The growth of micro, small and medium enterprises of fashion industry in Bandung is very rapidly and thus the industry has to face the growing competitiveness challenge. The implementation of ERP is considered to be a strategy to support sales growth, increase management ability, enhance marketing network and also strengthen the company competitiveness. In order to be effectively implemented to achieve the goals, the ERP modules requirements are necessary to be identified based on the business process in the micro, small and medium enterprises of fashion Industry. This research is conducted using case study method in eight micro, small and medium fashion enterprises in Bandung. As the references, the business process from Process Classification Framework from American Productivity Quality Centre (PCF-APQC) for Consumer Product, PCF-APQC for Retail, and business process from the previous research are used. While the ERP used as the benchmark is the integration of SAP Apparel and Footwear Solution and SAP Retail as one of the best available technology. The result advices that functionally, the ERP system for micro, small and medium fashion enterprises needs to include product design and development modules, product marketing and selling, procurement and production, human resources management, retail shop management, and finance and accounting modules. For fashion enterprises with different size, it tends to require different level of completeness of ERP module components. The bigger the size of the fashion enterprise, it needs more complete module components based on the main and additional business processes. Whilst, for nonfunctional demand, the micro, small and medium fashion industry desires ERP with the affordable price, having the drill down ability to display data related to production and selling based on the season/collection, able to do product categorization based on the various grouping criteria, the easily understood user interface, and also practical and

The abductive inference model has been discussed in the context of business strategy. However, the model seems unrealistic for applications in the real business world. Therefore, this study improves the model by formalizing experimental case studies in a web-based workplace for generating product ideas. The developed model implies the needs for visualizing human's thought process to create hypothesis and rules in product planning is a clue to designing data market place.

In many industries, a usual business model has a problem to realize mass customization, because it is difficult to satisfy the diversified customer needs. Total supply chain optimization is formulated as a stochastic programming problem, and then it is difficult to obtain a better solution for it. In this paper, we have proposed a new hybrid dynamical system of convolution gradient dynamics and swarm intelligence for finding a better optimal solution. Dynamics of convolution gradient has been derived in neural network framework. Swarm intelligence is the optimization technique based on the action of groups, such as birds, fish, and a colony of ants. From a theoretical point of view, we show how to combine them. The proposed hybrid algorithm can realize the interpolation search which is the mechanism of the dynamics of local search and global search. In numerical examples, we show that the proposed model can behave better dynamics for test functions and application of total supply chain optimization. © 2014 ICIC International.

A New Bunun Aborigines’ Educational Aspect of Cultural Identity Design in Taiwan

The Tongpu community is a minority Bunun aborigine tribe located in Jade Mountain area. Due to its location in the national park, the economic development is vulnerable by the impact of national policy, leading to widening gaps between rich and poor, and population exodus, etc. Although this area is rich for its cultural and natural landscape, the Tongpu is reliant on farming, primarily fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, plums, sweet pepper, and tea. Our research team members have first contacted Tongpu community in 2010, for helping the local community to build their new Bunun Aborigines’ Tribal characteristics through Cultural Identity Design. Then, again in 2012 we helped Tongpu community to construct their logos systems for the farmers through educational process with the aid of our students. As the design workers, we hope to inspire new creativity and to introduce various products and exclusive images of the Tongpu community, in addition to activating the local industry thus increasing the income of the residents, and enhancing the visibility of the local culture. We aim at empowering Tongpu's aboriginal history, their geography and cultural connotations, to let their voices be heard, in order to create a formative cultural brand name in the near future.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published the standard of ISO 14001 environment management system in September of 1996. After the publication of ISO 14001, many environmental accreditation systems were developed. Many famous brands developed their environment system, for example, the system of restricted substance limit of Nike. This study focused on the supply chain of shoes industry to research that how the environmental management system were maintained and what were their approaches to saved energies, reduced the production cost and passed the environment accreditation. In this study, we interviewed one shoe factory, five leather tanneries, and also finished a survey of 15 leather tanneries, as the result, they all passed the ISO 14001 or the Leather World Group accreditation which are required by many worldwide athlete brands. This study found that the environmental accreditation became a basic element to become more competitive, however it is not the guarantee for new order. However in the process to have the environment system, the leather tannery not only fulfilled the management system to achieve the synergy of quality, reduction of the material loss and power energy, and water resource saving. In this fashion, they are not only enhanced the satisfaction of customer but also reduced the cost of production and strengthen their competitiveness.
