The transformer model has become a state-of-the-art model in Natural Language Processing. The initial transformer model, known as the vanilla transformer model, is designed to improve some prominent models in sequence modeling and transduction problems such as language modeling and machine translation. The initial transformer model has 6 stacks of identical encoder-decoder layers with an attention mechanism whose aim is to push limitations of common recurrent language models and encoder-decoder architectures. Its outstanding performance has inspired many researchers to extend the architecture to improve its performance and computation efficiency. Despite many extensions to the vanilla transformer, there is no clear explanation of the encoder-decoder set out depth in the vanilla transformer model. This paper presents exploration results on the effect of combination encoder-decoder layer depth and activation function in the feed-forward layer of the vanilla transformer model on its performance. The model is tested to address a downstream task: text translation from Bahasa Indonesia to the Sundanese language. Although the value difference is not significantly large, the empirical results show that the combination of depth = 2 with Sigmoid, Tanh, and ReLU activation function;and d = 6 with ReLU activation shows the highest average training accuracy. Interestingly, d = 6 and ReLU show the lowest average training and validation loss. However, statistically, there is no significant difference between depth and activation functions. © 2023 IEEE.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are a valuable source of data for a wide range of real-time applications, due to their functionality, availability, adaptability, and maneuverability. Working as mobile sensors, they can provide a cost-effective solution for extremely complex tasks, such as inspection, air-to-ground communications, search and rescue, surveillance, among others. Nevertheless, the robots needs to navigate in quite distinct environments and in different dynamism levels, usually facing unpredicted situations, very often using limited sensing and computing capabilities. A large number of solutions to this problem has been featured by the scientific community in the last years, some of them based on machine-learning (ML) methods. Due to its great capability to deal with big data and complexity, as well as its speedy and high-accuracy processing, the ML framework has been used to improve existing technologies and control techniques. In this context, its adoption in several UAV navigation strategies is expected to provide solutions for various problems where UAVs are used in real-time applications. Thus, in order to contextualize the most recent advances, this work provides a detailed survey of relevant researches in which ML techniques have been used in UAV navigation to improve some functional aspects, such as energy-efficiency, communication, execution time, resource management, obstacle avoidance, and path planning. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Automatic question generation for bahasa indonesia examination using copynet

In educational institutions, an educator is responsible for assessing the student's knowledge grasp through examination. Creating exam questions, even the low-level factoid questions, is time-consuming, especially for inexperienced educators. Therefore, this study aims to create a sequence-to-sequence model using CopyNet by exploiting its copying mechanism advantage to automatically generate Bahasa Indonesia factoid questions to ease the educator's burden. Indonesian records in the TyDi QA dataset are used as the model input. GRU and Bi-GRU are employed as the CopyNet encoder, while LSTM is used as the CopyNet decoder. The model that utilizes GRU as the encoder achieves BLEU1, BLEU2, BLEU3, BLEU4, and ROUGE-L scores of 0.28, 0.19, 0.14, 0.1, and 0.32, respectively. Bi-GRU utilization as the model encoder achieves BLEU1, BLEU2, BLEU3, BLEU4, and ROUGE-L scores of 0.26, 0.17, 0.12, 0.09, and 0.30, respectively. Models using either encoder still achieve low scores. However, compared with the previous work, the result is still on par regarding the BLEU score. Further examination found that the generated questions do not adhere to semantic and syntactical correctness. Adding more records to the dataset and utilizing a more advanced architecture like CopyBERT are encouraged to improve the model performance in future work. Despite the result, this study has shown that CopyNet, primarily designed for text summarization or single-turn dialogue, can be tailored for factoid question generation.

Agriculture has long been recognized as pivotal to economic development, offering avenues to alleviate poverty, foster prosperity, and sustainably meet the food demands of a burgeoning global population projected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050. However, persistent inefficiencies within agricultural supply chains, particularly in sectors like rice production, pose formidable challenges. Addressing these inefficiencies is imperative to avert a surge in hunger and malnutrition. Failure to do so could condemn 815 million people to hunger and leave 3 out of 10 individuals malnourished. Thus, investigating solutions to enhance the resilience of rice supply chains is paramount. This research endeavors to identify and analyze challenges inherent in tracing the rice supply chain, offering a conceptual model proposal as a potential remedy. Employing a methodology centered on scholarly discourse and extensive literature review, our study reveals various impediments facing rice commodity supply chains in Indonesia. Furthermore, this study leverages blockchain technology, specifically the Sawtooth Hyperledger platform, to streamline the tracing process for rice commodities and rationalize the supply chain by reducing intermediary actors. From the proposed model, there is great hope that it can provide implications for the rice supply chain to run more efficiently.

Offensive Language Detection Using Soft Voting Ensemble Model

Offensive language is one of the problems that have become increasingly severe along with the rise of the internet and social media usage. This language can be used to attack a person or specific groups. Automatic moderation, such as the usage of machine learning, can help detect and filter this particular language for someone who needs it. This study focuses on improving the performance of the soft voting classifier to detect offensive language by experimenting with the combinations of the soft voting estimators. The model was applied to a Twitter dataset that was augmented using several augmentation techniques. The features were extracted using Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency, sentiment analysis, and GloVe embedding. In this study, there were two types of soft voting models: machine learning-based, with the estimators of Random Forest, Decision Tree, Logistic Regression, Naïve Bayes, and AdaBoost as the best combination, and deep learning-based, with the best estimator combination of Convolutional Neural Network, Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory, and Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit. The results of this study show that the soft voting classifier was better in performance compared to classic machine learning and deep learning models on both original and augmented datasets. © 2023, Brno University of Technology. This paper considers a cloud streaming game using WebRTC. Since the cloud streaming game consists of a server and a client, the network quality between them affects the game. Among the network quality degradation factors, we focus on delay jitter. We reduce the effect of the jitter by buffering. We conduct a subjective experiment of a single-player action game and evaluate application-level QoS and QoE. We investigate the impact of buffering on the video and audio quality of the user playing the game.

One of the most popular technologies nowadays is augmented reality (AR). popular technologies in various industries. Many industries have adopted this AR technology, one of which is with the aim of marketing the products offered to their customers. With more and more adopting this technology, retailers are also using it. The goal of this research is to determine out what important variables are often encountered in the application of AR technology. A qualitative technique is used in this study, as well as a Systematic Literature Review Prism approach. The result are 56 papers, 35 candidate papers and 26 papers were selected. We examine where and how in retail, augmented reality (AR) is used, the aspects of Augmented reality technology that are frequently examined, and the psychological and behavioral effects that AR can have. © 2022 IEEE.

Social media growth was fast because many people used it to express their feelings, share information, and interact with others. With the growth of social media, many researchers are interested in using social media data to conduct research about personality identification. The identification result can be used as a parameter to screen candidate attitudes in the company's recruitment process. Some approaches were used for research about personality;one of the most popular is the Big Five Personality Model. In this research, an ensemble model between BERT and RoBERTa was introduced for personality prediction from the Twitter and Youtube datasets. The data augmentation method also introduces to handling the imbalance class for each dataset. Pre-trained model BERT and RoBERTa was used as the feature extraction method and modeling process. To predict each trait in the Big Five Personality, the voting ensemble from BERT and RoBERTa achieved an average f1 score 0,730 for Twitter dataset and 0,741 for Youtube dataset. Using the proposed model, we conclude that data augmentation can increase average performance compared to the model without data augmentation process. © 2023 Slovene Society Informatika. Translating a language to another language has become instrumental when peoples interact with other people who speak a different language. However, the language translation is not an easy computation task when there is a language-resource gap. This paper presents empirical results on the performance of two models: the Long Short-term Memory and the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory models as machine language translation models involving Bahasa Indonesia and the Sundanese language. The empiric results showed that the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory model achieves higher performance as a language translator from the Sundanese language to Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa (0.95 and 0.95 average training accuracy respectively;and 0.90 and 0.89 average testing BLEU scores respectively) than the Long Short-term Memory model as a language translator from the Sundanese language to Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa (0.93 and 0.92 average training accuracy respectively;and 0.91 and 0.88 average testing BLEU scores). These results validate some previously reported studies that claim the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory model potentially outperform the Long Short-term Memory model when it is used to process a sequence dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to human-like intelligence exhibited by computers, robots, or other machines. In popular use, artificial intelligence refers to the ability of a computer or machine to mimic the ability of the human mind to learn from examples and experiences, recognize objects, understand and respond to language, make decisions, solve problems, and combine these and other abilities to perform functions that humans might perform. Artificial intelligence requires experience and data to smarten up the technology. The most important things in making artificial intelligence are learning, reasoning, and self-correction. At the learning stage, AI gives machines the ability to learn tasks without requiring a defined programming language. Then, the reasoning stage is the stage where the reason AI is applied in a technology. The self-correction stage is the stage where the AI is refining itself from and learning from experience in order to minimize errors or problems that exist. Then, this matter is concerned with the parking lot to be discussed. Parking can be interpreted as public facilities available in agencies or offices that serve to store vehicles. Vehicles entering the parking area become tens or even thousands, because it requires a parking system and management area. Such arrangements are capable of parking procedures and even other support systems such as adequate parking facilities and infrastructure, and another function is to create and develop parking systems in general to provide safety and comfort. The methodology obtained from this problem is checking the research model to check and find out the comparison of vehicle user’s Parking System Security between cars or motorcycles, as well as the usual parking lots visited.
