We have been developing an intellectual manufacturing process applying IT (V-Cam system fabrication processes) based on Volume-CAD (VCAD) system which can express internal information of materials. This paper introduces the ultra-precision grinding, ray tracing (optical path) simulation software 'V-Opt' and the measurement of actual optical functions in the development of optical element taking gradient refractive index (GRIN) lens with functionally graded material properties as a model. In finish ground GRIN lens using SD#8000 wheel, the P-V (Peek to Value) of 27.07 nm, surface roughness (Ra) of 1.83 nm is obtained. 'V-Opt' developed for GRIN lens have two main functions;one is the visualizations of ray tracing and the other is the evaluation of spot diagram and focal length.

The oxidative coupling polymerization of p alkoxyphenols with Mn(acac)2ethylenediamine catalysts was carried out. The polymerization of pmethoxyphenol with the manganese(II) acetylacetonate [Mn(acac)2]N,N’diethylethylene diamine catalyst in CH2Cl2 at room temperature under an O2 atmosphere afforded a polymer, which mainly consists of the mphenylene unit, whereas the polymer obtained with Mn(acac)2 was rich in the oxyphenylene structure. The polymer yield and regioselectivity were significantly affected by the monomer and catalyst structures. The former catalyst system was also used for the coupling reaction of 2methoxy 4methylphenol. The corresponding carboncar bon coupling product was isolated with a regioselectivity of 95%.

Endoscope reprocessing has been identified as a complex procedure that, when completed incorrectly, can lead to patient outbreaks due to cross contamination. Most reported incidents cite human error as the cause, but little research to date has explored the human factors related issues surrounding reprocessing procedures. The purpose of this study was to interview experts in endoscope reprocessing to determine the most difficult steps and error prone tasks in the procedure as well as identify potential contributing factors to error. Relationships between tasks and contributing factors are examined and implications for future research are discussed.
