The building sector represents high potential to address the energy use and occupants' comfort and well-being. This paper aims to proposed a methodological framework to assess energy and thermal comfort performance in buildings. The research framework was applied in an educational building using a library of Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), Thailand as a case study. A representative building was modeled using SketchUp plugin with OpenStudio platform and EnergyPlus simulation engine for energy simulation. Thermal comfort parameters were measured in each floor of DPU's library and calculation of thermal comfort indices based on the PMV (Predicted Mean Vote) and PPD (Predicted Percentage Dissatisfied) using the CBE Thermal Comfort Tool. It was found that the simulated energy is in line with the measured data with differences between -0.26% to 3.87%, depending on the floor. The energy intensity of DPU's library is 66.53 kWh/m2/year. Based on the measurements, the PMV and PPD of a reference building are -0.57 and 12%. Ten measures were simulated to assess the energy performance as well as thermal comfort conditions. It was found that seven measures can address both energy performance and thermal comfort in a case study building. © 2022 IEEE.

Banking and Fintech are encouraged to collaborate to fill each other's deficiencies and further grow the digital economy. This collaboration will create benefits for both banks, Fintech, and customers. However, this collaboration also comes with risks. The Financial Services Authority has stated that several risk phenomena can occur in the collaboration of banks and Fintech. First, no law guarantees the protection and exchange of customer personal data. Second, the risk of customer data leakage. Third, the risk of cyberattacks. The fourth is the risk of outsourcing. This research aims to analyze the risk phenomenon of bank and fintech collaboration through the Enterprise Risk management Framework approach. This study uses a phenomenological research approach, which is a study to study how individuals subjectively experience and give meaning to the phenomenon. Data analysis based on this phenomenon data uses qualitative methods involving banking and fintech practitioners. The results of this study describe the phenomenon of risks that occur in banking-fintech collaboration, as approached by the Enterprise Risk management framework. Proper risk management will minimize risks when the Bank collaborates with FinTech. This study hopefully contributes to making brief policy recommendations on bank and fintech collaboration risk management for Indonesian financial regulators. © 2023 IEEE.

This study analyzes the decision-making support system based on artificial intelligence, which provides decision-making support and suggestions for doctors' clinical medication, and its technical characteristics. The study conducted interviews with 6 experts and scholars and analyzed a total of 267 experts with questionnaires. Three rounds of questionnaire interviews and responses were conducted from the four dimensions of 'technology', 'process', 'behavior' and 'influence', and a mixed method approach was adopted. The analysis method is used to analyze to clarify the technical predictions or expectations of technology developers and technology users for the application of artificial intelligence in clinical medication decision support systems. The research results indicate that the construction of the system requires a large amount of patient medical information, clinical treatment guidelines and other medical professional knowledge for technology developers. For technology users, there are issues related to 'user field' and 'user habits' regarding user processes and behaviors, so opinions are inconsistent. In particular, clinical experts believe that critical procedures and high-risk situations will affect the utilization rate of artificial intelligence introduction. Therefore, system development should include medical personnel to provide suggestions and feedback on the construction of the system, in terms of medical information, clinical treatment guidelines and other medical professional knowledge. © 2024 PICMET.

In this paper, the authors investigate the current state of the lighting design and control sector in Thailand's creative industry. The government aims to promote the creative industry as a key source of income, but there needs more skilled professionals in the industry. The authors have found that successful cases have used the Internet for remote controlling in the creative industry in other countries. Therefore, the paper will explore the potential of using technology to improve professional efficiency and assess the feasibility of implementing remote lighting control systems via the Internet with Thai lighting designers and lighting console operators. Data will be collected through qualitative in-depth interviews and quantitative surveys. The results have shown a promising acceptance rate of wireless devices for lighting control due to their mobility, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and positive attitudes toward adopting Internet technology. The authors have also proposed a concept design for an internet-based control system tailored to Thai users, focusing on simplicity, ease of connection, and user-friendliness to accommodate those with limited network configuration knowledge. The proposed system aims to reduce professionals, save time, and increase convenience, leveraging Thailand's extensive wireless internet coverage. These systems could significantly benefit Thailand's creative industry by addressing the shortage of skilled professionals and improving efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

The 2011 flood in Thailand exposed significant vulnerabilities in industrial areas, highlighting the necessity for enhanced disaster risk management through Area-Business Continuity management (Area-BCM). This preliminary study focuses on identifying how stakeholders rely on information from each other to improve disaster preparedness and response. The research involves systematically identifying Area-BCM stakeholders and designing interview questions, which are evaluated by experts using the Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) to ensure relevance and clarity. All interview questions surpassed the IOC threshold of 0.5, confirming their effectiveness in capturing information interdependencies. Expert feedback led to refinements in the questions, underscoring the importance of tailored data collection. This initial plan provides a critical foundation for understanding information interdependence and highlights the importance of well-designed data collection methods. The findings have significant implications for developing more resilient disaster management strategies in industrial areas, emphasizing the need for precise and relevant stakeholder communication to enhance Area-BCM effectiveness. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper evaluates the performances and dynamics of productivity changes of 38 airlines from different regions of the world between 2015 and 2019, assessing the effects of business model, alliance membership, the economic development level of the home country, and size on the operational performance of the airlines. In this regard, first, constant returns to scale (CRS) and variable returns to scale (VRS) input-oriented data envelopment analysis (DEA) models with three inputs and two outputs are implemented. The input-oriented CRS model super-efficiency DEA is also used to discriminate between efficient airlines. The Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) estimates efficiency dynamics across time. Further, the determinants of operational efficiencies are assessed by applying Mann-Whitney rank-sum tests. The analysis results show that most airlines suffer from scale inefficiency. MPI signifies productivity deterioration in airlines’ performance. It is found that low-cost carriers (LCC) have performed better than full-service carriers and alliance member airlines are less efficient than non-member airlines. Additionally, developed country airlines show better performance than their emerging country counterparts. Lastly, the size of airlines measured in available seat kilometers (ASK) is found to have no statistically significant effect on performance. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

In recent years, research on live streaming has developed rapidly among scholars. Especially scholars are increasingly interested in understanding consumer behaviors regarding purchasing behavior on live streaming platforms, which is classified as transactional behavior. A separate consideration is a non-transactional behavior, as there are currently many live-streaming platforms that are not only used for sales activities but also to broadcast games, cooking, and eating activities, which do not focus on consumer behavior in live-streaming activities. This study investigates consumers' non-transactional behavior (e.g., stickiness behavior) on live streaming platforms using socio-technical theory and trust transfer. This study tested the hypothesis on 285 Indonesian participants participating in various live-streaming activities across various platforms. Data analysis was performed using a structural equation modeling approach using Smart-PLS 4.0 software. In the study, interactivity and visualization significantly impacted cognitive trust more than affective trust. Although cognitive trust significantly impacts affective trust, it will also similarly impact consumers when they already possess it. The study also confirms that both types of trust increase stickiness behaviors. This is primarily because building cognitive trust is a priority for trust transfer. Therefore, it can increase stickiness behavior and affective trust, which, in this study, evolve significant managerial implications. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, research has been conducted to establish a method for quickly and appropriately determining damage to buildings during an earthquake using sensors, and it’s useful to appropriately evaluate the maximum and residual displacement during an earthquake. The purpose of this study is to propose a disaster assessment method using a satellite positioning system that directly measures the response displacement of a building from satellite positioning information. In this paper, the positioning accuracy is verified when calculating the relative displacement using two movable vibration tables that assume the top floor of a building and the ground surface under earthquake. © 2024 Architectural Institute of Japan. This article describes the architecture of software services that provide registration of small boat data to build maritime safety. The proposed system architecture which so-called SIMKAPEL aims to support small boat registration for maritime safety. It is developed from a conventional service-oriented architecture (SOA) with an open standard for data interoperability between elements. The goal of this research is to implement and evaluate the proposed architecture to support small boat registration and e-certification. Several parts of the architecture have been implemented as a platform that provides core services and data sources to be used by Ministry of Transportation, Directorate General of Sea Transportation, and other government agencies. Finally, the proposed SIMKAPEL platform with the SOA architecture is evaluated for its benefits to users through the expert opinion survey to measure its efficiency. The analysis results showed that SOA-based SIMKAPEL is feasible to use as a boat e-certification system. Furthermore, experiment results provide three parameters (e.g., maritime safety, namely, cargo/passengers, boat safety facilities, and maritime safety systems) with efficiency values of 42%, 46%, and 42%, respectively. The parameter with the highest efficiency shows a big effect on the level of safety of the boat and passengers. Thus, the parameters that need to be prioritized and need boat owners’ attention are cargo/passenger, boat safety equipment, and maritime safety system. © 2023, The Author(s).

This study aims to explore the motivational factors affecting knowledge sharing among lawyers in intellectual property law firms. Through an integrative review of existing empirical and theoretical literature, the research develops a conceptual framework to understand these motivational factors. The findings identify eight key extrinsic factors and two intrinsic factors influencing knowledge sharing for lawyers in intellectual property law firms. This research provides valuable insights into motivational factors that can be used by intellectual property law firms to improve knowledge sharing practices among lawyers. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – Science and technology Publications, Lda.
