Dementia is a very common disease among the elderly, and its main symptom is cognitive dysfunction. Relevant research suggests that the course of dementia can be delayed through non-pharmacological intervention. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to develop a cognitive training system with the aid of digital technology to help people with dementia strengthen their brain and slow their cognitive function degradation. This research cooperates with the Changhua Christian Hospital in Taiwan, and the research subjects are a total of 16 mild dementia patients with an average age of 79.6 years old, who are divided into a traditional group and a digital group. The experimental tool is the "Recall" digital cognitive application system, as developed by this research, which includes sharing nostalgic storytelling and the introduction of technology for cognitive training. There are five types of systematic cognitive training questions: quiz questions, calculation questions, puzzle questions, weight questions, and silhouette questions, which mainly train memory, logic, and concentration. After treatment, the subjects are investigated via behavior observation, questionnaires, and interviews to learn their perceptions of the usability and experience of digital cognitive application systems for patients with dementia, and the Pearson correlation coefficient is used to analyze the relevance of the four factors of the experience, namely, feel, sense, relate, and think. The results show that the experience of using this system is significantly related in the factors of sense, relate, and think. On the whole, the application system developed in this research should have benefit in the introduction of technology into reminiscence therapy for patients with mild dementia via cognitive training through games. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Most industrialized countries have been able to insert innovation into their national agendas, leveraging competitiveness, economic growth and social development. Well structured national innovation systems run across all the innovation value chain: from the transfer of ideas or inventions, to their commercialization as high value and differentiated products or services, producing high economic and social impacts In developing countries, the circumstances are quite different. There are weak liaisons, low trust and poor association between economic generators (companies) and their supporting institutions (government, federations, banks and academies). Regions are not electronically prepared (e-readiness) to support the infrastructure required for the effective formation of clusters (e-readiness). Innovation is not perceived as an asset, and high value entrepreneurship is not a common finding in the entrepreneurial profiles of most professionals. There are no world class industrial enabling conditions, nor high value core capabilities, and the digital economies are creating large digital development divides instead of business opportunities. In general, the economic gap between rich countries and poor ones widens every day. To help alleviate this situation, we have developed the WIT Model (Wealth creation through Innovation and enabling Technologies). This model has been designed to create the necessary and sufficient enabling conditions and core capabilities to empower developing regions to transform their scarce resources and hostile conditions, into attractive regions with competitive industries and innovative companies, capable of producing great added and differential values, strongly interrelated with their regional social capital, so that they can compete globally as extended networks of value, and share their economic value among their local communities. The present climate that UK companies face is quite volatile. Organisations are now focusing on their core competencies (doing what they are best at) and outsourcing most other activities. Administration functions of some service organisations are also being outsourced to specialists here in the UK and abroad. In order that UK organisations achieve world class levels of competitiveness the DTI's UK Manufacturing Strategy identified an urgent need for the systematic implementation of 'best practices' such as lean practices and other World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies. The paper uses a case study methodology to test and analyse a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) specific framework. Classification of the Structural Integrity by the General Vibration Method

Traditionally, for the purpose of classifying the integrity of an engineering structure, one may use the information of the natural frequencies or mode shapes or some other measures derived from the two. In this research, we propose a classification method on the basis of the general vibration model. The general vibration model is essentially a set of differential equations describing the dynamics of the structure under consideration. For the purpose of damage detection, a deviation of the general vibration model from the dynamic equilibrium point marks the occurrence of the damage. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the method, we study two simplest dynamical systems consisting of one- and two-concentrated masses subjected to a prescribed dynamic load. The structural damages are introduced artificially by reducing the stiffness of spring in the structures. We find that the general vibration model is more sensitive to damages than the traditional methods.

A Study of the Sensitivity of the Fuel Consumption to Driving Strategy by Micro Simulation

Global warming due to excessive emission greenhouse gases is a significant issue faced by humanity, and collectively, cars and trucks contribute about 20% to the entire global-warming gases. For a reason, recently, many attempts have been endured to reduce the emission and to increase fuel efficiency, including vehicle platooning, better driving strategy, and increasing engine efficiency. This study intends to provide a more detail assessment regarding the effects of the driving strategy to fuel consumption. For the purpose, the vehicle dynamics are quantified by employing the car-following model based on the optimal velocity model. The fuel consumption is estimated from the regression model of Ahn 18 . The result suggests that the braking distance strongly affects fuel consumption.

The energy sector in developing countries plays a key role in their socio-economic development. The sector is facing many challenges, including the escalating demand on energy, the high cost of fuel, importing energy or fuel from external markets, and the unreliable energy supplies. Moving towards renewable energy is also meeting difficulties, especially in terms of delivering the energy needed with reasonable costs. Strategic planning approach is utilized to guide moving towards renewable energy in the developing countries. The aim of this research is to explore the proper measures to deal with the identified key factors that affect progress towards renewable energy, and formulate a strategic framework to support shifting towards renewable energy in the developing countries. Palestine is taken as the case study that could be considered as an example of a lower-middle income developing country. Proper analysis is conducted for the energy sector in Palestine considering the SWOT approach, considering the internal status and the external environment. Based on such analysis, the proposed framework for strategic planning for renewable energy is formulated. The framework has identified the goals and objectives, as well as the strategies and actions. The output of this study would lay the foundation to debate and adopt the framework in partnership with other stakeholders. Key strategies are defined including those in the economic, technical, organizational, regulatory, and behavioural areas.

Due to a widely use of XML language in various application domains, a well-established mechanism for the definition and enforcement of security controls on specific accesses to XML documents is demanded, in order to ensure that only authorized entities can perform certain actions on the protected data. The proposed rule-based, declarative approach supports definition of (possibly implicit and complex) authorization rules on particular nodes within a document as well as enforcement of multiple user-defined policies, specifying selected mechanisms to resolve conflicts or to apply default authorization. Moreover, by founded on both RDF and XDD theory, the developed approach yields a simple yet flexible and interchangeable XML access control model with well-defined declarative semantics. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2003.

With the advancement of technology, people constantly use IT through the Internet. In this modern living environment, many individuals exploit this technological landscape for illegal gains and criminal activities. Judicial investigation units gather relevant evidence from the crime scene and process it when a crime occurs. When the medium used in criminal activity involves information technology, it is referred to as digital evidence. Unlike traditional evidence, which leaves traces if moved or altered, digital evidence can be copied without any detectable changes, posing challenges to maintaining its integrity and accuracy. This article explores how digital identification can ensure that the content of a report matches the evidence seized at the scene. It also addresses how the validity of digital evidence, as presented by the investigating authority, can be upheld in court. Additionally, it discusses the use of digital evidence and electronic handwritten signatures to enhance evidence preservation measures. © 2024 IEEE.

Banking and Fintech are encouraged to collaborate to fill each other's deficiencies and further grow the digital economy. This collaboration will create benefits for both banks, Fintech, and customers. However, this collaboration also comes with risks. The Financial Services Authority has stated that several risk phenomena can occur in the collaboration of banks and Fintech. First, no law guarantees the protection and exchange of customer personal data. Second, the risk of customer data leakage. Third, the risk of cyberattacks. The fourth is the risk of outsourcing. This research aims to analyze the risk phenomenon of bank and fintech collaboration through the Enterprise Risk management Framework approach. This study uses a phenomenological research approach, which is a study to study how individuals subjectively experience and give meaning to the phenomenon. Data analysis based on this phenomenon data uses qualitative methods involving banking and fintech practitioners. The results of this study describe the phenomenon of risks that occur in banking-fintech collaboration, as approached by the Enterprise Risk management framework. Proper risk management will minimize risks when the Bank collaborates with FinTech. This study hopefully contributes to making brief policy recommendations on bank and fintech collaboration risk management for Indonesian financial regulators.

In the past decade, it stated that the discourse on Sustainable Development and the Financial technology(FinTech) role in the financial and banking industries, has attention on researchers, practitioners, regulators, and policymakers. The real problem arises from the discourse on whether FinTech has an effect on sustainable development in the financial and banking industry in Indonesia. This discourse needed to be understood better and more deeply. For credible research results, it is necessary to use a mixedmethod research approach. This research aims to develop a model that will help uncover the phenomenon of FinTech to sustainable development in the Financial and Banking Industry in Indonesia, using mixed methods research. In this study, Exploratory Sequential Mixed Method used as a type of mixedmethod approach. The main results of this study reveal that FinTech, which is influenced by business drivers, has a significant role in sustainable development in the Financial and Banking Industry in Indonesia. The contribution of this research can provide insight and understanding for researchers and practitioners in the financial and banking industry who want to implement a sustainable development model based on FinTech in more depth.
