Negation handling is often overlooked in Indonesian sentiment analysis, making it difficult to automatically and accurately determine the polarity of sentences containing negation words. Negation is a challenging issue in natural language processing, as it can drastically alter the meaning of a sentence. For example, common Indonesian negation words such as 'tidak' (no/not), 'belum' (not yet), or 'jangan' (do not) can reverse the sentiment polarity in a text. Previous studies have proposed rule-based approaches, relying on linguistic rules or dependency parse trees to handle negation. However, negation is a complex problem that cannot be effectively addressed by simple rules alone, as they often lack flexibility in handling diverse sentence structures and negation complexities. Therefore, a more dynamic approach is needed, such as combining a dependency parser with an embedding layer, which can map syntactic relationships between words and learn vector representations of negation. This allows the model to flexibly determine the scope of negation words, enabling more accurate sentiment analysis even in complex sentences. This study evaluates the impact of negation handling on a transformer-based model, specifically XLNet, in Indonesian sentiment analysis. Using the proposed method, the model's F1 score increased by 2.13%, from 71.42% to 73.55%, compared to the baseline model. This demonstrates that the proposed negation handling strategy enhances sentiment prediction accuracy, making the model more effective at handling texts with negation. © 2024 IEEE.

Enhancing Efficiency in Yolov8n for Real-Time Detection of Oil Palm Fruits in Plantations Using Mobileone and Cross-Fusion

Accurate detection of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) ripeness in complex plantation environments is challenging due to occlusion, varying lighting, intricate visual features, and limited computational resources of mobile devices. To address this, a resource-efficient, real-time detection system was developed using an optimized YOLOv8n model. The model integrates MobileOne modules and Cross-Fusion blocks to enhance efficiency without compromising accuracy. Specifically, Conv and C2f modules were replaced with MobileOne modules, reducing parameters by 85% and 81%, respectively. Cross-Fusion improved feature fusion, and its combination with MobileOne (CF-MobileOne) achieved a 51% reduction in parameters while maintaining performance. The dataset comprised images from videos captured in plantations, annotated into five maturity stages: flower, unripe, underripe, ripe, and abnormal, and underwent augmentation with class balancing through manual undersampling. The model outperformed baseline YOLOv8 variants and heavier models like YOLOv9c and Faster R-CNN, achieving an mAP50 of 0.795 and an inference speed of 140.57 FPS. Hyperparameter tuning with a batch size of 64, SGD optimizer, and a learning rate of 0.01 yielded optimal results. Despite challenges in detecting certain classes due to visual similarities and environmental variations, the system effectively enhances productivity and efficiency in precision agriculture for the palm oil industry. © 2024, The Authors. Following the evolution of technology, researchers have conducted several studies to propose reliable scholarship recommender systems. However, few have explored the data storage systems, which are highly beneficial to collect huge volumes of real data in training the recommender systems. In this paper, a database design for collecting such data was proposed, equipped with integer encodings for categorical variables and a method to normalize variables with varying ranges. Using Connoly and Begg's database design method, the final design consisted of a normalized Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and data dictionaries. The design was also constructed to support usages of various data for determining scholarship recipients, including education history, achievements, and organizational experiences. The proposed design can be implemented on information systems to allow easier information access for scholarships in Indonesia. © 2022 IEEE.

In this research, the author addresses the prevalent issues faced by users of cloud services, especially those using Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology, such as connection losses, security concerns, and poor video quality. The study does not delve into the complex problems at the data center level but instead proposes a novel Design science Research approach. This new method, tested with five clients in varied locations, utilizes port forwarding to establish a direct server-client connection, bypassing traditional P2P frameworks. The results show that this approach significantly improves quality over the P2P system. Feedback from clients before and after the experiment indicates a positive response to this new method. This research offers insights into overcoming P2P-related issues in cloud services and contributes to the development of cloud-based server science, presenting a cost-effective, independent alternative to data center-dependent P2P services, with plans for ongoing research in this area. © 2023 IEEE.

Exams are an important component of any educational program, including online education. In any test, there is a possibility of cheating, so its detection and prevention is important. This study aims to conduct an in-depth study of the online exam monitoring model approach based on facial recognition used to detect cheating. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria designed, 13 selected studies were obtained. From these studies, we conducted further analysis regarding the Face Detection Method, Face Recognition Method, Initial Feature, Behavior Analysis and Evaluation Metrics used in each study so as to provide answers to research questions. the most frequently used Face detection method was Viola-Jones with a presentation of 20%, then CNN and MTCNN with a total presentation of 21%. The most widely used face recognition method in selected studies is CNN and metrics Accuracy is one of the most frequently used evaluations with a percentage of 33%. While the features that are usually used to detect cheating during online exams include facial motion and head pose which occupies the first position. The second is eye movement, then multiple faces gaze estimation and facial expression is in third place. Other features that also play a role in analyzing cheating behavior are mouth detection, facial vector, landmark location, gesture and posture. © 2022 IEEE.

Cancer, also known as malignant neoplasm, is a complex and potentially fatal disease characterized by uncontrolled and abnormal cell growth in the body. The main problems with microarray cancer studies are the high curse of dimensionality and small sample size caused by redundant and irrelevant genes. To deal with the number of features that exceed the amount of data, this research purposed double filtering method Lasso-GA, Lasso is used to select the features based on feature correlation while Genetic Algorithm is used to optimize the most important features with accuracy traditional machine learning as its fitness function. The results show how effective the suggested method is; in breast cancer, the linear SVC model achieves excellent accuracy (0.93), precision (0.94), recall (0.94), and F1 score (0.94), while in lung cancer, the linear SVC, random forest, and logistic regression models perform well (accuracy: 0.95, precision: 0.92, recall: 1, F1 score: 0.95). Logistic regression is the most effective method for bladder cancer, with an accuracy of 0.82, precision of 0.77, recall of 1, and F1 score of 0.87.

Hoaxes are something that can not be avoided, especially in Indonesia, where the literacy rate in Indonesia is quite low, they are easy to believe in news without doing fact check. The worst thing is that news that is trusted by the public may not be read completely through the entire content. They believe, from the title alone could already covers the entire content of the news. Media in the other side, are also competing to make controversial titles so that their traffic is improved. The research that will be carried out by us is where we can classify a news whether it is a fact or a hoax from the title alone. The RoBERTa (A Robustly Optimized BERT Pretraining Approach) model will be used in this study, because in several previous studies RoBERTa has proven to be good for classification. The accuracy achieved in this study also reached 99.52% with an accuracy validation of 93.84% which shows that even with an imbalanced dataset the classification shows a promising result by using the RoBERTa model which data is balanced using the undersampling method. © 2022 IEEE.

Defragmentation can potentially be employed as a tactic by perpetrators to conceal, misrepresent, or eliminate digital evidence. This study explores the effects of minor defragmentation, a potential method to conceal digital evidence, on recovering file system data in digital forensics. Our investigation sought to determine the influence of minor defragmentation on the effectiveness of data recovery and to identify methods that can augment the success rate post-defragmentation. We limited the scope of this study to defragmentation in Hard Disk Drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), and USB drives. A mixed-method approach employs a literature review, case studies, and controlled experiments. Comparative analysis was used as the main data analysis technique to investigate its impact. Preliminary findings suggest that minor defragmentation hampers data recovery; however, certain strategies can augment success rates. These results can significantly influence the development of data recovery policies, particularly those of digital forensic analysts and law enforcement. The primary objective of this study is to bolster the efficiency and dependability of file system data recovery post-defragmentation while upholding ethical and legal standards.

As one of the cancer types with the highest incidence rates, colorectal cancer (CRC) would benefit from treatments with fewer side effects and reduced treatment-resistant potential. One of the options is to harness the anti-CRC potential of natural products. Previous studies have shown that Calamus draco exudate, dragon's blood, has anticancer activity in liver cancer and acute myeloid leukemia, but its bioactivity has not been studied in CRC. Here we conduct a bioinformatics study based on network pharmacology to explore the anti-CRC potential and mechanism of C. draco-derived compounds. The bioinformatics pipeline is composed of compound and target collection, biological network evaluation, and enrichment analysis. We found that there are 43 bioactive compounds from C. draco targeting 91 CRC-related targets, of which most compounds target MEN1, PTGS2, and IDH1. Further analyses show that the targets of C. draco are involved in the cellular response to hypoxia. By inhibiting those targets, C. draco bioactive compounds can potentially hinder angiogenesis and increase treatment response efficacy. © 2024 The Authors.

Electrodermal activity (EDA) is a general term for all electrical phenomena occurring on the skin, both passive and active. EDA measurements are used by researchers to measure levels of stress, emotion, mental strain, and so on. Measuring human stress levels, emotions, and mental strain are generally associated with the skin conductance response. The function GSR sensor is not only used to read people's psychology but also can be used as a pain sensor used to read the degree of pain in the skin. This pilot study uses sample data from ***. The *** data is galvanic skin response sensor data. The output of this sensor is the conductivity value that occurs in the skin. The data obtained from *** will be extracted using the mean, standard deviation, maximum, minimum, RMS, skewness, and peak-to-peak characteristics. The extracted functions are selected using the forward selection method. The results of the feature selection are three features with an accuracy percentage greater than 50%, namely the mean feature, the RMS feature, and the skewness feature. The machine learning models used are bagged tree, SVM, and K-NN models. Of the three models used, the bagged tree model has the highest accuracy rate, at 98.05%, with an F1 score is 0.9807. The KNN model with k=10 has the lowest level of accuracy compared to other models, at 96.75%. © 2023 IEEE.
