The communication system is essential for the devices used in IoT. Nevertheless, the consumption caused by transmitting and receiving data is a concern in many scenarios. That is due to these devices commonly having limited energy and computational capacities. Transmission of redundant or irrelevant samples frequently wastes the device's resources. Furthermore, Storing a large amount of redundant data could consume storage space and not offer any benefit. Data Compression (DC) methods are a potential solution. DC could reduce communication usage and storage demand. This research proposes the Training Swing Door Trending (TSDT) for being implemented in IoT Devices. TSDT is a new algorithm that improves the classic Swing Door Trending (STD). They represent the data by trend lines and have a constant computational complexity. TSDT has a training step for the automatic configuration of its parameters. This article additionally presents the Compression Factor (C-Score), a new quality metric to analyze the compression results in lossy DC methods. C-Score takes as a basis the F-Score, a measure of predictive performance. The C-Score uses the Compression and Error metrics to evaluate the compression performance in Lossy Algorithms. © 2024 IEEE.

Presidential elections in Indonesia are held every five years as part of political and democratic activities to elect Indonesia's future leaders. Currently, the presidential election process is supported by a conventional information system that collects vote count results per region and accumulates them in stages at the national level. The data and information produced by this system are at high risk of being manipulated. Several cases in the 2024 Indonesian presidential election show a lot of fraud by manipulating the vote count results. Several studies propose the use of a system based on blockchain technology to increase transparency and security in collecting vote count results in the presidential election in Indonesia. However, the vast territory of Indonesia, spread over several islands with hundreds of millions of voters, makes blockchain technology inefficient for presidential elections in Indonesia. Thus, the problem statement of this research is how the concept of blockchain sharding can increase the efficiency of applying blockchain technology to presidential elections in Indonesia. The research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review regarding blockchain technology-based systems to support presidential elections in Indonesia and the concept of blockchain sharding. The research output is a blockchain sharding adoption model to increase the efficiency of adopting blockchain technology for the presidential election in Indonesia. The paper also includes simulations with the Hyperledger. © 2024 IEEE.

Better staff motivation is believed enables to deliver better performances. Although it sounds essential, many companies have carried out unsuccessful program to do so. The article examines improving gamification design in Gojek app, a pioneer of ride hailing company, in Indonesia. Studies show the use of Gamification has proven to deliver many benefits and improve better performances in business. The article applies game design approach in Gojek app to improve driver's motivation as key factor to improve overall company performance. The article applies Maslow needs theory to guide the game design to improve overall drivers' motivation, loyalty, and achievements. © 2023 IEEE.

The information system is a strategic tool for the goals but is considered not optimal because there are indications that long-term target strategies have not been achieved. it is necessary to identify the factors that influence this success so that a model can be built that describes the achievement of the company's strategic objectives. The research was conducted with a quantitative approach through an analysis of data using factor analysis and regression analysis. Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are intricate mathematical models, drawing inspiration from the biological nervous system, and offering intelligence alongside nonparametric capabilities. The efficacy of ANNs heavily relies on their learning process. Heuristic search algorithms have been proposed in literature as reliable options for optimizing neural networks utilizing the Perceptron architecture. This paper presents an suboptimal neural network Perceptron training method employing the Whale Optimization Algorithm for the application of farming watering mobile robots. To achieve this, a fitness function based on system responses such as overshoot, settling Time, and steady-state Error was developed. The sub-optimal Perceptron controller was then implemented using MATLAB, CoppeliaSim software and the EVA robot, resulting in a 66.17% overshoot, a 4.7% steady-state error, and a settling time of 3.05 seconds. Moreover, the sub-optimal Perceptron controller was mapped onto a System on Chip FPGA AMD-Xilinx Zynq 7020, resulting in a hardware resources consumption of 1,870 (3.52%) Lookup table, 2 (0.9%) Digital Signal Processing blocks, 1,019 (0.96%) Flip-Flops and a power consumtion of 0.005 W. Finally, Hardware-in-The-Loop validation was performed using CoppeliaSim, Python, Universal Direct Memory Access, and the EVA robot. The results showed an overshoot of 94.83%, a settling time of 2 seconds, and a steady-state error of 4.5%. © 2024 IEEE.

The application of information technology in addition to making internal business processes more effective and efficient, is also to improve customer service. This role is important for companies to maintain the sustainability of information systems as a strategic tool for competitive advantage so system availability is absolutely essential. Research related to the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) needs to be carried out to see the readiness of a corporation to build a backup system in different places and locations. By using the method of factor analysis and regression analysis to form an evaluation model, it will obtain an overview of what factors must be considered and what the current conditions are. The results of the study show that there are Core Technical DRP, Organizational Preparation, and Costing factors which are the main variables in supporting DRP readiness. The conclusion from this study, through these three new factors a mathematical model can be built as a reference for improving DRP implementation in corporations. © 2023 The Authors. A technique using droplets suspended by ultrasound has attracted attention as one of the containerless processing methods. While this can avoid contamination from the container, it is known that ultrasonic levitation creates flow fields inside and outside the droplet. For more precise droplet control, it is desirable to elucidate the internal flow of the droplet, and measurements of the internal flow have been performed using the particle image velocimetry (PIV). The aim of this study is to elucidate the internal flow field behavior by solving optical problems and improving the accuracy of velocity field measurements in levitated droplets. The fluid that is to be investigated is scattered with small tracer particles and illuminated by a laser to capture the flow on a created laser sheet. The curvature distortion is successfully visualized using the PIV approach toward distortion correction using calibration methods. The curvature distortion illustration was performed based on the refractive index and aspect ratio of the simulated droplet in acrylic materials. The fluid flow, affected by droplet curvature and refractive index, has been visualized for both levitated and simulated droplets. The experimental results showed that the droplet curvature can be distorted in two types such as radial and tangential distortions and increase as the refractive index and aspect ratio increases. © 2024 by Begell House, Inc.

Large-scale cell death is commonly observed during organismal development and in human pathologies^1–5. These cell death events extend over great distances to eliminate large populations of cells, raising the question of how cell death can be coordinated in space and time. One mechanism that enables long-range signal transmission is trigger waves⁶, but how this mechanism might be used for death events in cell populations remains unclear. Here we demonstrate that ferroptosis, an iron- and lipid-peroxidation-dependent form of cell death, can propagate across human cells over long distances (≥5 mm) at constant speeds (around 5.5 μm min⁻¹) through trigger waves of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Chemical and genetic perturbations indicate a primary role of ROS feedback loops (Fenton reaction, NADPH oxidase signalling and glutathione synthesis) in controlling the progression of ferroptotic trigger waves. We show that introducing ferroptotic stress through suppression of cystine uptake activates these ROS feedback loops, converting cellular redox systems from being monostable to being bistable and thereby priming cell populations to become bistable media over which ROS propagate. Furthermore, we demonstrate that ferroptosis and its propagation accompany the massive, yet spatially restricted, cell death events during muscle remodelling of the embryonic avian limb, substantiating its use as a tissue-sculpting strategy during embryogenesis. Our findings highlight the role of ferroptosis in coordinating global cell death events, providing a paradigm for investigating large-scale cell death in embryonic development and human pathologies. © The Author(s) 2024.

As social beings, humans like to interact with each other, including other creatures of God, such as animals, and keep them as pets. Many pets, such as dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits, and so on, include unusual pets such as reptiles, pigs, insects, etc. As a result of the lack of human awareness of pets and the nature of keeping animals, which is only for fun, it is not soulful to keep animals. So when people are bored, they abandon their pets, which causes new problems in human life today. In this case, we created a mobile application that can be shared with pet lovers where they can share information about abandoned pets and the possibility of owning pets from these abandoned pets. Mobile applications were designed using use case diagrams to show business processes, class diagrams to show database models, and user interfaces to present a similar interface to users. This mobile application will become a platform that can gather all people who care about pets and make pets a part of humans. © 2024 IEEE.

Since Covid outbreak in 2020, Indonesian Ministry of Health (MoH) has intensively embraced digital transformation initiatives in healthcare management and decision-making process. The latest healthcare digital transformation roadmap 2024, has emphasized the use of AI technology in data analytics and support policy making. The article examines the use of common Machine Learning (AI) algorithms, such as: Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Decision Tree, and XGBoost. The article applies these algorithms to analyse the common diseases faced by Indonesian such as Measles, Malaria, Leprosy, and Diphtheria. Those diseases are classical diseases, however, still infecting many people in large areas. The article takes a case study of national health profile within period 2017-2022, to study the data model of those diseases. The outcome of the article is expected to be used for further policy making. © 2024 IEEE.
