This paper presents the design and analysis of an extremum seeking (ES) controller for scalar static maps in the context of infinite-dimensional dynamics governed by the 1D Euler-Bernoulli (EB) beam Partial Differential Equation (PDE). The beam is actuated at one end (using position and moment actuators). The map’s input is the displacement at the beam’s uncontrolled end, which is subject to a sliding boundary condition. Notably, ES for this class of PDEs remains unexplored in the existing literature. To compensate for PDE actuation dynamics, we employ a boundary control law via a backstepping transformation and averaging-based estimates for the gradient and Hessian of the static map to be optimized. This compensation controller leverages a Schrödinger equation representation of the EB beam and adapts existing backstepping designs to stabilize the beam. Using the semigroup and averaging theory in infinite dimensions, we prove local exponential convergence to a small neighborhood of the unknown optimal point. Finally, simulations illustrate the effectiveness of the design in optimizing the unknown static map. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

It is well known that the quality of service provided by a telecommunication network as measured by the probability of blocking decreases rapidly when the incident traffic exceeds the design limits of the network. A higher probability of blocking results in reduced throughput and loss of revenue for the service provider. This paper presents a mechanism that introduces priority in a telephone system with the objective of providing a defined grade of service to priority traffic carrying a higher price tag. The non-priority traffic carries a lower price tag and a lower grade of service. The proposed pricing scheme maintains the overall revenue associated with the network at a constant level over a wide range of incident traffic. © 2006 IEEE.

This paper deals with the gradient-based extremum seeking control for multivariable maps under actuator saturation. By exploiting a polytopic embedding of the unknown Hessian, we derive a LMI-based synthesis condition to ensure that the origin of the average closed-loop error system is exponentially stable. Then, the convergence of the extremum seeking control system under actuator saturation to the unknown optimal point is proved by employing Lyapunov stability and averaging theories. Numerical simulations illustrate the efficacy of the proposed approach. © 2025, CC BY.

For large companies with branch offices spread across various regions, it is not enough to rely on traditional wide area network (WAN) technology to connect networks between data centers, head offices, and branch offices that are far apart. This is because traditional WAN operation requires many devices with their own complexities. SDN is a method that separates the Control Plane and the Forwarding Plane. In a traditional network, the two functions above are in the same device. One of the SDN technologies on the network is SD-WAN. Another problem in traditional network is WAN infrastructure primarily uses MPLS, which can be very expensive and has limited bandwidth. With the increasing volume of data, MPLS costs can be quite high the expensive cost. PT. XYZ as a banking company that has branches scattered everywhere must pay attention to this. This paper proposes the suitable design and implementation scenario of SD-WAN technology at PT. XYZ so that the existing network can be integrated. From the proposed design, it can be shown that SD-WAN technology is able to answer the weaknesses of traditional WANs in terms of ease of monitoring, cost efficiency, and flexibility © 2021 IEEE.

Ku-band and Ka-band are frequency bands that are widely used for high throughput satellites, in Indonesia Ku-band have been used in several types of satellite services to support bandwidth limitations in the C-band. For this reason, a comparative study of Ku-band and Ka-band was carried out to ensure that the two frequency bands can be used in Indonesia's tropical climate and further evaluate the existing regulations for the implementation of HTS in Indonesia. The results of this study show that Ku-band and Ka-band can be used for HTS satellites in Indonesia. All communication links tested showed C/N values higher than the minimum requirements of C/N. Although both frequency bands can use in Indonesia, in terms of economy and efficiency, Ka-band is greater than Ku-band, the availability of wide bandwidth makes the throughput produced by Ka-band more than Ku-band. Capacity measurement simulation is also carried out with two frequency reuse schemes where higher throughput is present at 8 spot beams per cluster scheme. The scenario requires at least nine times frequency reuse to cover the entire region of Indonesia with total throughput on Ka-band 123.02 Gbps under normal sky conditions and 55.56 Gbps under rain sky conditions. The regulation review process resulted in suggestions for changes to the bandwidth cost index to be used in setting spectrum prices for the use of HTS. The need for this change is based on the consideration that bandwidth cost index was previously the base price for satellite transponders with a small bandwidth and HTS satellites are sensitive bandwidth technology. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents an alternative method to generate the digital frequency modulation (FM) signal. By summing an information signal m(k) with the oscillating frequency ω0 and putting the result into the cosine function of digital oscillator coefficient which is -2 cos (ω0 +m(k)), the FM signal is obtained. Computer simulations are conducted to show the validity of the proposed FM signal generator. © 2012 IEEE.

The number of mobile network subscribers has increased over the past few years rapidly. 4G LTE, as a part of wireless technology, made a significant contribution through the coverage expansion around countries but still faces critical issues, namely spectrum scarcity. However, the growth of data users and data consumption seems to be increased. The Mobile Network Operator (MNO) tried to provide the infrastructures and services that capable of responding to the necessity of capacity, reliability, and availability. 3GPP answered the opportunity by introducing the LTE-Advanced Pro (4.9 G) technology with 3GPP Rel-13 that called Licensed Assisted Access (LAA). LAA uses carrier aggregation technology, both licensed and 5 GHz unlicensed band. Through utilizing the unlicensed band, MNO tried to face the necessity of improvement with the cost-efficiency. This paper tries to introduce the LAA implementation in a dense urban area of Indonesia. Based on the calculation result of capacity and coverage planning in Jakarta, LAA will increase the capacity from 41.95% to 61.67% in the time period 2020-2030 based on existing LTE capacity. Besides capacity planning, the coverage planning resulted in the amount of required LAA site to covered 40 Points of Interest (POI) area by 72 outdoor LAA and 119 indoor LAA. According to business feasibility analysis for economic aspects, LAA business implementation in the dense urban area is categorized as feasible with positive NPV value at IDR 390,653,517,937;IRR > rate at 40.61%, and three years and three months payback period (PP) on the baseline scenario. © 2020 IEEE.

The gradient algorithm used absolute value of error signal as a criterion to adjust the filter coefficient of adaptive IIR notch filter is presented in this paper. The objective is to estimate or track the frequency of a single sinusoidal signal corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise. The proposed algorithm can solve the problem of selecting an initial condition as met in the previous method. Moreover, it also has a high convergence speed. © 2012 IEEE.

Adaptive Sinusoidal interference cancellation (ASIC) based on recursive least square (RLS) algorithm is proposed. RLS algorithm allows us to use a recursion instead of inversion of the autocorrelation matrix to evaluate the optimum weights. The main advantage of RLS algorithm is that it exhibits extremely high rate of convergence. Computer simulations are performed to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm. © 2020 IEEE.
