The Ministry of Health of Indonesia has referred to pre-eclampsia as one of the most severe diseases affecting women. As an urgency, it is crucial to administrate pre-eclampsia cases for disease prevention as a long-term national healthcare strategy. Regarding health science, case data was significant in developing research and innovation. However, the main problem regarding pre-eclampsia case administration is data handling, recording, and management incompetence. Hence, this research proposed a conceptual design of a database for pre-eclampsia case administration. The proposed design covered conceptual, logical, and physical design. We elaborate the concept into three concepts of pre-eclampsia disease: pre-treatment, treatment, and post-treatment. This study proposed a solution to gain more data and study pre-eclampsia disease in Indonesia. © 2023 IEEE.

Offsets Reconstruction Method for Clock Skew Measurement Over High-Jitter Communication

Measuring clock skew of devices over a network fully relies on the offsets, the differences between sending and receiving times. Offsets that shape a thick line are the most ideal one as their slope is directly the clock skew sought. When some outliers separate from the thick line due to higher delay jitter, current advanced approaches use the lower bound or the majority of offsets to derive accurate clock skew. However, outliers in offsets that shape parallel dotted lines, reduce the availability of offsets in the lower region, and scatter widely the offsets from their majority zone. These conditions drive the current skew estimation approaches to lose their accuracy. This paper then developed a new method, which reconstructs back the outliers into their origin positions, in order to provide ideal offsets for clock skew measurement. The experimental evaluations have demonstrated that the clock skew accuracy of dotted-lines offsets tampered by outliers was improved from 2.1 to 0.9 ppm by the proposed reconstruction method. For a broader purpose, the reconstruction method has been adjusted to be implemented also on non-dotted-lines offsets. The robustness of the proposed method for this case has also been exhibited by the very ideal reconstructed offsets that shape like a thick line. © The Author(s) 2025.

The nonlinear, time-varying, and lagging nature of the municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) process presents challenges for ensuring controller safety. While offline reinforcement learning (RL) can ensure safety in furnace temperature (FT) control, its performance is hindered by extrapolation errors, making it unsuitable for direct application in the incineration environment. To address this, we propose a conservative Q-learning-based furnace temperature control strategy (CQL-FTC). This strategy involves two stages: online sampling and offline training. During the online sampling stage, the agent interacts with the environment to collect samples, building an experience replay buffer (ERB) and performing pretraining. In the offline training stage, we introduce the CQL method, adding constraint terms to the traditional Bellman equation to minimize extrapolation errors. After offline training, the agent is directly applied to the FT setpoint control in the incineration process. Simulation results using the actual MSWI process dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in complex industrial environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Transportation systems primarily depend on vehicular flow on roads. Developed coun-tries have shifted towards automated signal control, which manages and updates signal synchronisation automatically. In contrast, traffic in underdeveloped countries is mainly governed by manual traffic light systems. These existing manual systems lead to numerous issues, wasting substantial resources such as time, energy, and fuel, as they cannot make real‐time decisions. In this work, we propose an algorithm to determine traffic signal durations based on real‐time vehicle density, obtained from live closed circuit television camera feeds adjacent to traffic signals. The algorithm automates the traffic light system, making decisions based on vehicle density and employing Faster R‐CNN for vehicle detection. Additionally, we have created a local dataset from live streams of Punjab Safe City cameras in collaboration with the local police authority. The proposed algorithm achieves a class accuracy of 96.6% and a vehicle detection accuracy of 95.7%. Across both day and night modes, our proposed method maintains an average precision, recall, F1 score, and vehicle detection accuracy of 0.94, 0.98, 0.96 and 0.95, respectively. Our proposed work surpasses all evaluation metrics compared to state‐of‐the‐art methodologies.

Higher education worldwide has adopted Video-Based Learning (VBL) over the past decade. They have tried to build a VBL system to improve services to students. However, the researcher's topic was not fully explored, especially in making the video itself. What features are mandatory and must be considered in making a video lecture to increase student engagement. A systematic review of the literature (SLR) is a way to identify these features. This study provides a critical analysis of the current research in VBL over the last five years (2017 - 2021). It presents a general trend examining 1336 journals and many literary works related to VBL design in Higher Education, selected through a stepwise process based on PRISMA Framework guidelines, using pre-defined selection criteria. We carefully selected 32 journals and found 22 features referring to the Lecture Video Design succession. © 2023 ACM.

Modern digital Role Playing Games are often played on some sort of a map. Creating those maps by artists can take a long time. In this paper we propose a solution for automatic creation of such maps, that can then be used as a support tool for creating a baseline map to work on by artists, or as an automatic map generator. The general approach of creating maps using our solution is briefly explained, and then a closer look at the ground part of the map creation process is taken. Our algorithm takes as an input a list of tiles to be used and a rough sketch of a map to be generated, prepared with specific colours. It then creates a tile grid from that sketch using simple downscaling. That tile grid is then corrected using methods proposed in this paper, so that it does not have sharp edges and mismatched tiles. Finally, using tiles from input, the grid is transformed into an output map that closely resembles the sketch in its structure. Our solution is tested in practice by means of several exemplary sketches, each accompanied with comment explaining the significance of obtained result. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Due to the constant reduction of semiconductor feature sizes, the charge sharing effect is getting worse. The occurrence probability of triple-node upset (TNU), which has a significant impact on the circuit’s reliability, is rising in nanoscale digital circuits. This paper proposes a low overhead and TNU self-recovery latch (TNU-SR) based on the 28 nm CMOS technology to efficiently tolerate TNU and reduce the power dissipation and latency of the latch. The latch design proposed in this article adopts stacked transistors to reduce sensitive nodes and area overhead. The TNU-SR latch uses clock gating and high-speed transfer path technology, resulting in low power dissipation and low delay. For simulation results, compared with existing latches, it can be known that the TNU-SR latch performs well in terms of delay, power consumption, and area, so it is a good choice for radiation-hardened design for space applications. In addition, compared with the latest TNU self-recovery latch (HLTNURL), the TNU-SR latch proposed in this paper reduces the Power-Area-Delay Product (PADP) metric by 111.13%. © 2001-2011 IEEE.

A vast number of technologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) have proliferated into various application domains. As part of its objectives to develop agents which can behave and think like humans, some branches of AI have focused on developing various algorithms that can learn from input data without explicitly being programmed. In the food industry, notably in restaurants, smartphone technology is typically used to collect data from customers efficiently such as orders or feedback toward the services provided. The use of smartphones by some restaurants is motivated by their convenience and efficiency. Furthermore, various promotions, discounts, and membership benefits offered by cellular service providers have attracted the use of smartphones as devices for improving restaurant services to their customers. This study aimed to conduct a sentiment analysis related to multi-brand restaurants in Indonesia based on customer feedback. The data retrieved from the Google Play Store consists of 756 reviews from Boga, Champs, Hangry, Ismaya, Kulo, and Union groups. In this study, TF-IDF was used as a vectorizer to represent customer feedback as numeric vectors. The polarity sentiment of customer feedback was recognized using classifier models based on machine learning such as Logistic Regression, Naive Bayes (NB), Random Forest, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) as the classifier. The empirical results showed that SVM has the best accuracy of 93.10 % average accuracy followed by Logistic Regression with 92.41 %, Random Forest with 84.14 % average accuracy, and Naive Bayes with 76.55 % average accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.
