In the foreign currency exchange (FOREX), a technical data analysis system for predicting currency movements is needed to help traders in decision making. Thus, this study proposes a system of technical data analysis to movement prediction of Euro to USD using Genetic Algorithm-Neural Network (GANN). To generate a predicted value, Genetic Algorithm searching for the best value of Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN) trained with the Neural Network method that produced a net to predict. The Validation of predicted results with GANN method based on the degree of accuracy as follows. RMSE values of open is 0.00043; The RMSE values of high is 0.00068; The RMSE value of low is 0.00075; and RMSE values of close is 0.00070.

Background: Experimental and epidemiological studies indicate an association between exposure to particulate matter (PM) air pollution and increased risk of type 2 diabetes. In view of the high and increasing prevalence of diabetes, we aimed to quantify the burden of type 2 diabetes attributable to PM_2·5 originating from ambient and household air pollution. Methods: We systematically compiled all relevant cohort and case-control studies assessing the effect of exposure to household and ambient fine particulate matter (PM_2·5) air pollution on type 2 diabetes incidence and mortality. We derived an exposure–response curve from the extracted relative risk estimates using the MR-BRT (meta-regression—Bayesian, regularised, trimmed) tool. The estimated curve was linked to ambient and household PM_2·5 exposures from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2019, and estimates of the attributable burden (population attributable fractions and rates per 100 000 population of deaths and disability-adjusted life-years) for 204 countries from 1990 to 2019 were calculated. We also assessed the role of changes in exposure, population size, age, and type 2 diabetes incidence in the observed trend in PM_2·5-attributable type 2 diabetes burden. All estimates are presented with 95% uncertainty intervals. Findings: In 2019, approximately a fifth of the global burden of type 2 diabetes was attributable to PM_2·5 exposure, with an estimated 3·78 (95% uncertainty interval 2·68–4·83) deaths per 100 000 population and 167 (117–223) disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) per 100 000 population. Approximately 13·4% (9·49–17·5) of deaths and 13·6% (9·73–17·9) of DALYs due to type 2 diabetes were contributed by ambient PM2·5, and 6·50% (4·22–9·53) of deaths and 5·92% (3·81–8·64) of DALYs by household air pollution. 3D posture estimation for a hose-shaped robot is critical in rescue activities due to complex physical environments. Conventional sound-based posture estimation assumes rather flat physical environments and focuses only on 2D, resulting in poor performance in real world environments with rubble. This paper presents novel 3D posture estimation by exploiting microphones and accelerometers. The idea of our method is to compensate the lack of posture information obtained by sound-based time-difference-of arrival (TDOA) with the tilt information obtained from accelerometers. This compensation is formulated as a nonlinear state-space model and solved by the unscented Kalman filter. Experiments are conducted by using a 3m hose-shaped robot with eight units of a microphone and an accelerometer and seven units of a loudspeaker and a vibration motor deployed in a simple 3D structure. Experimental results demonstrate that our method reduces the errors of initial states to about 20 cm in the 3D space. If the initial errors of initial states are less than 20 %, our method can estimate the correct 3D posture in real-time.

This paper presents an online real-time method that enhances human voices included in severely noisy audio signals captured by microphones of a hose-shaped rescue robot. To help a remote operator of such a robot pick up a weak voice of a human buried under rubble, it is crucial to suppress the loud ego-noise caused by the movements of the robot in real time. We tackle this task by using online robust principal component analysis (ORPCA) for decomposing the spectrogram of an observed noisy signal into the sum of low-rank and sparse spectrograms that are expected to correspond to periodic ego-noise and human voices. Using a microphone array distributed on the long body of a hose-shaped robot, ego-noise suppression can be further improved by combining the results of ORPCA applied to the observed signal captured by each microphone. Experiments using a 3-m hose-shaped rescue robot with eight microphones show that the proposed method improves the performance of conventional ego-noise suppression using only one microphone by 7.4 dB in SDR and 17.2 in SIR.

This article presents a method to assess whether folksonomies are useful shared conceptualizations for conceptual modeling. A method based on the tripartite model (actors, concepts and instances) induces from social applications a folksonomy related to a domain of knowledge. The hypothesis of this paper is that if folksonomies are shared conceptualizations, then using them in conceptual modeling should reduce the number of divergences between actors when they elicit terms to be part of a model (a concept map in this article). A controlled experiment of conceptual modeling was performed with experimental groups who received tags inducted from data of categorizations from Delicious and control groups who received terms extracted from Web pages categorized on Delicious. The results show that the experimental groups obtained less divergences (on average) in elicitation of terms when compared to control groups.

This work presents a study of the CMOS based R-2R ladder network (also called M-2M) Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) as a potential candidate for ultra-low voltage (ULV) applications, i.e. supply voltages VDD lower than 200mV. MOS transistors operate in subthreshold under such very low VDD, and the circuit analysis must be done using an all-region continuous MOSFET model. Simulation results in a commercial 130 nm process corroborate the presented analysis, showing that it is possible to implement this DAC topology for 6 to 8 bits operating under supply voltages from 70 mV to 140 mV. © 2015 IEEE.

Lung adenocarcinoma is the most common type of lung cancer. Known risk variants explain only a small fraction of lung adenocarcinoma heritability. Here, we conducted a two-stage genome-wide association study of lung adenocarcinoma of East Asian ancestry (21,658 cases and 150,676 controls; 54.5% never-smokers) and identified 12 novel susceptibility variants, bringing the total number to 28 at 25 independent loci. Transcriptome-wide association analyses together with colocalization studies using a Taiwanese lung expression quantitative trait loci dataset (n = 115) identified novel candidate genes, including FADS1 at 11q12 and ELF5 at 11p13. In a multi-ancestry meta-analysis of East Asian and European studies, four loci were identified at 2p11, 4q32, 16q23, and 18q12. At the same time, most of our findings in East Asian populations showed no evidence of association in European populations. In our studies drawn from East Asian populations, a polygenic risk score based on the 25 loci had a stronger association in never-smokers vs. individuals with a history of smoking (P = 0.0058). These findings provide new insights into the etiology of lung adenocarcinoma in individuals from East Asian populations, which could be important in developing translational applications.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted gaps in health surveillance systems, disease prevention, and treatment globally. Among the many factors that might have led to these gaps is the issue of the financing of national health systems, especially in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs), as well as a robust global system for pandemic preparedness. We aimed to provide a comparative assessment of global health spending at the onset of the pandemic;characterise the amount of development assistance for pandemic preparedness and response disbursed in the first 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic;and examine expectations for future health spending and put into context the expected need for investment in pandemic preparedness. Methods: In this analysis of global health spending between 1990 and 2021, and prediction from 2021 to 2026, we estimated four sources of health spending: development assistance for health (DAH), government spending, out-of-pocket spending, and prepaid private spending across 204 countries and territories. We used the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)'s Creditor Reporting System (CRS) and the WHO Global Health Expenditure Database (GHED) to estimate spending. We estimated development assistance for general health, COVID-19 response, and pandemic preparedness and response using a keyword search. Health spending estimates were combined with estimates of resources needed for pandemic prevention and preparedness to analyse future health spending patterns, relative to need. Findings: In 2019, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, US$9·2 trillion (95% uncertainty interval [UI] 9·1–9·3) was spent on health worldwide. We found great disparities in the amount of resources devoted to health, with high-income countries spending $7·3 trillion (95% UI 7·2–7·4) in 2019;293·7 times the $24·8 billion (95% UI 24·3–25·3) spent by low-income countries in 2019. This paper describes an automated method for segmenting color images based on a modified stochastic region merging strategy with multi-scale spatial constraints. First, a bilateral decomposition is performed, and an over-segmentation process is then performed based multichannel information and multi-scale gradients. Next, each sub-region is represented using a normalized color histogram in the CIE L*a*b* color space, and a region adjacency graph is constructed based on the over-segmentation results. Finally, a stochastic region merging strategy with spatial constraints is performed on the region adjacency graph to construct one segmentation map for each scale of representation. Our preliminary visual and quantitative experimental results on the Berkeley image database (BSDS500) are encouraging, and suggest that our proposed approach can provide accurate segmentation results.

We aim at dimensioning fixed broadband microwave wireless networks under unreliable channel conditions. As the transport capacity of microwave links is prone to variations due to, e.g., weather conditions, such a dimensioning requires special attention. It can be formulated as the determination of the minimum cost bandwidth assignment of the links in the network for which traffic requirements can be met with high probability, while taking into account that transport link capacities vary depending on channel conditions. The proposed optimization model represents a major step forward since we consider dynamic routing. Experimental results show that the resulting solutions can save up to 45% of the bandwidth cost compared to the case where a bandwidth over-provisioning policy is uniformly applied to all links in the network planning. Comparisons with previous work also show that we can solve much larger instances in significantly shorter computing times, with a comparable level of reliability.
