The Langat River Basin in Malaysia is vulnerable to soil erosion risks because of its exposure to intensive land use activities and its topography,which primarily consists of steep slopes and mountainous ***,climate change frequently exposes this basin to drought,which negatively affects soil and water ***,recent studies have rarely shown how soil reacts to drought,such as soil ***,the purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between drought and soil erosion in the Langat River *** analyzed drought indices using Landsat 8 satellite images in November 2021,and created the normalized differential water index(NDWI)via Landsat 8 data to produce a drought *** used the revised universal soil loss equation(RUSLE)model to predict soil *** verified an association between the NDWI and soil erosion data using a correlation *** results revealed that the southern and northern regions of the study area experienced drought *** predicted an average annual soil erosion of approximately 58.11 t/(hm^(2)·a).Analysis of the association between the NDWI and soil erosion revealed a strong positive correlation,with a Pearson correlation coefficient of *** assumed that the slope length and steepness factor was the primary contributor to soil erosion in the study *** a result,these findings can help authorities plan effective measures to reduce the impacts of drought and soil erosion in the future.

Indonesia’s high Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and İnfant Mortality Rate (IMR) are major health concerns. In Indonesia’s 2020, MMR was 199/100,000 live births, exceeding the 2015–2030 global target of 70/100,000. Geographic Information Systems (GISs) maternal and infant health are useful in mapping and evaluating pregnant women’s locations to determine health facility access. This study aimed to describe the use of GIS to map pregnant women, risky pregnant women, and the distance to the nearest health facility in a remote rural Indonesian area. The study used descriptive quantitative surveying. This study focused on rural pregnant women in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi. The sampling method used the total population. This study uses ArcGIS to find coordinates points using latitude and longitude points. Descriptive analysis to be used maps pregnant women’s risk of accessing health facilities. Results this research, using GIS to map pregnant women, especially high-risk ones, to shelters and health facilities found 47.7% have a risk of pregnancy, 34.9% get to the hospital in 50–60 min, and 1.1% above 60 min. GIS mapping in rural pregnant women can monitor high-risk pregnancies, but it must be enhanced continuously. GIS in health, especially for mothers and children, can help the government present health equality policies by estimating distance and time to access health facilities, especially in specific geographic locations, with decreased MMR and improving maternal and child health. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The purpose of this research is to identify the risk of the precast façade procurement of buildings in Jakarta. In this study there are three phases, procurement planning, implementation of the procurement and procurement management. The stage refers to PMBOK (6th Edition). On the procurement of precast façade wall buildings there are several constraints that can be the cause of risk that affects the delay of the construction project. Therefore, the main problem in this research is to be able to know and identify the cause of the risk of precast façade wall procurement on high rise buildings in Jakarta and to know the precast façade wall character on Building. The results of this research are expected to be a reference in preventing and minimizing the risks that occur in precast façade wall procurement in high rise buildings in Jakarta. © 2020 Institute of Physics Publishing. In this study, we presented the defect identification analysis based on the level-set type topology optimization using hammering testing data. To simulate the oscillation behavior of concrete structure, the equation of motion in three dimensions is introduced as the governing equation. The performance function is defied by the time integral of the squared residual between the computed and observed displacements. The problem is to find the defect topologies so as to minimize the performance function. In the model with a small number of observation points, it was found that nonexistent defects disappeared by using the weighted sensitivity method. In addition, it was confirmed that the model with a large number of observation points did not show the same tendency as the model with a small number of observation points because the accuracy of defect identification increased as the number of observation points increased. © 2023

Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and Digital Elevation Models (DEM) are important for obtaining the Index of Connectivity, as they provide valuable information to assess the possibility of sediments reaching the riverbed in watershed basins. This is crucial for proactive management, as it allows the adoption of preventive and mitigating measures. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of the spatial resolution of DEMs with resolutions of 5 m and 2 m, and between the DTM and DEM at 2 m, in determining the Index of Connectivity (IC). Additionally, it was investigated whether it is possible to use only one spatial resolution of digital models to assess the geospatial distribution of IC for all hydrogeomorphological landscapes of the Duas Bocas River watershed, located in the Metropolitan Region of Greater Vitória, in the state of Espírito Santo, Southeast Brazil. For this study, the Borselli Index of Connectivity model (et al., 2008) was used, originally developed for rural areas of Italy and widely applied in different regions worldwide. The data used, including Digital Elevation and Terrain Models and land use and cover information, were obtained from the Integrated Geospatial Base System of the State of Espírito Santo (Brazil), which is publicly *** results indicate that a better geospatial representation of IC occurs when changing the spatial resolution of DEMs from a 5 m pixel to a 2 m pixel and when using the 2 m DTM instead of the 2 m DEM. When analyzing the relationship between IC and the hydrogeomorphological landscapes in the basin, it was observed that, in the absence of models with an even finer pixel resolution, the 2 m DTM is the most suitable option, as it presented IC values consistent within and between landscapes in the Escalated Terraces of Southern Espírito Santo, Coastal Hills and Massifs, and Coastal Plateaus sectors. Design and construction of road embankment presents several challenges, including the possibility of bearing capacity failure, large total settlement, differential settlement, and slope instability, which may result from the weight of the embankment construction itself, and/or weak foundation. A number of techniques have been developed and can be used to overcome these problems, one of them is by modifying the weight of the embankment itself with the use of lightweight materials, such as soil-EPS mixture. The use of soil-EPS mixture as lightweight material provides several advantages, among which can achieve the same volume or elevation requirement with a significantly lighter weight compared to ordinary materials, improving slope stability, embankment over high compressibility soil, and to reduce soil pressure to soil retaining structures, abutment or bridge pillar. Fly ash also added to act as binder to increase shear strength of mixture. The result of the compaction test shows that the addition of a small amount of EPS to the mixture can significantly reduce the maximum dry density of the mixture. Triaxial UU and UCS test results show a reduction in mixture strength as EPS contents increase, but due to the presence of fly ash increases the strength of mixture as the number of day increases, so that the use of lightweight materials has the potential to be one of soil improvement solutions. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The existence of aquatic plants has a significant influence on the biota living at wellspring. The osmotic pressure is significant research to understand the adaptation of the environment changing to organism physiology. This research aims to know the Osmotic Work Rate by comparing osmolarity water value to aquatic plant plasma. The research method is the descriptive analysis of laboratory test results. The water sample was taken from the seven locations of the wellspring. Osmotic work rate is taken from comparing the plasma osmolarity value of the aquatic plant to water Osmolarity. Osmotic work rate zero means osmoregulation patterns isosmotic. The osmotic work rate greater than zero implies osmoregulation patterns hyperosmotic regulatory and osmoregulation patterns hypo-osmotic regulatory if the Osmotic work rate is less than zero. The patterns are used from the seven locations of good springs are the same, osmoregulation patterns of Hyperosmotic regulatory to the environment because the plasma osmolarity of water plants is more significant than water osmolarity.

Optimization of vertical spacing between each row of a vertical shelf to meet minimum sunlight requirement for strawberries

Vertical farming (VF) allows for more plants to be cultivated in a particular land area, maximizing land-use efficiency. VF employs multileveled shelves enabling crops to be planted at each level. This paper aims to develop an optimization model that could generate a required setup of a vertical shelf that would meet the sunlight requirements of strawberries. Firstly, the simulation model was developed using Rhino (Rhinoceros) software with Grasshopper plugin, which can predict the sunlight availability at each VF shelf level. The model is validated by the experiment in Chiang Mai province, Thailand, at an elevation higher than 310 m above mean sea level. The experiment set up of the VF shelf with three levels was constructed, and the solar radiation values were recorded and validated against the radiation predicted by the model. The validated model is used to simulate the sunlight radiation on each level of the shelf for different shelf designs with varying vertical spacings between each level. These sets of predicted radiation values and vertical spacings are used to train the ANN (Artificial Neural Network) model. The ANN simulation model was developed using MATLAB software with Simulink and Neural Net Fitting App. The trained ANN model has an MSE (Mean Squared Error) of 0.00019621 and an R (the correlation coefficient) value of 0.9992. As a result, the optimization model could successfully give out the vertical spacing between each level of the VF shelf with an input of desired sunlight availability on each level. For the PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) of 600 µmol/m2/s on both levels, the spacing should be 51.34 cm from the top to the middle (y1) and 48.69 cm from the middle to the bottom (y2). To receive 600 and 500 µmol/m2/s on the middle and bottom level respectively, the levels should be placed 66.77 cm (y1) and 30.89 cm (y2) apart.

This research aims to identify risks in the procurement façade precast phase in buildings in Jakarta. In this research, there are three phases of procurement based on PMBOK that is planning,implementation and management. The problem in this research is to be able to know and identify the cause of the risk of procurement façade precast on high rise buildings in Jakarta and to know the façade precast wall characteristic in buildings. The research object is a building in Jakarta area. The test conducted in this study is validity with Expert Judgement, factor test, regression test and model test with the help of SPSS 23 program. Obtained 38 risk variables based on data collection through the study of the library. Furthermore, the correlation test and intercorrelation are only obtained 12 variables that worth to used. Based on the results of analysis conclusions, of the 3 factors and 38 risk variables that affect project completion performance. The most dominant or significant risk has been obtained: X9 = design planning, X31 = the existence of rework, X16 = location of difficult sites, X14 = transportation and delivery problems.

Building operational management has consistently become a requirement to fulfill, especially for buildings that are enabled for the public interest. The concept of operational management especially in the maintenance of poor buildings can cause a variety of functions building facilities will be increasingly decreased and affect the quality and comfort of the building, hence it is very important to the owner of the building/Building users know the understanding and process of building operational management. This research aims to study the understanding of operational management and based on research results there are 4 stages of the process in operational management, namely review design, planning, organizing, movement, and Control.
