Conducting a systematic mapping of the available knowledge within an organization is a common challenge in the knowledge Society. Such an activity is fundamental to optimize Organizational knowledge Management (OKM), favoring knowledge as a valuable intangible asset in the context of organizations. In this scenario, this article proposes a conceptual model to map the Organizational knowledge Ecosystem, covering four stages: Storage, Visualization, Analysis, and Action. In the Storage stage, a knowledge base is developed from a framework that maps essential Actors, Resources, and Activities (ARA) in the ecosystem;in Visualization, a knowledge graph is used to represent the relationships between elements;in Analysis, Social Network Analysis (SNA) is used to understand the dynamics and flows of knowledge from the interpretation of connection patterns;and finally, in the Action stage, knowledge management strategies and initiatives are implemented to optimize the use and dissemination of knowledge in the ecosystem. Complexity and richness characterize knowledge Ecosystems, necessitating a systemic approach for strategic knowledge Management;future directions include expanding the model beyond organizational boundaries, leveraging digital platforms and big data for insights, and exploring topics such as cultural influences on OKE. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Learning Analytics (LA) has the potential to transform the way we learn, work and live our lives. To reach its potential, it must be clearly defined, incorporated into institutional teaching-learning strategies and processes and practices. The main goal of this study is to list indicators to be used in learning analytics in programming teaching and how to expose their views. For the development of the indicator model, this study based on a qualitative analysis, using data visualization and business intelligence tools, in projects focused on Learning Analytics. This article explores the integration of Self-Directed Learning (SDL), Personal knowledge Management (PKM) and the Second Brain (SB) concept within the knowledge Society scenario. Highlighting SDL as a key contemporary competence, we emphasize the role of PKM in enhancing work efficiency and career development, crucial in an era marked by vast data influx. The SB concept is presented as a digital tool for effective information and knowledge organization, serving as a knowledge base along the CODE workflow and PARA system, also addressing challenges posed by the information age. The synergy between SB, PKM and SDL is examined as a holistic approach for optimizing knowledge management, fostering personal development and enhancing learning processes. We also discuss the implications for Organizational knowledge Management (OKM) and active learning in organizational settings, aiming to cultivate a culture of adaptability and lifelong learning. Web accessibility has been the subject of much discussion regarding the need to make Web content accessible to all people, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. While some testing techniques require human intervention, accessibility can also be evaluated by automated tools. Automated evaluation tools are software programs that examine the code of Web pages to determine if they conform to a set of accessibility guidelines that are often based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0), developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). In this context, the purpose of this study is to analyze an automated software program for evaluating authenticated environments and verify the usability of this tool, since automated systems require precision and reliability in terms of both results and use in any type of environment. With this in mind, this paper aimed at evaluating the ASES software by means of a heuristic evaluation carried out by three experts. The analysis revealed major accessibility problems, as well as improper functioning of available tools and inconsistency of results. Furthermore, ASES was found to have problems of efficiency, interaction, validity, and reliability in the results presented. Considering that this is an open-source accessibility testing tool that can be found on a government web site, the correction or improvement of the system's deficiencies identified in this study is highly recommended, as there is a lack of software available to evaluate authenticated environments. © 2014 Springer International Publishing.

Data generated across time may not be easily comparable in its original form thus potentially leading to results that may be perceived as unfair to some. We investigate quality assessment of scholarly researchers from their curricula vitae (CVs) for processes such as hiring, promotion, and grant funding. In previous work, we demonstrated that case-based reasoning (CBR) offers advantages as a transparent methodology to assess researcher quality. Its benefits include consistency, transparency, ability to adapt to specific purposes, and ability to provide explanation. The problem we now face is how to preprocess the data from the CVs to compare researchers whose scholarly production is achieved under different conditions, different points in time, and span different career trajectory lengths. We propose strategies to deal with these aspects of time during preprocessing of the data for case representation. We use 1,000 CVs from the Brazilian Lattes database to illustrate. SaaS (Software as a Service) has become one of the fastest-growing innovative fields of the IT sector. Yet, as any other software intensive organizations, SaaS providers also need to deliver the service quality they offer. And, although, today exist a multitude of software quality models, so far, a specific adaptation does not exist to the SaaS context. Therefore, we present the results of our research on discovering software process and product quality criteria in the SaaS scenario. We adopted a research methodology, including, domain analysis, stakeholders interviews and literature review to elicit quality criteria and a survey to validate and prioritize the identified criteria. Such a set of identified quality criteria may help service clients to select providers as well as serve as a basis for a mapping relevant software process areas and best practices in order to adapt existing capability/maturity models and standards to this specific domain. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of the initial guess to generate the Genetic Algorithm population of solutions of scheduling problems in relation to the quality and feasibility of the solutions. The scheduling problem is defined as to find the sequence of operations on the machines that optimize some performance measure as, for example, the use of resources and the total processing time (makespan). It is common to treat such problems with the use of metaheuristics as genetic algorithm mainly due to its computational complexity. This work carried out experiments with a set of literature instances, varying the sequencing rule used in the generation of initial solutions. Usually, rules from the literature have been tested and identified a hybrid rule that generates a smaller number of non-feasible solutions and the number of instances that have reached the optimal makespan. © 2017 Slovenian Society Informatika. The customization of software process capability/maturity models (SPCMMs) to specific domains/sectors or development methodologies represents one of the most discussed and applied trends in ICT organizations. Nonetheless, little research appears to have been performed on how theoretically sound and widely accepted SPCMMs should be developed to high quality. The aim of this paper is therefore to elicit the state-of-the-art regarding the processes adopted to develop such models and to propose a systematic approach to support the customization of SPCMMs. Such an approach is developed based on ISO/IEEE standard development processes integrating knowledge engineering techniques and experiences about how such models are currently developed in practice. Initial feedback from an expert panel indicates the usefulness and adequacy of the proposed method. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

Information involves in design process, and in fact designing is an activity of converting data, information and knowledge into a map and guidance of creating an artifact.
