Symbolic computation for systems of differential equations is often computationally expensive. Many practical differential models have a form of polynomial or rational ODE system with specified outputs. A basic symbolic approach to analyze these models is to compute and then symbolically process the polynomial system obtained by sufficiently many Lie derivatives of the output functions with respect to the vector field given by the ODE system. In this paper, we present a method for speeding up Gröbner basis computation for such a class of polynomial systems by using specific monomial ordering, including weights for the variables, coming from the structure of the ODE model. We provide empirical results that show improvement across different symbolic computing frameworks and apply the method to speed up structural identifiability analysis of ODE models. © 2024 ACM.

The development of information and communication technology makes it easy for anyone to be able to take part in online-based learning. Currently, online-based learning has been offered by many institutions or commercial industries. Gamification is one of the strategies to increase students' learning motivation. In this study, we focus on examining the role of gamification and game elements are contained in gamification-based learning. From the results of our research, it shows that gamification in the online-based learning process is growing. Gamification is proven to have a positive impact on students' learning motivation, although it is still dependent on various factors and conditions. © 2021 IEEE.

The training of a professional in the area of computing involves understanding the process of building software. In the computer science course curricular guidelines, this training is a requirement for graduating from the course. For the construction of the Pedagogical Project of the Course (PPC), the In-stitutions observe reference documents for the development of the project according to the local/regional specificity. Dealing with computing courses, the National Curricular Guidelines (DCN) for Computing courses, the training references of the Brazil-ian Computing Society (SBC) and the Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK), are key elements to support the construction of the PPC. In computer science courses, software engineering is presented as a central element in technological training for students. Software engineering defines stages for the construction of quality software, which begins with the requirements conception, analysis, design and ends with the construction of the solution. The scope of this article will deal with the software design area, which is responsible for defining an implementable structure for a software product, which meets the specified requirements, that is, makes the communication interface between the requirements and the construction of the software. In the specialized literature, the area of Software Design (SD) is presented as important and emerging topics in the training of Computing professionals. Emerging topics for teaching Software Engineering aligned with teaching Software Design were identified, such as: UX Design Practices, Current Interface Prototyping Tools and Design Patterns. One of the challenges for the area of Software Engineering is the high heterogeneity of solutions, leading to hybrid systems, with multi-paradigms, and this heterogeneity reflects on how the professional designs the solution, what is directly associated with training in Software Design. A Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) system is an important tool to be implemented in any psychology academic field and beyond. This paper aims to show a system of Facial Emotion Recognition that can be done using the multiple layers model of ResN et50 which is an ANN. The dataset is an array that consists of 7 different emotions represented by the numbers 0-6. The emotion included in the dataset is 'anger', 'disgust', 'fear', 'happiness', 'sadness', 'shock', and 'neutrality'. This research found that the highest accuracy in the application of the model was recorded at 65% and the test was 60% to recognize facial emotion from a graphical input. © 2021 IEEE.

The use of balanced medical datasets is essential to improve the precision and accuracy of machine learning models in the healthcare field. However, dataset imbalance often becomes an obstacle, especially in the diagnosis of skin diseases. This research aims to develop a Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) method that is more effective in generating synthetic skin datasets to overcome problems in integrating medical datasets. The methods used include developing and training a GAN model to produce realistic synthetic skin images, with a focus on improving the quality and diversity of the synthetic data produced. Important results from this research show that the developed GAN model is able to produce synthetic skin images that are not only realistic but also able to balance the original dataset. The implications of these findings include improving the accuracy and performance of machine learning models in the diagnosis of skin diseases, as well as the potential use of these methods in other medical fields that face similar problems with imbalanced datasets.

Energy consumption has become one of the major problems in Indonesia. The use of recent technology is highly beneficial since various automation could be done even in simple devices. In this research, portable smart home modules based on the internet of things (IoT) technology to monitor the power consumption in household electrical devices were built. The module consisted of current sensors, voltage sensors, and IoT Wi-Fi Development Board. It communicated with the server, built using the Raspberry Pi, using the MQTT protocol. The server was equipped with web pages that allowed users to monitor the devices' electrical power usage. Therefore, all of the connected modules could be monitored to provide information regarding an electric household device's defect. The results had shown that the prototypes of the modules had been successfully built. It was shown that very slight differences were found between the system measurements compared to the manual one using the 60 seconds interval measurements. The power consumed by the module was very low, where the current sensor uses 0.125 Watt while the voltage sensor uses 0.001 Watt. The portable devices were developed in the shape of small boxes;therefore, it could be easy to move and install. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Metaverse is gaining a lot of traction lately, especially after Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook changed its name to Meta as a preparation to enter another universe called metaverse. The eXtended Reality (XR) technology is also rapidly growing since the birth of Virtual Reality (VR), followed by Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality is the latest development of XR technology. As the XR technology is the perfect companion to support the metaverse and the understanding of the metaverse is already clear but unfortunately, there is a lot of misconception about the types of the metaverse as well as the platform for each type. This paper aims to point out the types and platforms of the metaverse. 49 articles have been collected and reviewed carefully as a quality assessment process, and 45 articles have been selected for further review. This review informs everybody that there are many types and platforms of the metaverse nowadays.

The university admission process can be overwhelming for applicants and admission officers, with many questions being asked and answered every year. The manual classification of these questions can be time-consuming and may lead to errors, making exploring automated solutions to this problem essential. In recent years, advances in natural language processing (NLP), including question classification. The research proposes an architecture for a question classification system using the Indonesian Language in closed-domain question answering. The purpose of this research is to find out the classification of questions. We created a system with the Named-Entity Recognition method to recognize the next word that will be used as a candidate type of question and candidate answer. The type of question used is a factoid question. Research makes patterns and rules for extracting important words as features to determine the taxonomy of question classification. Datasets are collected from one private university in Indonesia. Data sources from Binus Online Learning websites and data on questions frequently asked by users, especially prospective students. The results of the question classification are presented using descriptive statistics. The results show that the question classification with users’ most frequent question type is “What” by 63.3%, and the answer category is “tuition fees” by 22.4%. It can be concluded that the most frequent question type asked by users is “What”, and the most frequent topic of interest is “tuition fees”. Organizations can use this information to improve customer service by providing more relevant information and resources about tuition fees.

In this paper, we describe the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) implementation of our City-LES code on detailed large eddy simulations, including the multi-physical phenomena on fluid dynamics, heat absorption and reflection by surface and building materials, cloud effects, and even sunlight effect. Because a detailed simulation involving these phenomena is required for analyses at the street level and several meters of resolution, the computation amount is enormous, and ordinary CPU computation cannot provide sufficient performance. Therefore, we implemented the entire code on GPU clusters with large-scale computing. We applied OpenACC coding to incrementally implement relatively easy programming and eliminate data transfers between the CPU and GPU memories. Based on this research, we determined that the elimination of data transfers is effective, even in the case where a part of the code execution on the GPU is slower than the CPU, owing to the absence of spatial parallelism. The objective of this study is to perform a complete climate simulation on a few square-kilometers field around the Tokyo Station, considering the finest resolution of the original highlighted area of the Marathon race in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. We successfully transferred the entire code to the GPU to provide approximately eight times the performance of CPU-only computation on multi-GPU per node with a large scale cluster. © 2022, IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.

Stemming is the process of cutting affixes, both prefixes and suffixes from a term to get the root of the word that has affixes. Stemming can be done in any language, especially in Indonesia Language. Indonesian which is rooted in Malay and Sanskrit has a bigger influence on Language. The algorithm of stemming that has developed is the one that is based on the dictionary of a root word. This kind of algorithm was started by Nazief- Adriani and it grew up to be Confix Stripping (CS), and then was perfected to be Enhanced Confix Stripping (ECS). A scientometric analysis is a mathematical method used to identify academic publications related to citations and scientific matters and is intended for use in libraries or other fields. In this research, the publication of which using stemming algorithm selected and collected using keywords related to Nazief Adriani and ECS. The publications are collected from *** (an online database for advance scientific research). From those publication we did the analysis bibliometric help by the VOS Viewer application using the analysis technique of co-authorship and citation technique, and all done. The result are, from 310 publications that have keywords Nazief Adriani and 119 publications containing the keyword ECS, it was found that the owning documents will be the reference sources of the next research in which the most citation and co-authorship are found in Indonesia.
