Reducing EHR navigation time with an advanced hyperlipidemia management Tool: An evaluation of efficiency

Background Effective management of hyperlipidemia is crucial for preventing cardiovascular diseases. However, traditional monitoring systems often lack efficiency, particularly in navigating electronic health records (EHRs) to identify and track at-risk patients. Objective This study aims to evaluate the impact of a Hyperlipidemia Medication Reminder System (HLD-MRS) implemented in a district hospital to streamline EHR navigation and enhance patient management. Methods A pre-post prospective study was conducted at a district hospital. This study designed the HLD-MRS to integrate patient data, guideline recommendations, and risk factor assessments into a single interface, simplifying EHR navigation. This study compared EHR navigation times and patient tracking rates before and after HLD-MRS implementation across the Cardiology, Endocrinology, and Family Medicine departments. Results Among 750 patients with follow-up appointments, 334 were identified as having HLD or being at high-risk status. The HLD-MRS significantly reduced mean EHR navigation time from 83.9 s (SD = 8.6) to 53.8 s (SD = 6.6) across all departments (p < 0.001). The proportion of actively monitored HLD patients increased from 42.5 % to 56.6 %, while cases with unknown or withheld assessment status decreased from 57.5 % to 28.4 %. Conclusion The HLD-MRS improved efficiency in EHR navigation and increased the frequency of active patient monitoring. This guideline-driven decision support system shows promise for enhancing hyperlipidemia care in high-volume outpatient settings.

The aim of this paper is to compare the ability of two numerical models to simulate two-dimensional dam-break flows. Dam-break modelling is important in reducing the high-risk of dam failure by determining the water flow movement and its effect on buildings downstream. In this study, the Taylor Galerkin and Forward Time Central Space method is presented to simulate 2-D dam-break flow. The Hansen filter is applied to both methods to reduce numerical instability oscillations in the model. The filters were used for each time step at each computing point. The model is verified by comparing the result simulation with numerical results from previous studies. The result show that Taylor Galerkin numerical scheme with Hansen filter is successful to simulate the problem of 2-D dam-break. Also, the Taylor Galerkin model has better results than the FTCS model. Studies like this are needed for mitigation efforts in the event of dam failure.

This paper presents a comprehensive high impedance fault model for real-time environment. This model offers different types of ground surface and high impedance faults. Experimental results show that it is suitable for relays and algorithms commissioning in closed loop environment. The model is incorporated into OPAL-RT simulator and implemented in Hypersim software. Finally, the performance of the model is validated under a real case of high impedance fault by comparison with real-time simulation. © 2019 IEEE.

The pattern of lumpy demand affects the healthcare industry such as small community hospitals which encounter sporadic demands of slow-moving medicines. The objective of this work aimed to study performance of forecasting methods for inventory planning. This work compared two forecasting methods: Croston(CR) and the Teunter, Syntetos, and Babai's (TSB) methods. Furthermore, this work proposed a combination of Exponential and Poisson distribution and the use of average inter-demand interval combining with average demand to forecast lumpy demand. It assumed that amount of on-hand inventory would be equal to forecasting values. Mean square error (MSE) and number of shortage period were used as performance indicators of these methods. The simulation used 2 types of vital medicines, obtained from the community hospital in Mae Hong Son province from January 2015 to December 2017. The results from CR and TSB methods provided lower MSEs when the smoothing constants were unchanged until 12 weeks. Meanwhile, adjusting the smoothing constants every 4 weeks provided lower shortages. Meanwhile, the other two proposed methods led to lower shortages comparing with those of CR and TSB methods.

with the development of digital technology online payments can be made for various purposes. At present, the Indonesian tax directorate general has implemented an E-billing system that can be used by the public to make tax payments online. E-billing is available in the form of web-based and mobile applications in order to facilitate the public in making payments. However, in reality, there are still many people who prefer to use traditional methods of paying taxes. Initial allegations, these problems relate to web design factors, design applications, and website quality from the E-billing system. This paper examines the factors that relate to people's satisfaction with the decision to use the E-billing system. © 2018 IEEE.

Short communication – The first inventory of the nest placement of horseshoe crab (Tachypleus gigas) in Indonesia

Previous studies have reported that extant horseshoe crabs, including Atlantic and Asian horseshoe crab, spawned in intertidal zone during high tide season. Limited information about spawning nest of the horseshoe crab especially Tachypleus gigas in Indonesia has not been known yet. Moreover, according to the IUCN, the conservation status of T. gigas is still data deficient. During the fieldwork, we found the location that indicated as the spawning ground or nest placement of T. gigas. This is the first time when the spawning area of horseshoe crab is found in Subang, Indonesia. There were three clutches of eggs and the total number was 375-534 eggs in varying depth (5-20 cm) below the sand. The second observation in the same location on January 16, 2020, found a pair of T. gigas laying their eggs and the number was 244 eggs in varying depth (5-15 cm). The characteristics of nest placement of T. gigas that found in Subang was located on the small island in the middle of the sea. The island is an uninhabited island that has mangrove area and sandy substrate. Thus, based on what was found Burung island indicated as the spawning ground of coastal horseshoe crab (T. gigas).

It was not until 2016 that Taiwan has started to formulate the Youth Education and Employment Saving Accounts program. Applying Kingdon's (1984) multiple streams approach, the study firstly investigates the policy process of the program. The findings indicate that students usually entered universities right after school graduation without having a chance for self-exploration. And the reform of higher education has led to the dilution of university degrees. These became problem issues for the government. Incorporating different policy communities of administrative ministries, legislative divisions, schools and industries, the ruling party facilitated the program creation. Various projects and accompanying measures were drafted for the program. Playing the role of policy entrepreneur, the minister of education triggered the program. When the aforementioned streams of problem, politics and policy merged, the program thereafter was launched in 2017. Secondly, the study aimed to explore the program participation. Methods such as interviews and analysis of statistics, documents and literature, were employed. The study shows that the program applicants in the workplace did not reach the expected amount. Additionally, the magnitude of students entering the track of workplace was much greater than that of students choosing to continue education. It also revealed the inequalities of social classes. Finally, the implications of the study for the program evaluation and betterment were provided.

Cryptography is the science and art of maintaining the security of messages when messages are sent from one place to another. One of the ways securing the form of text message information is by the encryption process using the Vigenere Cipher algorithm and utilizing the One Time Pad (OTP) algorithm as a key generator, where the message will be random when it is opened. The message encryption process used the vigenere cipher algorithm while OTP is used to secure the key with the same formula. After this research has been done, an application was designed to secure text messages by converting the text message into a random message so that the message was unreadable due to a secret message that could not be known by others. The results achieved can secure an encrypted message that cannot be reopened and if those messages were reopened, they must be decrypted. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

As an export-oriented economy, Taiwan’s export income can be easily influenced by internal and international economic factors, including the industrial production index (IPI) and the exchange rate. With China being Taiwan’s largest recipient, Taiwan’s export income from China is extremely important to Taiwan’s economy. Therefore, this research investigates the nonlinear relationship between the IPI of Taiwan and Taiwan’s export income from China with the application of a panel smooth transition regression (PSTR) model. In addition, the currency exchange rate of RMB to NTD, which is the transfer variable, is used to examine the dynamic effect. The research period is monthly data ranging from January 2001 to February 2022. The empirical results show that the effect of the IPI of Taiwan on Taiwan’s export income with China is dynamic. Moreover, with the existence of a threshold value, its influence changes as the currency exchange rate of RMB to NTD varies over time. Finally, regardless of whether the currency exchange rate of RMB to NTD is above or below the threshold value, as the IPI of Taiwan increases, Taiwan’s export income from China also increases, differing only in the degree of increase.
