Biomedical knowledge graph reasoning is capable of discovering hidden new knowledge based on existing biomedical data, providing ideas and references for new drug discovery, disease research, and so on. The entire graph topology structure formed by triplets and the attribute descriptions for each entity are crucial information for discovering new knowledge. Some add a variety of additional information to aid reasoning, namely multimodal reasoning. However, current multimodal reasoning techniques often rely solely on vector space distance inferences based on triplets themselves, making it difficult to capture more complex relationships and dependencies between facts. This work integrated triplet entity relations, graph topology structures, and attribute descriptions for each entity to incorporate richer information, and utilized logical rules as external knowledge for relational reasoning in biomedical knowledge graphs. We have evaluated our approach on PharmKG. © 2024 IEEE.

Sentiment analysis is a technique that is able to analyze reviews, sentiment, people's behavior and emotions towards entities such as services, products, organizations, events and social media. Several sentiment analysis approaches have been carried out, one of which uses deep learning such as Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). This research implements the Attentive model using 3 models, namely Attention network, Multi-head Attention and Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM). Attentive mechanisms are used to capture important words so that the model can understand important information. Combining Attentive and CNN models to find optimal performance for each model can be done by hyperparameters tuning settings. From the results of selecting the best hyperparameters, it proves that the Attentive mechanism model is able to increase the performance of the baseline model, each accuracy value that increases is Attention network 0.37%, Multi-head Attention 0.43%, and CBAM 0.21%. The highest improvement value was obtained by Multi-head Attention. © 2024 IEEE.

Today's society is different from the past, where the speed of the internet is getting more sophisticated, and the existing gadget technology is getting faster, and of course, this is also changing the lifestyle of today's people, which of course almost half of their daily life is spent in front of gadgets. On the one hand, this is undoubtedly very good and supports humans in carrying out their daily life activities, but on the other hand, this raises new problems where humans start to lack time to communicate and socialize with each other and often making them stressed and anxious because they are already tired and do not know how to socialize anymore. This paper begins with a model and implementation of a very simple mobile application that behaves as a social media inspired by *** as a social media for academics. The trend towards smart greenhouses stems from various factors,including a lack of agricultural land area owing to population concentration and housing construction on agricultural land,as well as water *** study proposes building a full farming adaptation model that depends on current sensor readings and available datasets from different agricultural research *** proposed model uses a one-dimensional convolutional neural network(CNN)deep learning model to control the growth of strategic crops,including cucumber,pepper,tomato,and *** proposed model uses the Internet of Things(IoT)to collect data on agricultural operations and then uses this data to control and monitor these operations in real *** helps to ensure that crops are getting the right amount of fertilizer,water,light,and temperature,which can lead to improved yields and a reduced risk of crop *** dataset is based on data collected from expert farmers,the photovoltaic construction process,agricultural engineers,and research *** experimental results showed that the precision,recall,F1-measures,and accuracy of the one-dimensional CNN for the tested dataset were approximately 97.3%,98.2%,97.25%,and 97.56%,*** new smart greenhouse automation system was also evaluated on four crops with a high turnover *** system has been found to be highly effective in terms of crop productivity,temperature management and water conservation.

With the rapid proliferation of various cloud storage services in recent years, the development of technology to efficiently search data while ensuring its confidentiality during cloud usage is an important issue. The technology that enables keyword searches on encrypted files using previously set keywords is called searchable symmetric encryption (SSE). In this paper, we propose a method formally representing encrypted document, and verify the security of SSE using the formal verification tool ProVerif. Our proposed method considers the channel-type terms of ProVerif as a Document that includes different keywords to verify the indistinguishability of encrypted documents. © 2024 The Institute of Electronics, information and Communication Engineers.

This paper presents the development of a multilingual hate speech detection model that effectively processes and classifies content in both Arabic and English. The study leverages both traditional machine learning models, such as K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Naive Bayes, and Support Vector Machines (SVM), as well as advanced deep learning models, specifically Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) networks. A key challenge addressed is the classification of mixed-language content, which is common on social media platforms in the MENA region. To enhance detection performance, preprocessing techniques were applied to the text data, and the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) was used to balance the dataset. The results show that the Bi-LSTM model outperformed traditional machine learning approaches, particularly in identifying hate speech across multiple languages. The proposed model demonstrates superior accuracy and robustness in handling mixed-language input, providing a more effective solution for real-world hate speech detection tasks. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Automatic essay scoring for discussion forum in online learning based on semantic and keyword similarities

Purpose: The authors constructed an automatic essay scoring (AES) model in a discussion forum where the result was compared with scores given by human evaluators. This research proposes essay scoring, which is conducted through two parameters, semantic and keyword similarities, using a SentenceTransformers pre-trained model that can construct the highest vector embedding. Combining these models is used to optimize the model with increasing accuracy. Design/methodology/approach: The development of the model in the study is divided into seven stages: (1) data collection, (2) pre-processing data, (3) selected pre-trained SentenceTransformers model, (4) semantic similarity (sentence pair), (5) keyword similarity, (6) calculate final score and (7) evaluating model. Findings: The multilingual paraphrase-multilingual-MiniLM-L12-v2 and distilbert-base-multilingual-cased-v1 models got the highest scores from comparisons of 11 pre-trained multilingual models of SentenceTransformers with Indonesian data (Dhini and Girsang, 2023). Both multilingual models were adopted in this study. A combination of two parameters is obtained by comparing the response of the keyword extraction responses with the rubric keywords. Based on the experimental results, proposing a combination can increase the evaluation results by 0.2. Originality/value: This study uses discussion forum data from the general biology course in online learning at the open university for the 2020.2 and 2021.2 semesters. Forum discussion ratings are still manual. In this survey, the authors created a model that automatically calculates the value of discussion forums, which are essays based on the lecturer's answers moreover rubrics. © 2023, Bachriah Fatwa Dhini, Abba Suganda Girsang, Unggul Utan Sufandi and Heny Kurniawati.

Using GPT and authentic contextual recognition to generate math word problems with difficulty levels

Automatic generation of math word problems (MWPs) is a challenging task in Natural Language Processing (NLP), particularly connecting it to real-life problems because it can benefit students in developing a higher level of mathematical thinking. However, most of the MWPs are presented within a scholastic setting in a decontextualized way. This paper describes a prototype system that generates authentic math word problems (i.e., real-life problems) using authentic contextual recognition with controlled difficulty levels. Our innovative approach includes the acquisition of authentic contextual information through recognition technology, an instructional-based prompt generator for three different difficulty levels, and question generation through the Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) model. We evaluated the performance of the system in terms of the quality of generated questions using automatic evaluation and human evaluation. Further, we assessed the usability of the system using heuristic evaluation. The automatic evaluation showed our generated MWPs were relevant for geometry topics and varied in sentence generation. The human evaluation found our system generated more realistic problems with satisfactory language quality and mathematical validity. Our system also produced more questions with higher difficulty levels based on human evaluation. Heuristic evaluation captured the usability of the system and highlighted the potential to be applied in a pedagogical context for mathematics learning. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
