Electrical energy is one of the most important human needs. Almost all human work requires electrical energy. Lack of electricity may hinder human activities. Therefore, it is important to maintain the availability of the electrical energy. This paper explores a way to reduce waste of electricity use through the implementation of the Internet of things (IoT). We introduce an IoT system that expands the function of the internet that allows us to control household appliances properly and efficiently, enabling us to monitor the cost of usage every month. The proposed system is implemented at the Campus Academy computer Management and Informatics (AMKI) Ketapang to control and monitor lights in the computer Laboratory and Terrace Campus. This system utilizes Raspberry Pi 3, LDR sensors, Relays, and software like PHP and Raspbian Linux. The evaluation results have shown that the proposed IoT system has reduced the monthly cost of electricity. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Containerization has become a popular approach in application development in applications development and deployment, many benefits we can get such as improved scalability, portability, and resource efficiency. Container-based applications, utilizing technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, have transformed the packaging, deployment, and management of software from the desktop environment to the cloud platform. In this context, software metrics approach plays a good role in evaluating the characteristics and performance of container-based applications, ensuring that developers and operators are on the same page. This article explores the importance of software metrics in optimizing the software lifecycle of container-based applications, addressing the unique challenges they present, and highlighting the potential benefits of leveraging metrics to improve performance and efficiency. Our finding Performance Metrics and Availability Metrics is the most metrics that the most measure by applications owner, relevant studies and industry practices, this study aims to provide insights and recommendations to effectively measure and optimize region-based software systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The increasing amount of data that need to be processed in a company are affecting the performances of the database system. Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) is a commonly used database system, but also known to having a decreased performance when handling high amount of data. N oSQL is an alternative storage option that is different than RDBMS and known for faster performance when handling high amount of data. In this contribution, we compare the performances between RDBMS MySQL and a hybrid model of MySQL and NoSQL MongoDB when being used on a web application. We implemented a simple social media website to evaluate the performance of using different database models. The website is equipped with chat and profile view features. Experiments are performed using randomly generated user profiles and chat data. Based on our evaluations, the hybrid database of MySQL and MongoDB achieves higher read and write performances than the MySQL alone. Meanwhile MySQL can handle more sensitive data and maintaining data consistency. The hybrid model database MySQL and MongoDB uses less disk space than MySQL alone, but uses more RAM. We also observed that there is not much difference in CPU usage for both database models. © 2018 IEEE.

Currently, digital online music increase significantly, both in terms of content and users. Increasing the number of digital music content every month conduce a lot of song catalog data and becoming unstructured and making it difficult for users to choose the songs they want to listen to. To make it easier for users to optimize a large number of subscribed music catalogs, a user-centric music recommendation system is needed that allows users to be able to manage catalogs of digital music content according to their needs. This study examines how to implement song recommendation system using collaborative filtering method in digital online music. This study uses 20,000 users, 6,000 songs and 470,000 transactions rating. Through those research, it is discovered that user-based collaborative technique that could make one system for clients will gather those playlist they really want to hear. © 2019 Association for Computing Machinery

This study discusses the development of smart precision farming systems using big data and cloud-based intelligent decision support systems. Big data plays an important role in collecting, storing, and analyzing large amounts of data from various sources related to agriculture, including data from weather stations, soil sensors, satellite imagery, crop yield records, pest and disease reports, and other sources. This study highlights the differences between smart farming and precision farming. This study describes key techniques and system architecture, including data collection, processing, analysis, and decision support components. Utilizing a cloud platform enables scalability and optimized performance, which lowers costs and makes it safer and easier to manage. The integration of big data and Alibaba cloud computing in smart precision farming can improve farming productivity by providing timely information and recommendations to farmers for better decision-making. Finally, the system produces smart precision farming, which provides cost-effective real-Time monitoring and predictive analytics to increase agricultural production and sustainability. © 2023 IEEE.

Employee mobility is an important issue for companies that have a goal to become global company. The company often asks the employees to do some assignments outside the office area, either inside or outside of their home country. A portable virtual private network (VPN) is a device that enables the employees to perform remote access connection to internal computer resources via internet. Therefore, the employee can still work on their assignments in company server while doing business travelling. In this paper, the secure and low power portable VPN prototype is being proposed. The prototype of the VPN portable gateway device is built using OpenVPN-R core applications that are modified from OpenVPN version 2.3.10 with OpenSSL version 1.0.2h. It is implemented into a single board computer (SBC) Raspberry Pi 3 Model B +. The modification performed in this system is the inclusion of Rabbit stream cipher algorithm to OpenSSL as one of the alternative options of TLS ciphersuites on OpenVPN. The prototype portable VPN gateway device generated from this research has Rabbit ciphersuites, platform independent, and has additional features inbuilt firewall. The simulation results show that the proposed prototype can perform secure data transfer. On the other hand the proposed Rabbit stream cipher algorithm shows better performance than other algorithm in terms of data transfer rate, CPU utilization, and memory usage which leads to smaller power consumption. © 2018 The Authors. In this digitalization era, insurance companies have to face many new challenges, namely a very competitive market that has resulted in decreased margins and revenues and increased expectations from customers for insurance company services. Insurance companies are required to be fast-paced in providing accurate services and pricing. In addition, insurance companies must carry out marketing strategies that make customers feel valued so that strong engagement will arise. The focus of this research is on the field of marine cargo insurance, which is an insurance product that guarantees the loss of transportation of goods by sea. The purpose of this research is to analyze the underwriting and marketing processes in marine cargo business loss insurance and identify insurance models that can be smart and comprehensive solutions. The research method is to conduct a literature review to obtain previous problems and solutions related to this research topic. Then the researchers conducted observations and interviews with experts at an international insurance company in Jakarta. From this method, the main problems in this research are the underwriting process, product information services, and system recommendations that are less effective and efficient. This study proposes a smart insurance model concept by combining technological features, namely expert systems, chatbot, and recommend systems. It is hoped that this research will contribute to increasing underwriting and marketing productivity, as well as customer satisfaction in getting fast and appropriate product services. © 2021 IEEE.

This study investigates the performance of Vision Transformer (ViT) variants - the Shifted Window Transformers (SWIN), Distillation with No Labels (DINO), and Data-efficient Image Transformers (DeIT) - in image captioning tasks using the Flickr8K dataset. While ViT architectures have shown promise in image classification, their effectiveness for image captioning, particularly with smaller datasets, remains unclear. The models' performance was evaluated using BLEU metrics, while training efficiency was analyzed through Pareto front analysis of computational time and accuracy. Among the tested variants, SWIN Transformers demonstrated superior performance (BLEU-1: 64.4, BLEU-2: 33.9, BLEU-3: 17.1, BLEU-4: 8.4), followed by DINO (BLEU-1: 63.1, BLEU-2: 32.7, BLEU-3: 16.4, BLEU-4: 7.5), while DeIT showed the weakest performance (BLEU-1: 61.6, BLEU-2: 31.1, BLEU-3: 14.7, BLEU-4: 6.5). SWIN Transformers achieved the shortest training time at 3 minutes 31 seconds per epoch, making it the most efficient model among ViT variants based on Pareto front analysis. While ViT variants achieved competitive BLEU-1 scores comparable to previous top models, they struggled with generating coherent, longer sentences, as evidenced by suboptimal BLEU-4 scores. These findings provide empirical evidence of how the lack of inductive bias in transformer architectures affects their ability to capture complex scene relationships, despite their strong feature detection capabilities, contributing to the understanding of transformer models' limitations in vision-language tasks, especially with limited data. © 2024 IEEE.

The measurement of information security risk in a public sector organization is of utmost importance. This measurement serves the purpose of taking appropriate actions in response to potential risks or damaging incidents. The objective of this study is to develop a straightforward yet smart decision model capable of evaluating risks, particularly within the public sector organization. The decision support modelling (DSM) concept is employed as a framework to construct a computer model that supports decision-making in a specific case. The study comprises five stages, which are integral parts of the DSM process. These stages include analyzing the case, examining relevant documents, designing the model, constructing the model, and evaluating the finalized model. The object-oriented method serves as a fundamental approach to model design. Additionally, the fuzzy logic method, an intelligent computational technique, plays a central role in the development of this decision model. The proposed model demonstrates an average error value of 0.05 when compared to the actual risk measurement conducted. Furthermore, it reveals average risk values of 0.59 and 0.45 for the pre-and post-remediation scenarios, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

In big data era, data may be in the form of structured, unstructured and semi-structured. They become an asset for companies that contain important insights and support in decision-making processes. Big data is one of technologies that used by many organizations for managing store data and data analysis. Therefore, storage management is one of important processes in big data management to ensure that data are stored correctly, safely and easily to be accessed. Despite having many advantages, big data technology still has several issues on storage management, especially if we relate between big data and cloud computing, such as data security which is very important.
