He became a Research Associate at Kanazawa University in 1987. He has been involved in research on semiconductor lasers and semiconductor optical modulators. Received his B.S. degree from Kanazawa University in 1971 and his Ph.D. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1976. He became a Lecturer at Kanazawa University the same year. At present he is a Professor at the same institution. He was an Invited Researcher at Bell Laboratories Holmdel NJ U.S.A. from 1982 to 1983. Currently he is involved in research on semiconductor lasers and semiconductor optical modulators. He received the Yonezawa Memorial Award in 1975 the Manuscript Award in 1976 and an Achievement Award in 1978. Received his B.S. degree from Kanazawa University in 1993 and is currently enrolled in the graduate program at Kanazawa University. He is involved in research on the semiconductor optical modulator.

Huting:received the B.S.E. degree in electrical engineering from Duke University in 1981 the M.S.E.E. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1982 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering (electrophysics) from the University of Maryland in 1989. From September 1981 to December 1983 he was a graduate teaching assistant with Georgia Tech. Since January 1984 he has been with The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he has principally been involved with the development of circular overmoded waveguides and tapered waveguide transitions for use in naval radar systems. Dr. Huting is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Jeffery W. Warren:received a B.S. degree in 1982 and an M.S. degree in 1984 both in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina. His thesis research evaluated electro-optical measurements of surface charging of insulators in low-frequency fields. He joined The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in 1984. Mr. Warren's activities include development and testing of electro-optical systems and the development of high-power low-loss overmoded waveguides. Mr. Warren is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Paul N. Garner: Jr. received the B.S. degree in mathematics and the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland in 1973 and 1980 respectively and the M.B.A. degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1984. Since 1987 he has been involved with the Cooperative Engagement Capability Program as the lead mechanical engineer and since 1990 he has been with The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he is now a member of the Senior Professional Staff. He received a bachelor of electrical engineering degree from College of the City of New York in 1960. Mr. Stern joined Dynell Electronics Corporation in 1971 and became part of the Robotic Vision Systems Inc. staff at the time of its spin-off from Dynell. He was program manager of the various three-dimensional sensing and replication systems constructed by Dynell and Robotic Vision Systems. As program manager his responsibilities encompassed technical administrative and operational areas. The first two portrait sculpture studio systems and the first three replication systems built by Robotic Vision Systems Inc. were designed manufactured and operated under his direction. Before joining Dynell Mr. Stern was a senior engineer at Instrument Systems Corporation and chief engineer of the Special Products Division of General Instrument Corporation. Prior to these positions Mr. Stern was chief engineer of Edo Commercial Corporation. At General Instrument and Edo Commercial he was responsible for the design and manufacture of military and commercial avionics equipment. Mr. Stern is presently responsible for directing the systems design and development for all of the company's programs. Robert J. Metzger:is currently engineering group leader at Robotic Vision Systems Inc. He graduated summa cum laude from the Cooper Union in 1972 with a bachelor of electrical engineering degree. Under sponsorship of a National Science Foundation graduate fellowship he graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1974 with the degrees of electrical engineer and master of science (electrical engineering). In 1979 Mr. Metzger graduated from Polytechnic Institute of New York with the degree of master of science (computer science).
