Many organizations have now adopted Service Oriented Architecture （SOA） as an architectural style to help them with architecture, design and implementation of their core services and systems. Most of these organizations are challenged in integrating SOA style with their overall Enterprise Architecture work. This framework links an SOA style with the Enterprise Architecture （EA） methodologies to help organizations organize their SOA effort as a key part of their Enterprise Architecture. The case study demonstrates the implementation of architecture goal with organization vision in service oriented organizational structure using services that align Business with Technology. The framework is validated and has reserved the privileges of SOA and EA.

Recently as the demand of smart devices increases, the porting of embedded operating systems such as Google Android, Microsoft Windows Mobile, and Embedded Linux, becomes more important. Consequently, the importance of efficient, systematic porting is also raised. Generally, developers initiate embedded operating system porting from getting operating system source codes and materials. After they get source codes, they modify the source codes, and then they test them. To identify porting in detail, we investigated a small porting team which has fifteen members. In this team, each developer has done porting depending on his or her knowledge and experience. Therefore, we tried to find studies for efficient, systematic porting, but we couldn't find sufficient study results. This study aims to analyze porting process in a small organization. Also, we'll suggest productive a porting process and evaluate productivity of the new process through a case study. © 2011 IEEE.

Background: Understanding how to successfully deal with human and technical aspects involved in software Process Improvement (SPI) programs is a challenging issue. Technical aspects are not enough to guarantee the success of activities. Human factors (e.g., experiences, opinions and perceptions) impact the effectiveness of SPI programs. Aim: this paper aims to improve our current understanding on how human aspects can influence SPI programs from the point of view of the professionals involved in such efforts. We compare our findings with the results of previous studies in order to analyze the different contexts in which human aspects influence SPI. Method: We conducted a qualitative study in the context of small companies involved in SPI programs in Amazonas State in Brazil based on the Brazilian Maturity Model - ***. We used semi-structural interviews with software engineers. Results: We identified findings about eleven of the fourteen investigated human aspects. We identified new characteristics that motivate actors to get involved in SPI programs. Finally, while previous research indicated that the process of individual decision making as a negative aspect, we identified this as a positive aspect. Conclusions: Despite the differences in companies' size and maturity models, our findings corroborate many of the important results of previous case studies. The consistency of the presented results with previous research in different organizations, teams, and countries suggest that these results are true for software engineering in general. However, there were differences related to the motivating factors and the perception of the individual decision making. The customization of software process capability/maturity models (SPCMMs) to specific domains/sectors or development methodologies represents one of the most discussed and applied trends in ICT organizations. Nonetheless, little research appears to have been performed on how theoretically sound and widely accepted SPCMMs should be developed to high quality. The aim of this paper is therefore to elicit the state-of-the-art regarding the processes adopted to develop such models and to propose a systematic approach to support the customization of SPCMMs. Such an approach is developed based on ISO/IEEE standard development processes integrating Knowledge Engineering techniques and experiences about how such models are currently developed in practice. Initial feedback from an expert panel indicates the usefulness and adequacy of the proposed method. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

A group of people from different backgrounds of expertise, knowledge can get together to define a behavior of a system. When these people write a software Requirements Specification together, they often use different terms to define a function so the document may include some words that are ambiguous and unclear. Also some functionality may not be stated completely and clearly. This thesis attempts to develop an application that will analyze a software Requirements Specification and provide some guidelines to help make the document more complete and specific. The application?s goal is to improve productivity of the documenting process by reducing time spent in discussing the requirements and minimizing resources to write a software Requirements Specification. It could also help the system be implemented as it was expected to perform.

Emergency plans are fundamental for the speedy and effective response in disaster situations. Plans are often constructed by teams of experts, who apply their expertise to define response procedures, but lack part of location-specific knowledge that can be very relevant to make decisions during responses. Such knowledge is, however, in the minds of people who use those spaces every day, but are not involved in the planning processes. In this paper, we advocate for citizens' involvement in emergency plan elaboration via Public Participation, a mechanism long time used in other areas of e-government. We define the steps of a collaborative process for the elicitation of citizen's knowledge via Public Participation. A summary of the results of an initial case study is used to demonstrate the feasibility of our proposal for improving emergency plans.

It was with great excitement that we planned the combined meetings of Northeast Aquaculture Conference and Exposition (NACE) and the International Conference on Shellfish Restoration (ICSR) with the 33rd Milford Aquaculture Seminar (MAS). Bringing these different but complementary audiences together resulted in a meeting that combined many different aspects of fisheries restoration and aquaculture under one *** hundred attendees including government representatives, research scientists, industry, and academia at both the university and vocational high school levels attended this event. The meeting commenced on Wednesday December 12th 2012, with over eighty people attending seven field trips to area aquaculture farms and research facilities. The formal program began on Thursday, December 13th with a plenary session including invited speakers Eric Schwabb, Acting Assistant Secretary for Conservation and Management at NOAA; Sebastian Belle, Executive Director of the Maine Aquaculture Association and Boze Hancock from the Nature Conservancy, who discussed the role of aquaculture in fisheries restoration. John Bullard, the Northeast Regional Administrator of NOAA Fisheries Service, addressed the group during the luncheon the following day. The technical papers and workshops presented were divided into 35 sessions over three days of the meeting and included topics such as the history of aquaculture, aquaculture hatchery innovations, siting and planning issues, risk management, aquaculture business management, ocean acidification, climate change, as well as aquaculture disease issues and potential remedies. Having persons present who have experienced problems and successes, along with those in manufacturing and government responsible for addressing concerns and sharing best practices, was invaluable. Discussions among this cross-section of persons who represent different aspects of aquaculture were as important as the well-presented and interesting formal papers

Evaluation of web based learning on student achievement in primary school computer courses

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of web-based MS Power Point education on primary school students. Educational course material has been developed for web based learning environment. It has web based content of MS Power Point 2003 program. Also, quality of educational material is evaluated by taking into the account the ISO9241Usability of software standards. For this purpose, Xerox Usability Survey is conducted to the 83 primary school students. Statistical analysis shows that achievement of the students increased via the web based content.
