The ethanol manufacturing plant located in Phanomsarakham district, Chachoengsao province east of Thailand. The plant requires to improve the process by replacing a new boiler with capacity for generating 30 tons per hour of saturated steam. The boiler selection process is determining the steam required for the process, then determine the fuels available and their usability after that compare different types of boiler and finish the process with boiler purchasing. There are four available fuels in the area where the case study plant located are bituminous coal, wood, fuel oil C, and LPG. Consider by compared the heating value, fuel required to consume by the boiler and reference of each. The most possibility of fuel for the case study plant is bituminous coal. © 2019 IEEE.

The interaction of fast charged particles with graphene layers can generate electromagnetic modes. This wake effect has been recently proposed for short-wavelength, high-gradient particle acceleration and for obtaining brilliant radiation sources. In this study, the excitation of wakefields produced by a point-like charged particle moving parallel to a multilayer graphene array (which may be supported by an insulated substrate) is studied using the linearized hydrodynamic theory. General expressions for the excited longitudinal and transverse wakefields have been derived. The dependencies of the wakefields on the positions of the layers and the substrate, the velocity and the surface density have been extensively analyzed. This study provides a deeper understanding of the physical phenomena underlying plasmonic excitations in graphene layers, paving the way for potential applications of these structures in particle acceleration, nanotechnology and materials science. © 2025, CC BY-NC-ND.

During the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,the Japanese government implemented several infection control measures,such as states of emergency(SoE)and school closures,and encouraged universal masking and hand *** activity restrictions and improved hygiene were found to be associated with declines in the incidence of infuenza during the 2019–2020 winter season[1].Prior studies have found that the incidence of seven pediatric infections,such as pharyngoconjunctivitis and varicella,decreased during and after the school closures in Japan[2].As activity restrictions continue to be lifted,there is growing concern that pediatric infections may suddenly return given that the pool of susceptible children increased during the pandemic[3].In this study,we use national infectious disease sentinel data from January 2012 to October 2021 to assess changes in the reported number of pediatric infections in Japan during the COVID-19 *** hypothesize that the reporting of many infectious diseases decreased during the early stages of the pandemic but ultimately returned to normal when activity restrictions were lifted.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the prevalence of poor mental health and its association with loneliness and social support among 3531 undergraduate students in nine Asian countries. Mental health was assessed using the Self-Reporting Questionnaire, which was developed by the World Health Organization. Across the entire sample, we detected that nearly half of the students reported poor mental health according to the Self-Reporting Questionnaire and nearly one out of seven students felt lonely. While feeling lonely increased the odds of experiencing poor mental health (odds ratio [OR]), moderate (OR: 0.35) and strong social support (OR: 0.18) decreases the odds of experiencing poor mental health. The high prevalence of poor mental health calls for further in-depth investigations and implementation of mental health support interventions. © 2023 APJPH.

Sargassum horneri (S. horneri) is an edible species of large brown algae inhabiting along the coasts of northeastern Asia. The study focuses on the impact of celluclast enzyme extract of S. hoeneri (SHC) on various immune cell populations in splenocytes including granulocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and T lymphocytes. SHC alone increased the population of granulocytes and macrophages and the secretion of M1 macrophage-derived cytokines (TNF-α, IL-22), and M2 macrophage-derived cytokines (IL-4, IL-10). Interestingly, however, SHC suppressed the concanavalin A (Con A)-expanded populations of macrophages, dendritic cells, granulocytes, T and B cells, and Con A-promoted secretion of M1-macrophage derived cytokines (IFN-γ, IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-17, IL-22) and M2-macrophage derived cytokines (IL-4, IL-10, IL-13, TGF-β). SHC further restrained the Th1, Th2, and Th17 cell responses through attenuating the expression of respective transcription factors T-bet, Gata3, and Rorγt. The anti-inflammatory property of SHC is highlighted through its influence on cytokine production, particularly in the NF-κB pathway, and the attenuation of Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling. The results reveal that SHC acts as both an immunostimulator and an inhibitor of hyperimmune reactions, showcasing its potential therapeutic applications in conditions involving dysregulated immune responses such as autoimmune diseases and inflammatory disorders. This positions SHC as a promising candidate for the development of functional ingredients with diverse applications encompassing the realms of food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. © 2024

Precision medicine is an approach to disease treatment and prevention that seeks to maximize effectiveness by taking into account individual variability in genes, environment, and lifestyle. The medical paradigm has been changed with the emergence of precision medicine and many companies with business related to precision medicine should cooperate with other companies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the alliance portfolio factors that affect firms’ innovation performance. This study examined whether the diversity factors of the alliance portfolio and alliance management capability influenced its innovation performance. Additionally, we investigated the moderate effects of participation of research organizations in the alliance portfolio. As a result, there was an inverted U-shaped relationship between the industry diversity of the portfolio and innovation performance;therefore, the participation of research organizations in the alliance portfolio showed a positive effect. Additionally, the value governance diversity changed to have a positive effect by interacting with research organizations. This study provides information on the alliance portfolio factors that affect the innovation performance of precision medicine companies. © 2021 by the authors. Licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.

Wallas model problem-solving to identify prospective mathematics teachers ’expectations of students’ creative thinking processes

The mathematical thinking processes of prospective teachers in solving mathematical problems vary, especially the thinking processes they expect from their students. The four stages of the Wallas Model creative thinking process are preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification. The purpose of this research is to describe the creative thinking process that prospective teachers expected from their students in solving mathematical problems based on the Wallas model. The research technique employed is a mixed-methods approach. The participants in this study were 34 aspiring math teachers in mathematics education study program at Ibrahimy University. The Miles and Huberman model was used to evaluate the data collected from observation, test results, and interviews was confirmed using triangulation. The results of this study show that:(1) Prospective teachers expect their students to be able to carry out the four steps of the Wallas model of the creative thinking process when solving mathematical problems; (2) the expectations of the subject of the majority of high groups want students to be able to meet all stages of the Wallas model; (3) medium and low group subject expectations tend to desire the three-stage Wallas model reasonably; (4) the percentage of achievement indicator of the thinking process creative expected by prospective teachers to students in problem-solving based on the Wallas model were obtained for Preparation (73.53%), Incubation (91.18%), Illumination (82.35%), and Verification (44.12%). This research results findings should be followed up in a teacher or lecturer meeting to learn students’ creative thinking expectations in mathematics and other disciplines.

In the past decade, it stated that the discourse on Sustainable Development and the Financial technology(FinTech) role in the financial and banking industries, has attention on researchers, practitioners, regulators, and policymakers. The real problem arises from the discourse on whether FinTech has an effect on sustainable development in the financial and banking industry in Indonesia. This discourse needed to be understood better and more deeply. For credible research results, it is necessary to use a mixedmethod research approach. This research aims to develop a model that will help uncover the phenomenon of FinTech to sustainable development in the Financial and Banking Industry in Indonesia, using mixed methods research. In this study, Exploratory Sequential Mixed Method used as a type of mixedmethod approach. The main results of this study reveal that FinTech, which is influenced by business drivers, has a significant role in sustainable development in the Financial and Banking Industry in Indonesia. The contribution of this research can provide insight and understanding for researchers and practitioners in the financial and banking industry who want to implement a sustainable development model based on FinTech in more depth.

The bone defect is common in the orthopedic clinic, possibly due to trauma, tumor, or congenital diseases. Also, some patients with alveolar bone defects in the dental clinic result from the different proliferation speeds between soft and hard tissue. Biomaterials made of polymers and bioceramics have been developed to deal with these problems but mixing them directly can result in a low-mechanical strength complex. To solve this, we used oleic acid (C18) as a surfactant to improve the dispersity of hydroxyapatite (HA) in the polycaprolactone (PCL) matrix, and then immerse the material in a simulated biomineralization process. The results showed that the low crystallinity PCL formed an evenly distributed mineralized layer that had phosphate ions signal and a hydroxyapatite peak. The biocompatibility of the material was assessed using MC3T3 cells, and found that the PCL-HA membrane and PCL-C18-HA membranes had significant cell filopodia and lamellipodia. Additionally, the polycaprolactone/oleic acid/hydroxyapatite (PCL-C18-HA) membrane had the highest cell viability among all groups. The addition of C18 also decreased the platelets activation degree but had a significant difference in the reactive oxygen species (ROS) amount compared to the control, which requires further investigation. Overall, this study successfully fabricated a safe and promising polycaprolactone/hydroxyapatite/oleic acid nanocomposite membrane as a potential solution for bone biomaterials. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

2013 curriculum is a simplified curriculum, using thematic integrative learning approaches, and in it contains about strengthening character education for students. This research aims to describe the management of 2013 curriculum in elementary school which includes the plan of the implementation and evaluation. This is a qualitative research by using case study approach. The subject of this research is the principal, the vice principal, curriculum, teachers, and students. The data of the research is collected by doing interview, observation, and document study. The data analysis is done descriptively. The result of this research shows that the management of 2013 curriculum in elementary school can be seen from three aspects. They are planning, implementation, and evaluation. The planning of 2013 curriculum is based on the policy that has been established by the government and the curriculum evaluation implementation from the previous period. The implementation of 2013 curriculum uses integrative thematic learning with scientific approach and is applied gradually. The evaluation of the curriculum is done in order to see the ability of achieving the goal and the feasibleness of 2013 curriculum by considering the analysis of student's score and evaluation meeting in every end of the semester. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
