The aim of this study was to create an application for smartphones for chronic kidney disease (CKD). The development of the application was conducted in three phases: data collection, conception and development of an application called "Renal Health". In the first phase, a literature review was conducted to ground the necessity of a tool to teach the general population about CKD and to give support to CKD patients in their treatment. Semi-structured interviews were then conducted with CKD patients (in hemodialysis or kidney transplant) and the general population to enhance out understanding of the main knowledge gaps about kidney disease. Individuals without CKD reported not knowing the disease (66.7%). Patients on hemodialysis reported difficulties with medication intake and diet (>50%). Transplanted patients had no problems with medication intake and showed to want more nutritional advices. After the development of the application, an usability test was done with CKD patients and specialists to evaluate its clarity and performance, and its acceptance was 89.6%. The use of Renal Health application can be an important tool for the general population, for knowledge acquisition, patients, health care workers, as well as patients’ family and caregivers of elderly and children patients. A scalable chatbot platform leveraging online community posts: A proof-of-concept study

The development of natural language processing algorithms and the explosive growth of conversational data are encouraging researches on the human-computer conversation. Still, getting qualified conversational data on a large scale is difficult and expensive. In this paper, we verify the feasibility of constructing a data-driven chatbot with processed online community posts by using them as pseudo-conversational data. We argue that chatbots for various purposes can be built extensively through the pipeline exploiting the common structure of community posts. Topological insulating phases are usually found in periodic lattices stemming from collective resonant effects, and it may thus be expected that similar features may be prohibited in thermal diffusion, given its purely dissipative and largely incoherent nature. We report the diffusion-based topological states supported by spatiotemporally-modulated advections stacked over a fluidic surface, thereby imitating a periodic propagating potential in effective thermal lattices. We observe edge and bulk states within purely nontrivial and trivial lattices, respectively. At interfaces between these two types of lattices, the diffusive system exhibits interface states, manifesting inhomogeneous thermal properties on the fluidic surface. Our findings establish a framework for topological diffusion and thermal edge/bulk states, and it may empower a distinct mechanism for flexible manipulation of robust heat and mass transfer. © 2021, CC BY.

The decision to determine whether or not a journal to be published in Majalah Kedokteran Nusantara can be decided by using the Decision Support System with certain methods. One of methods used is fuzzy logic method and is applied to the Microsoft Visual Basic programming language. From the results of the research, the first step that must be done in determining a journal is published was to identify the problem and to determine how to evaluate the quality of the journal which is done by calculating the parameter values of the variables that have been determined by the editorial board. The parameters used in the calculation were title of articles, abstract, background, content, conclusions and bibliography. The conclusions obtained from the research is to building a decision support system to determine a journal published in Majalah Kedokteran Nusantara using fuzzy logic method was not so difficult to do, because it utilized Fis Sugeno Matlab application and by using fuzzy logic methods and utilizing fuzzyfication to get linguistic variables were very helpful in determining how a journal is published. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In light of the recent data for B¯(s)→D(s)(*)P and B¯(s)→D(s)V decays, we perform a model-independent phenomenological analysis in the presence of quasielastic rescattering. With the Wilson coefficients including contributions beyond the standard model, the lifetimes of the B meson and Bd0−B¯d0 mixing are investigated to clarify correlations among the observables. We show that parameter regions for quasielastic rescattering, the size of color-suppressed tree amplitudes, and new physics are constrained due to the lifetime data. As a consequence, it is revealed that this scenario can be tested by the future LHCb measurement of the width difference in Bd0−B¯d0 mixing and semileptonic CP asymmetry.

The trade-off between long-term memory and smoothness for recurrent networks

Training recurrent neural networks (RNNs) that possess long-term memory is challenging. We provide insight into the trade-off between the smoothness of the cost function and the memory retention capabilities of the network. We express both aspects in terms of the Lipschitz constant of the dynamics modeled by the network. This allows us to make a distinction between three types of regions in the parameter space. In the first region, the network experiences problems in retaining long-term information, while at the same time the cost function is smooth and easy for gradient descent to navigate in. In the second region, the amount of stored information increases with time and the cost function is intricate and full of local minima. The third region is in between the two other regions and here the RNN is able to retain long-term information. Based on these theoretical findings we present the hypothesis that good parameter choices for the RNN are located in between the well-behaved and the ill-behaved cost function regions. This paper proposes a novel standing assistance scheme that guides a subject to adopt a suitable posture using intended movements and voice messages. In much previous research, an assistive robot requires the patient to understand the standing reference beforehand and generally, the subject learns the standing motion used by the robot. However, for practical use, a patient should be able to use an assistive robot without special prior knowledge. Nursing specialists also guide their patients with an intended movement and a voice message. For example, when they incline a patient's upper body before lifting it up, they notify the patient of a motion start with simpler words and guide the patient's body with a special moving pattern. Therefore, in this paper, we develop a standing assistance scheme that guides the patient to stand in the intended way based on skills of these nursing specialists. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by experiments with our prototype.
