Education stands out as one of the most impactful applications of the metaverse, holding immense potential for the future. Within the realm of satellite communication system science education, the integration of immersive learning through the metaverse adds a layer of interest and interactivity to the teaching and learning process. Numerous design and evaluation techniques have been employed in a growing body of research, aiming to understand how immersive learning via the metaverse can effectively contribute to specific educational objectives. Hence, this research is dedicated to delving into the development of an immersive learning metaverse model for the science of satellite communication systems. The research contributes a model that advocates for a holistic learning approach by integrating metaverse technology, VR, the 6E Instructional Process Model, and the MSLQ evaluation instrument. The objective of this model is to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and interactivity of learning within the field of satellite communication systems science. © 2024 IEEE.

In the digital era, digital talent development has become increasingly vital for organizations and economies to thrive. While much focus has been placed on technical skills, this report emphasizes the often-overlooked role of soft skills in developing digital talent. Through an extensive literature review and data analysis, the study identifies that soft skills are crucial in enhancing digital talent performance. This research explores the factors that influence Digital Talent Performance in Indonesia, specifically comparing the performance levels of male and female digital talents. Data were collected from college students in the Jabodetabek area (cities surrounding Jakarta, Indonesia) using a purposive sampling method, with an online questionnaire distributed to 378 respondents. The study utilized Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze the collected data using SmartPLS 4.1. software. Key variables examined include Communication Skills, Teamwork, Emotional Intelligence, Academic Achievement, Problem-Solving, Digital Readiness, Digital Skills, Digital technology, and Digital Talent Performance. Out of the nine hypotheses tested, one was not statistically significant. The results suggest that a combination of both technical and soft skills significantly affects digital talent performance, with important gender-based differences in performance levels emerging from the analysis. This research contributes to understanding Indonesia's complex dynamics of digital talent development. © 2024 IEEE.

3D medical image segmentation is an essential task in the medical image field, which aims to segment organs or tumours into different labels. A number of issues exist with the current 3D medical image segmentation task: existing models cannot simultaneously obtain the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices;previous models suffer from local detail loss of positional embedding in 3D images;previous approaches often have blurring of boundaries in segmenting 3D images. To solve these shortcomings, we propose a 3D medical image segmentation model named TPM-SAM. In our model, we design a twinchannel image encoder to simultaneously capture the space correlation and depth correlation of 3D slices through a multi-head attention mechanism and improved adapters. Furthermore, we design a prompt encoding generator, which divides the volumetric image into small blocks and better captures the local detail information. In addition, we introduce a multi-layer aggregation decoder by employing U-Net with multi-level skip connection to solve the blurring of boundaries in processing 3D images. Finally, we experimented and evaluated our model on KiTS21 and LiTS17 datasets to compare with other baseline models. © 2024 IEEE.

This study comprehensively analyzes the application of innovative deep learning (DL) and machine learning (ML) techniques in smart energy management systems (EMSs), with an emphasis on load forecasting, demand response, and the development of smart energy sectors. The application of various ML and DL models were examined in over 200 studies from 2014 to 2024 in an electrical network's EMS to highlight the key benefits and advances made by each technology for the sustainable management systems in energy sector. The findings emphasize DL and ML models’ enhanced precision and predictive capabilities in load forecasting, their efficacy in enabling efficient demand response mechanisms, and their significance in supporting the development of smart energy sectors. Furthermore, recommendations are made based on the survey results to assist in incorporating these techniques into EMS frameworks, such as investment in data infrastructure, model training and validation, and collaboration between researchers, industry experts, and policymakers. The study also discusses the limitations identified in the literature, such as limited real-world implementations, challenges regarding quality and data availability, and the need for enhanced ML and DL model interpretability. Addressing these limitations can assist in increasing the application and efficacy of ML and DL techniques in EMSs, enabling a more efficient and sustainable energy landscape. Finally, this study facilitates researchers' exploration of ML and DL in energy management, highlighting relevant limitations, strengths, and alternative approaches associated with sustainable energy management. It also indicates potential future research directions for further investigation. © The Author(s) 2025.

Batik is an Indonesian world cultural heritage. Batik consists of many kinds of patterns depending on where the batik comes from, Batik-making techniques continue to develop along with technology development. Among the batik making techniques that are widely used are hand-written, stamping, and printing. Batik motifs have been widely used as research material, especially in the field of artificial intelligence. The diverse appearance of batik motifs has attracted many researchers to carry out research on making synthetic batik patterns, one of which uses a Generative Adversarial Network. This paper presents a synthetic batik pattern model based on the Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Network with Gradient Penalty. This model has been proven to create new synthetic batik patterns quite well and almost identical with images provided in the dataset, with the notes if the dataset provided is large. © 2023 IEEE.

This work studies the effects of thermal stress on Dynamic Random-Access Memory (DRAM) retention-based Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs) based on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Single-Board computer (SBC) modules. Our results show that prolonged thermal stress, in general, leads to a decrease in the entropy of the responses of this PUF (as the number of bit flips is reduced) and a loss of its reliability (as responses taken before and after the stress has been applied to this PUF do not adequately match each other). Nevertheless, we note that as time passes after we stop applying thermal stress to the relevant PUF devices, their responses start to resemble more and more those that they produced before thermal stress was applied to them. As prolonged thermal stress has been utilised in order to induce artificial aging on electronics, our work not only studies the potential effects of aging on such electronics as DRAMs in general and DRAM PUFs in particular, but also sheds some doubt on the ability of this method to induce permanent effects that would truly resemble the effects of aging. © 2024 IEEE.

This exploration of human emotion recognition in voice data can provide information related to human emotions based on the intonation of a person's voice that describes that person's emotions. The selection of voice data to determine emotions compared to facial expressions is aimed at knowing the emotions of a person because, during this pandemic, most people wore masks so they could not see the person's facial expressions clearly. In this study, we explored emotion recognition using the Mel and Delta scales to obtain accuracy from the RAVDESS dataset used in this study using the 2-dimensional CNN algorithm used in this study. The predicted labels in this study are 4 labels per group: angry, sad, neutral, and happy. CNN has the ability to recognize and distinguish complex audio frequency alloys and shapes, such as emotional voices, which increases the accuracy of emotion recognition. The disadvantages of the CNN model are highly dependent on the features selected, and selecting the wrong features can reduce accuracy. In LR 0.01 we can see that the delta-delta-mfcc with an f1 score result of 57.95% and an accuracy score of 63.88% is the best value and in LR 0.001 we can see that the delta-delta-mfcc with an f1 score result of 56.65% and an accuracy score of 62.50% is the best value. © 2023 IEEE.

Water quality inspection (WQI) is one of the primary ways to ensure the safe utilization of water resources, and complicated data modeling, fusion and analysis play a significant role in seeking the resource with the best water quality. Nevertheless, the challenges of missing data, relatively large differences in decision results and bounded rationality owned by decision-makers (DMs) in terms of WQI still exist nowadays. Thus, from the aspect of stable and behavioral decision-making in multi-granularity incomplete intuitionistic fuzzy information systems (MG-IIFISs), the paper investigates a comprehensive multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) approach for the application of WQI. First, the concept of MG-IIFISs is built by modeling MAGDM problems with intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs), then a new transformation scheme is constructed for transforming MG-IIFISs into multi-granularity intuitionistic fuzzy information systems (MG-IFISs) based on the similarity principle. Second, three types of multigranulation intuitionistic fuzzy probabilistic rough sets (MG IF PRSs) are developed by referring to the MULTIMOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis plus the full MULTIplicative form) method. Afterwards, attribute weights are objectively calculated based on the best-worst method (BWM), and a new stable and behavioral MAGDM approach is constructed by means of the TODIM (an acronym in Portuguese for interactive multi-criteria decision-making) method. At last, a case study in the setting of WQI is conducted with the support of a UCI data set, and sensitivity analysis, comparative analysis and experimental analysis are investigated to display the validity of the proposed approach. In general, the proposed approach improves the stability of decision results via MULTIMOORA and BWM, and also fully considers the bounded rationality of DMs' psychological behaviors from the aspect of the TODIM method, which has certain advantages in the community of MAGDM studie

For Cardio-thoracic technology education program, the focus is on teaching pathophysiology, as well as the interpretation of electrocardiograms (ECG), through case studies. The curriculum includes instruction on treatment options and the use of electrophysiology studies (EP studies) for tachycardia and cardiac ablation. A portion of e-learning resources for ECGs and EP studies are delivered via web-based platforms. However, to date, there have been no e-learning platforms that combine instruction on pathological ECGs, EP study, cardiac ablation, or simulations of EP which would provide a more comprehensive learning experience for students. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to create the electrophysiology study simulator program (EPSSIM), which serves as an e-learning platform for EP studies and ECG. The development started with gathering information about ECG from the medical records of patients at a public hospital. MATLAB was used to generate synthetic heart signals. Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 was used to construct the EPSSIM program. A total of 47 cardio-thoracic technology students who used the program completed a pre-test and post-test and questionnaires. The effectiveness and satisfaction of the EPSSIM program were evaluated. The results showed that participants' scores improved, but the improvement was restricted due to the short time that the students were able to use the system. The participants who completed the satisfaction survey generally indicated satisfaction with the effectiveness of EPSSIM. Overall, the use of the application was beneficial and the application could be successfully used in future to enhance users knowledge. © 2023 IEEE.
