI loss improved recall by 9%. © 2023 The Institute of Electronics, information and Communication Engineers.

This study aimed to identify electroencephalography (EEG)-based neurophysiological biomarkers for monitoring mental fatigue during motor imagery (MI) tasks. We used EEG data recorded from 29 healthy adults during MI tasks. For the preprocessing of the EEG data, we sequentially performed down-sampling into 200 Hz, independent component analysis (ICA), band-pass filtering between 0.5 and 50 Hz, and common average reference (CAR). The preprocessed EEG data were analyzed using a fast Fourier transform (FFT) to calculate spectral power in the δ (0.5-3 Hz), θ (4–7 Hz), $a$ (8–13 Hz), and β (13–30 Hz) frequency bands. Subsequently, seventeen fatigue-related metrics were calculated using individual spectral powers and their combinations. These fatigue-related metrics were averaged for the frontal lobe (F3 and F4), central lobe (FCC3h and FCC4h), parietal lobe (P3 and P4), and occipital lobe (POO1 and POO2). The statistical significance of the average fatigue metrics was evaluated through Pearson correlation analysis with the sequence of trials. As a result, we observed strong positive correlations (r < 0.9, p < 0.001) between beta power in the frontal and central regions and the sequence of trials. These findings suggest that central and frontal beta activity can serve as reliable biomarkers for estimating fatigue during MI tasks, supporting their potential for real-time fatigue monitoring.

Instant queue occupancy used for automatic traffic scheduling in data center networks

Datacenter applications desire low latency for short messages to provide a better user experience. Therefore, one of the goals of datacenter networks is to minimize flow completion time (FCT), especially for short flows. Multiple scheduling disciplines have been proposed to achieve this goal. In this paper, we develop a Dynamic Longer Stay Less Priority (D-LSLP) which looks at the current queue occupancy to adjust the demotion threshold for the packets of the flows arriving in the strict priority queues. Initially, D-LSLP considers every flow to be a short flow, and with the passage of time, the flow is demoted to the lower priority queue, similar to Multilevel Feedback Queue (MLFQ) Scheduling. It enables short flows to be completed in a couple of higher-priority queues. In contrast, large flows are demoted to the lower priority queues after remaining active in the queues for a certain amount of time (demotion threshold). However, for the different traffic patterns with different distribution of flow lengths, the demotion threshold for the flows should be adapted automatically. In this paper, we leverage the programmable nature of the P4 switches to measure the instant queue occupancy in the P4, which can be used to adjust the demotion threshold accordingly for the highest priority queue. This enables D-LSLP to increase or decrease its highest priority demotion threshold based on the instant queue status. D-LSLP allows multiple traffic patterns to coexist without manually tuning the demotion thresholds. Furthermore, it reduces the tail drop in the highest priority queue when many short flows overwhelm the highest priority queue. The performance evaluation shows that it works equally well for different traffic patterns without operator intervention. © 2024

Electromagnetic nondestructive inspection for high-speed moving ferromagnetic materials is necessary for manufacturing efficiency. In this paper, we present a novel leakage magnetic flux (LMF) method to estimate the crack position in a moving cylindrical ferromagnetic rod. The method directly measures the first-order Fourier coefficients of the LMF moving with the crack by using only two coils with DC excitation. The location of a crack is estimated by the proposed method, as demonstrated for an S45C cylindrical rod.

This paper discusses the design and implementation process of mobile applications used by nurses to communicate with the elderly or with people appointed to represent the elderly in using this mobile application. This mobile application is expected to help caregivers or nurses monitor the health condition of the elderly, and this mobile application has several functions that make it complete. These functions include submitting weekly reports, communicating with others via forums, and providing relevant information about the elderly and how to deal with them, including news and government regulations on elderly care. This mobile application uses case diagrams to describe business processes and class diagrams to illustrate database design. As for the implementation, android studio and MySQL database are used for database storage. This paper is limited to 9 references for literature review previous similar research by searching for publication titles with the sentences 'mobile application'+elderly+care using quotation marks and without quotation marks for the words elderly and care for all years of publication. © 2022 IEEE.

Today, manga has gained worldwide popularity. However, the question of how various elements of manga, such as characters, text, and panel layouts, reflect the uniqueness of a particular work, or even define it, remains an unexplored area. In this paper, we aim to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the visual characteristics of manga works, with a particular focus on panel layout features. As a research method, we used facing page images of manga as input to train a deep learning model for predicting manga titles, examining classification accuracy to quantitatively analyze these features. Specifically, we conducted ablation studies by limiting page image information to panel frames to analyze the characteristics of panel layouts. Through a series of quantitative experiments using all 104 works, 12 genres, and 10,122 facing page images from the Manga109 dataset, as well as qualitative analysis using Grad-CAM, our study demonstrates that the uniqueness of manga works is strongly reflected in their panel layouts. © 2024, CC BY.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of secretarial, financial and staffing information systems at the Directorate General of AHU, known as the E-PASTI system. There are two variables analysed, namely system quality and information quality. Data collection using questionnaires that distributed to 123 employees who used the E-PASTI system but returned 93 questionnaires. Data quality analyst uses descriptive quantitative method. The results of the study are several conditions related to the system and information quality of E-PASTI. The quality can be a reference for the AHU Directorate General to improve the quality of E-PASTI that suits the needs of employees. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
