In our current time, the well-being of a person is not only determined by the physical health, but also by their mental health. A lot of focus and effort have been spent into raising the awareness of this issue. One such effort comes from the field of computer science by utilizing data from social media to provide additional information in detecting these mental disorders. In this research, authors proposed the Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) with extractive summarization to preprocess data obtained from popular social media platform such as Reddit and Twitter. The proposed method evaluated by compare it to several other methods in text classification to Figure out which method is best classifying whether someone is depressed or not. This research also contributes to evaluate whether applying extractive summarization to a document prior to feeding the data into BERT will contribute to an increase in performance when compared to the current method of data preprocessing, by measuring the accuracy, precision, recall and F1-score of each model. The evaluation result found that our proposed method by applying extractive summarization to reduce the sequence length achieved a better result compared to BERT base model. © 2022 IEEE.

Predicting personality is a growing topic in the field of natural language processing. The study of personality prediction has been proven to benefit the development of recommender systems and automated personality assessments by previous studies. Additionally, the widespread usage of social media in Indonesia such as Twitter has served as a potential source of data for developing such models. Existing personality prediction models has explored the implementation of both traditional machine learning models and deep learning models, with the latter proven to perform better with more data. Despite so, there is not much development of deep learning-based personality prediction models in the domain of Indonesian text. We propose a deep learning-based ensemble model based on Universal Language Model Fine Tuning (ULMFiT) and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT), the state-of-the-art pre-trained models for text classification. The model is trained with Indonesian tweets labelled with Five Factor Model (FFM) personality traits along with the users' metadata. The model is tested with five predetermined scenarios to prove the robustness of its performance. The final evaluation of the model proves that it has successfully achieved optimal performance of 76.41 % macro-average accuracy and 75.55% macro-average F-1 score, exceeding the state-of-the-art BERT and ULMFiT © 2022 IEEE.

In the high-performance computing domain, Field programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is a novel accelerator that exhibits high flexibility and performance characteristics distinct from other accelerators such as the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Recent advanced high-end FPGA is equipped with multiple channels of high speed optical link up to 100Gbps performance for each. This is a crucial feature when we construct PC clusters with FPGAs as accelerators, however it is not easy to utilize from user kernels because this feature is implemented in low level and simple direct communication between neighboring FPGAs. In order to provide the communication feature between FPGAs for accelerated PC clusters, we developed a communication system named CIRCUS which implies a user-friendly API from OpenCL and is equipped with routing function over multi-hop communication on multi-dimensional torus network of FPGAs. However, current CIRCUS only provides a point-to-point communication between source and destination FPGAs. In ordinary parallel processing environment such as MPI, the user program the message passing with various collective communication functions for parallel algorithm, for instance Allreduce, Allgather, etc. In this paper, we implement the collective communication function over CIRCUS for user-friendly programming of ordinary parallel algorithms on FPGAs. As the first target, we implement Allreduce function which is the most essential and important function. The paper describes the CIRCUS system briefly followed by the design, implementation and preliminary performance evaluation on Intel Stratix10 FPGAs. © 2023 ACM.

In a music scenario, both auditory and visual elements are essential to achieve an outstanding performance. Recent research has focused on the generation of body movements or fingering from audio in music performance. The audio-driven face generation technique in music performance is still deficient. In this paper, we compile a violin soundtrack and facial expression dataset (VSFE) for modeling facial expressions in violin performance. To our knowledge, this is the first dataset mapping the relationship between violin performance audio and musicians' facial expressions. We then propose a 3DCNN network with self-attention and residual blocks for audio-driven facial expression generation. In the experiments, we compare our methods with three baselines on talking face generation. The codes and dataset are available on the Github (https://***/kevinlin91/icassp-music2face). © 2023 IEEE.

This research explores multiple varieties of effective and child-friendly learning approaches for mathematics and memorization among young children in today's increasingly digital age considering their specific developmental needs. This type of approach includes in-person teaching, engaging online videos, interactive textbooks, and innovative educational games. This research employs a detailed comparative analysis, considering both ‘User Experience’ and measurable learning outcome factors, and spans a range of age groups from preschoolers to elementary school children. Through highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each method, this research aims to inspire the adoption of efficient, child-centric, and novel teaching techniques by educators and institutions, thereby advancing the quality of education in Indonesia. The results show that using serious game in education presents high usefulness score alongside positive user experience, suggesting its viability for educational purposes.

LoRa's biggest advantage is its flexibility, which is the ability to increase or decrease data rate and range while decreasing or increasing sensitivity. Whenever propagation conditions change frequently, this function allows the spreading factor to be modified accordingly. Despite their efficiency and scalability, adaptive data rate algorithms ignore and fail to factor in the complex correlation between ambient weather parameters influencing the communication channel design. In this research, a Bayesian surrogate Gaussian process-based bidirectional LSTM stacked autoencoder model (BSGP-BLSTM-SAE) is proposed to estimate the channel performance indicators such as received signal strength indicator (RSSI) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and to determine the correlation between the ambient weather conditions and performance indicators for the LoRaWAN network. Bayesian optimization algorithm has been used to optimize the hyper-parameters of the developed model. A LoRaWAN experimental multivariate time series dataset has been used for the evaluation of the developed model, which upon testing and validation produces high accuracy in predicting the channel performance indicators and ambient conditions of the experimental LoRaWAN network. The mean absolute error of the developed model was around 0.45. Thus, the proposed model can predict the link performance indicators and thereby assist in real-time optimization of the transmission parameters to enhance the network performance in LoRaWAN-based systems at different ambient conditions. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

The use of the Internet of Things (IoT) has been widely adopted for a lot of purposes. Business process automation is one type of implementation that has been carried out. In addition, the data successfully captured by the IoT ecosystem can be utilized for various computer modeling needs, including the decision model construction in assessing room quality. The decision model itself is a computer model supporting the decision maker in decision making process. This research, via four simple research stages, aims to develop an IoT-based decision model to evaluate room quality based on two parameters: temperature and humidity. The design of the IoT environment and the implementation of temperature and humidity data readings in a room are used as input data for a decision model to assess the comfort level of the room. In this study, the primary method used to design the model is object-oriented, while fuzzy logic is employed to build the model. The developed decision model can simulate data captured from the designed IoT ecosystem, successfully assessing the comfort level of a room. From the simulation results using 18 data points (from 9 days of data capturing) captured by temperature and humidity sensors, the average comfort level of the room was found to be 19.7873.

The advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), notably in Natural Language Processing (NLP), has been remarkable. Among its applications, Question-Answering (QA) systems stand out, assisting users in accessing pertinent information across various topics, including religious contexts. Religion plays a significant role in providing guidance on moral values to modern society, such as tolerance, compassion and social norms. Religious practices taught by religion serve as significant foundations for addressing the increasingly advancing influence of technology. The primary goal of this paper is to create a question-answering system proficient in analyzing user inquiries and precisely extracting data from translated Indonesian Hadith datasets. This research endeavors to enhance question-answering accuracy through Deep Learning techniques. Employing pre-processing methods, the system interprets user query intents. Furthermore, the Text-to-Text Transfer Transformer (T5), a text-based language Transformer model, is utilized to streamline the retrieval process for Hadith-related queries based on relevant subjects. The research findings demonstrate the precision of answers through BLEU and ROUGE scores. The novelty of this study lies in the creation of a dataset of hadith translations in Indonesian and the fine-tuning of the T5 model that has been trained using a dataset of questions and answers based on these translations. This research demonstrates the following evaluation scores: BLEU: 0.606, ROUGE-1: 0.702, ROUGE-2: 0.548, and ROUGE-L: 0.701, indicating that the answers generated by this particular research model are better compared to those produced using the standard mT5 model.

Algorithm development on skin diseases identification with high cardinality classification is still very challenging. In addition, the high similarity appearance among diseases makes the computer vision approach meet high difficulties on providing clear distinct feature representation. In general, some literature shows that the performance of single machine learning or single deep learning techniques can be further improved when merged by ensemble mechanism. This approach has been applied on binary skin's cancer diseases diagnosis prediction and successfully improve the prediction ability. This paper elaborates the potential of ensemble machine learning approaches using stacking techniques on conducting feature extraction and classification model for identifying more general skin diseases based on dermoscopy images and mobile phone images. The proposed model combines three different CNN architectures, ResNet50, Xception, and VGG16 to extract features from the image then stacked as input for the model trained using five different algorithms, which are logistic regression, support vector machines, multi-layer perceptron, k-nearest neighbors, random forests and the combination of these algorithm in stacking classifier as the base estimators and final estimator. The simulation results present the proposed ensemble - stacking model succeeds to improve the identification ability in all utilized datasets. In addition, the proposed ensemble - stacking models show better recall which indicates good sensitivity on handling false negative. It is beneficial for medical application. © 2024 IEEE.

As the dengue infection still impacts hundreds of millions of people globally, unprecedented efforts in dengue drug development have been more progressive in recent decades. Computational methods provide a fast, sustainable, and efficient screening of active compounds and newly created drug molecules, including those specifically targeting nonstructural proteins (NS) of dengue viruses. In this work, protein modeling for the NS proteins of DENV-2/16681 strain was performed using a template-based homology modeling for the NS3 protein and an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based prediction via AlphaFold for the NS4B protein. Moreover, the protein-protein interaction between the two structures was predicted using the HADDOCK server, which employs information about active and passive residues of the interaction interface to guide the docking process. After the modeling and its respective refinement process, the predicted structures of NS3 and NS4B improved their steric clashing scoring from MolProbity assessment. The refined models were then docked, and the resulting docking pose was analyzed to extract the interacting residues based on the polar contacts within the interface of the two proteins. Our result presents a preliminary study to create a dataset related to in silico molecular interactions of the NS3-NS4B interaction of different DENV types. It is helpful for building a computational pipeline for elucidating protein-ligand problems in dengue drug screenings. © 2024 The Authors.
