The success rate of computerscience and engineering students in private universities are not high. It is helpful to find the model to assist students in registration planning. The objective of this research is to propose the classifier algorithm for building course registration planning model (CRPM) from historical dataset. The algorithm is selected by comparing performances of four classifiers include Bayesian network, C4.5, Decision Forest and NBTree. The dataset were obtained from student enrollments including grade point average (GPA) and grades of undergraduate students whose majors were computerscience or computer engineering. These dataset included grades in each subject of first and second year students from a private university in Thailand. Results showed that NBTree seemed to be the best of four classifiers which had highest prediction power. NBTree was used to generate CRP model which can be used to predict student class of GPA and consider student course sequences for registration planning.

Ray-space based arbitrary viewpoint rendering without complex object segmentation or model construction is the main technology to realize Free Viewpoint Video(FVV) system for complex scenes. Ray-space interpolation and compression are two key techniques for the solution. In this paper,correlation among multiple epipolar lines in ray-space data is analyzed,and a new method of ray-space interpolation with multi-epipolar lines matching is proposed. Comparing with the pixel-based matching interpolation method and the block-based matching interpolation method,the proposed method can achieve higher Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR) in interpolating rayspace data and rendering arbitrary viewpoint images.

The objective of this study is to propose a model for planning course registration by using a data mining technique: Bayesian network. The proposed model can be used to predict the sequences of courses to be registered by undergraduate students whose majors are computerscience or engineering. The data set was obtained from student enrollments and include GPA and grades in each subject for first and second year students from a private university in Thailand. Evaluations show that the predictive power of this model is acceptable. The implications from this studypsilas findings suggest that the model can be applied for advising students in planning courses to be registered in each semester. Further, the model appears to be useful for improving curriculum development in order to fit both studentspsila and university requirements.

In this paper, new local searches over tree space are defined. Using these local searches, various meta-heuristics can be generalized to deal with tree data structures to introduce a more general framework of meta-heuristics called Meta-Heuristics programming (MHP) as general machine learning tools. As an alternative to Genetic programming (GP) algorithm, Memetic programming (MP) algorithm is proposed as a new outcome of the MHP framework. The demanding usage of wireless technologies has brought opportunities for the online learning communities to participate in Network Based Project Learning (NBPL). However, if the projects in NBPL are not initiated by the industries, the graduate students are unable to gain the required skills in solving the real world problems. Lack of commitment from the non-office-based mobile workers due to the accessibility, availability and mobility constraints make the functionality of NBPL ineffective. In this paper, we introduce mobile NBPL which is integrated with Mobile Announcement System (MASY) in order to provide a great amount of freedom in accessing NBPL via mobile devices. This system is designed to facilitate student-lecturer-mobile worker interaction, provide broadcast information and ease collaborative work through the use of mobile devices. Besides, we also discuss the design, development and implementation of mobile NBPL, the architecture and the technology used as well as how the experiments are being conducted. The functionality testing has been carried out in the faculty of informationtechnology and Quantitative sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). A preliminary experiment result and experience that we have learned from this system will also be discussed.
