Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is an indicator frequently used for measuring efficiency of critical equipment. Typically presents a negative asymmetrical distribution, limited to the interval [0;1]. Due to this characteristic, it is uncommon using statistical control procedures for monitoring OEE. This study aims to contribute to this discussion by presenting an approach for monitoring OEE through statistical control procedures. The OEE/TEEP control chart is presented with sensitization procedures, allowing the user to adapt the results of the monitoring process to the needs of the monitored resource constraint. Performance results are presented based on an extensive Monte Carlo simulation study, with 4551 sets of 20 thousand observations each. One application example is also presented, for illustrating the potential of the proposed control charts.

An industrial enterprise in a competitive environment undergoing constant change, which wishes to be recognized as World Class, needs a management model that affords its executives a systemic vision. Aware of the need to define an effective and efficient model to manage a company, executives should always ask how it should be defined, implemented and continuously evaluated. In this context, the article presents a computer system, referred to herein as the Socrates CEO Robot, based on the scientific conceptual model (Complex Adaptive systems Integrating the Decision Making Process in Industrial Companies) presented by Wollmann and Steiner (2014). The capacity of Socrates to aid the integrated and systemic decision process is verified in competitive business environments of the e-tangram business simulator. The results show that Socrates is capable of managing an industrial enterprise in a virtual competitive environment generated in a business simulator (usually referred to as a business game).
