Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is a nondestructive method for measuring the hardness and softness of living tissue by means of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) coupled with mechanical excitation of the subject. The shear modulus of a tissue is related to the velocity of transverse waves propagating through it, and local movements are obtained from MRI phase images. Micro MRI systems are available for high-resolution MRE measurements of soft materials. Longitudinal waves are effective for long-distance wave propagation from small excitation areas in micro MRI systems, and the transverse waves produced by the longitudinal waves can be used for elastography. This study proposes an excitation system comprising a high-power vibration generator and bar-shaped vibration transmitter made from an elastic material. The transmission characteristics of the glass-fiber-reinforced plastic bar-shaped transducer were evaluated by measuring the accelerations at its base and tip. The performance of the excitation system, which focused on the effects of frequency and amplitude, was investigated for measuring storage and loss modulus distributions in agarose gel. This system could transfer longitudinal waves with an amplitude of 0.5 mm and frequency between 50 and 250 Hz, without significant damping. Moreover, the excitation capabilities for gel phantoms were evaluated by MRE using 0.3T micro MRI equipment. A large amplitude of 0.5 mm and high frequency of 250 Hz produced less data scatter than smaller amplitudes and lower frequencies. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous materials with potential in biomedical applications such as sensing, drug delivery, and radiosensitization. However, how to tune the properties of the MOFs for such applications remains challenging. Herein, we synthesized two MOFs, Zr-PEB and Hf-PEB. Zr-PEB can be classified as porous interpenetrated zirconium frameworks (PIZOFs) and Hf-PEB is its analogue. We controlled their sizes while maintaining their crystal structure by employing a coordination modulation strategy. They were designed to serve as sensitizer for X-ray therapy and as potential drug carriers. Comprehensive characterizations of the MOFs' properties have been conducted, and the in vitro biological impacts have been studied. Since viability assay showed that Hf-PEB was more biocompatible compared to Zr-PEB, the cellular uptake of Hf-PEB by cells was evaluated using both fluorescence microscopy and soft X-ray tomography (SXT), and the three-dimensional structure of Hf-PEB in cells was observed. The results revealed the potential of Zr-PEB and Hf-PEB as nanomaterials for biomedical applications and demonstrated that SXT is an effective tool to assist the development of such materials. © 2024 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Many individuals now trade online utilizing trading software in the digital world. Binomo is one of Indonesia's most popular trading platforms. This is because some influencers made several promises to Binomo customers. Since many customers were deceived, this case became quite popular. This study was executed to see how Indonesians felt about the Binomo application after the case went viral. The solution taken was in the form of sentiment analysis because there had been no previous research on sentiment analysis that discussed the Binomo case. The data was scanned using Netlytic tools, a cloud-based text and social network analyzer capable of identifying any talks on social media sites such as Twitter. The sentiment analysis of Binomo trading tweets by using the Multi-Perspective Question Answering lexicon utilized the KNIME tool. But unfortunately, the accuracy of sentiment analysis results is low. Furthermore, the Support Vector Machine technique is also being conducted. The Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency method is applied to perform feature extraction whilst the chi-square approach is utilized to identify features that are thought to be useful for inclusion in the classification process and to exclude features that are irrelevant to the target class. The obtained accuracy is 86%. The study proposes that words from the algorithm's outputs can be utilized to improve the quality of sentiment analysis using the lexicon. As an outcome of the algorithm, positive and negative terms are added to the lexicon, increasing the accuracy of sentiment analysis using the new vocabulary from 58.984% to 71.146%. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes an executable system architecting paradigm for discrete event system modeling and analysis through integration of a set of architecting tools, executable modeling tools, analytical tools, and visualization tools. The essential step is translating SysML-based specifications into Colored Petri Nets (CPNs) which enables rigorous static and dynamic system analysis as well as formal verification of the behavior and functionality of the SysML-based design. A set of tools have been studied and integrated that enable a structured architecture design process. Some basic principles of executable system architecture for discrete event system modeling that guide the process of executable architecture specification and analysis are discussed. This paradigm is aimed at general system design. Its feasibility was demonstrated with a C4type network centric system as an example. The simulation results was used to check the overall integrity and internal consistency of the architecture models, refine the architecture design, and, finally, verify the behavior and functionality of the system being modeled. ©2008 IEEE.

Effect of surface reaction layer on three-point flexure bond strength of resin composite to cast Ti and Ti-6Al-7Nb

This study investigated the effect of the α-case on the three-point flexure bond strength of resin composite to different thicknesses of cast CP Ti and Ti-6Al-7Nb. Cast plates (0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 mm thick) were prepared for each metal. Plates without α-case were also prepared for the 0.5 and 0.7 mm-thick CP Ti and Ti-6Al-7Nb. After resin composite was polymerized on the plates, the resin/metal specimens were subjected to three-point bending testing. The fracture force (N) and deflection (mm) at fracture were recorded. The fracture force of the specimens increased with increasing specimen thickness. Specimens without α-case withstood greater fracture force than specimens of either metal with α-case. Background:A green roof is a man-made ecosystem created when a rooftop is covered with substrate and *** green roof ecosystems(GREs)are able to provide ecosystem services,there is currently no assessment tool available to specifically evaluate ***,the aim of this study was to develop a rapid assessment checklist(RAC)to assess GRE services(GRES),which was developed and tested on 10 green roofs in Bangkok,***:The RAC consisted of 46 proxy indicators(33 qualitative and 13 quantitative indicators)encompassing various aspects of *** GRES values or scores varied according to structural differences in the green *** average score(from a maximum of 100)of total ecosystem services was 61±7,which could be inferred as a good performance in ecosystem service *** highest scores were obtained from the regulating services at 68±*** lowest average score was 53±11 from the provisioning ***:The RAC was able to evaluate the levels of GRES provided by the selected green roofs,enabling the meaningful comparison of their potential capability to provide ***,this RAC could be an innovative tool for evaluation of four categories of GRES.

This study addresses the Testing Facility Location with Constrained Queue Time Problem. This optimization problem focuses on determining the best places to deploy testing sites and their available testers for infectious diseases, while constraining the maximum time in the queue with a given probability. An integer programming model is introduced and applied to the three biggest counties, in terms of population, of Florida, United States. Moreover, the Monte Carlo method is used to evaluate the model’s output, aiming to check if the queueing time constraint is being satisfied. Through the experiments, a testing facility deployment plan can be determined for each county and further validated by the simulation. The results show that the solutions returned by the model behaved successfully when submitted to the Monte Carlo method, not exceeding the time in the queue in more than the predefined probability. © 2024 IEEE.

Conventional eddy current testing (ECT) using a pickup coil is widely employed for detecting cracks. However, it is sometimes difficult to apply conventional ECT to steel structures because of the magnetic noise caused by the non-uniform permeability of steel. To combat this challenge, we developed a small magnetic sensor probe with dual-channel tunnelling magnetic resistance capable of reducing magnetic noise. To apply the developed magnetic sensor probe to a complicated component of a steel structure, such as the welds joining the U-rib and deck plate, signal fluctuations caused by the lift-off variations between the sensor probe and the subject during magnetic sensor probing must be resolved. Therefore, we developed a method to distinguish between the signal changes caused by lift-off variations and cracks. The intensity and phase of the subtracted signal were used to develop traces of differential parameters obtained by scanning the magnetic probe. A visualization technique using only the traces of differential parameters, i.e. the Lissajous curve of X-Y processing, was applied not only to the cracks of the flat steel plate but also to the cracks in welded angles. The developed Lissajous curve emphasized the crack signals, which allowed clear differences between the signal change caused by the lift-off variations and cracks to be observed. © APWSHM 2018. In the field of automatic speech recognition (ASR) for people with dysarthria, it is problematic that not enough training speech data can be collected from people with dysarthria. To solve this problem, we propose a method of data augmentation using text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis. In the proposed data augmentation method, a deep neural network (DNN)-based TTS model is trained by utilizing speech data recorded from a speaker with dysarthria, and the trained TTS model is then used to generate the speaker's speech data for training the ASR model for the speaker. The results of a speech recognition experiment on a person having spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) showed that the speech recognition error rate was improved by using the proposed data augmentation. © 2022 IEEE.

A deep sea ROV is desired to be light from the viewpoints of reducing a tension on an underwater cable and possessing the adequate movability by thrusters in water. On the other hand, when moving by a crawler system on the seabed, such a lightweight will influence on its movability characteristics. As an initial investigation experiments using an actual ROV were conducted in a water tank. And it was observed that the ROV ran in wheelie in some cases and almost fell down in extreme case in spite of the fact that it could run stably on land. In order to clarify the results fundamental theory of stability of the ROV in steady running is presented. The theory gives the discriminant chart of stable running for the combination of the center of gravity and the center of buoyancy. Experiments using a model were conducted to verify the theory. In order to increase the stable area and also to change meaningly the center of gravity, this paper proposes a method to virtually increase the weight and to change the center of gravity by using thrusters. And preliminary experiments were conducted to confirm its advantageous effect.
