The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) classification is a widely utilized instrument for personality assessment. However, it frequently encounters challenges due to imbalanced data distributions across personality dimensions. It is paramount to address this issue to enhance the accuracy and reliability of personality predictions. Most current research in this field is focused on data balancing techniques, such as oversampling and undersampling, which have been demonstrated to enhance model performance. Nevertheless, there is a dearth of research exploring text augmentation methods, particularly synonym replacement, for this purpose. This study examines the efficacy of synonym replacement as a data augmentation technique for MBTI classification. Experiments are conducted with varying levels of synonym replacement (10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%) to assess its impact on model accuracy and F1 scores across the four MBTI dimensions. Our findings indicate that low levels of synonym replacement, particularly at 10% to 50%, can enhance the performance of the model in predicting MBTI dimensions. On the other hand, a higher number of replaced words in the synonym replacement augmentation can harm the model's performance. These observations suggest that synonym replacement can effectively address data imbalance in MBTI classification, although its application must be tailored to specific personality dimensions.

This paper investigates recent advancements and methodologies in Automatic Text Summarization, a field that has garnered significant attention for its ability to condense lengthy documents into concise summaries while preserving key information and themes. The study examines the development of Automatic Text Summarization models, including both extractive and abstractive approaches. Additionally, the research delves into the use of graph convolutional networks for text representation in e-commerce product review summarization. The study employs an e-commerce dataset in conjunction with a graph convolutional network model, covering stages from preprocessing and tokenization to constructing graph-based data representation. The expected outcome is a graph-structured representation of input text data derived from Indonesian-language e-commerce product reviews.

A Hybrid Inference Engine to Predict Uncertain Sugar Content for Sugar Industry

The sugar industry is facing challenges in increasing productivity to meet consumer demand. One opportunity for productivity improvement lies in ensuring sugar content. This study proposes a hybrid model to predict sugar content by considering uncertainty factors. A hybrid model combining fuzzy subtractive clustering, and a fuzzy inference system is proposed to predict sugar content. The clustering results using silhouette and fuzzy subtractive clustering successfully identified 6 cluster centres from 2225 datasets collected in a sugar industry in East Java Province. The hybrid inference engine model is designed with fuzzy rules derived from the clustered data. Two inference models are developed: triangular and Gaussian fuzzy numbers. The testing results indicate that the hybrid model with triangular fuzzy numbers shows the smallest error with an R2 value of 0.95. This model is possible to applied in the sugar industry for decision makers in improving productivity with taking attention into uncertain factors influencing sugar content.

The development of research in the field of image generation can now be one of the tools to introduce a country's artistic culture. Indonesia is known as one of the countries with cultural diversity. Batik is one of Indonesia's most iconic cultural arts. GAN studies on batik have produced good images but still have a long training process. Several GAN techniques have been developed to create synthetic batik, one of the pioneering ones is BATIK-GAN which proposes a double flow model. Several GAN techniques have been developed to create good images, one of the best known and most widely used as a model is DCGAN due to its lightweight training and ability to produce good synthetic images. In this research we propose the Light Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Network model with Gradient penalty (LWGAN-GP) to be able to generate batik motif images. This model is proposed to produce a model that can perform a faster training process but can still produce good images. The experimental results of LWGAN-GP compared with DCGAN show that the computation time of DCGAN is faster than that of LWGAN-GP but LWGAN-GP is superior to the variety of images produced and is able to remain stable (without collapse mode).

The existence of fine-grained image classification supporting smart retail provides effectiveness in recognizing products with high similarity. However, the generic classification method performs poorly in identifying products from a subordinate category. This paper aims to identify augmentation techniques to leverage the Vision Transformer (ViT) model to classify the fine-grained grocery product, which involves embedding patches and transformer encoders to extract the main features. First, we develop a fine-grained image dataset with ColorJitter, CutOut, and combining both augmentations. Secondly, we perform experiments and analysis of ViT size, embedded patch size and image size in the patch embedding process. Lastly, the ViT model are evaluated according to the image sizes 224, 384, and 512 in accuracy, loss, and confusion matrix. The highest accuracy was obtained at 0.9922. The ColorJitter and CutOut improved the confusion matrix in ViT-B/16 and ViT-L/16 with an image size of 384 and 512. The results show that both augmentations in the ViT model are able to distinguish fine-grained grocery products. © 2023 IEEE.

In life, various challenges and problems faced by deaf people such as communication skills and other problems, including emotional, mental, and societal development. However, technology is needed that can help the process. This Smart Application try to build communication between the deaf to share thoughts in group chats, including getting information about the deaf, so that the communication learning process for the deaf becomes easier. The proposed model is using Unified Modeling Languages (UML) diagrams, such as case diagrams for the current proposed idea process and class diagrams for relational tables or database stores. In addition, the User interface (UI) is implemented in this research work, Personal Home Pages (PHP) as a web server programming and MySQL database as an open-source database. © 2023 IEEE.

Domain data can be shifted in any direction so it will be shared in different distributions to its original domain. This could be a problem since the model was trained with different distributions. It is found that adversarial domain adaptation using domain adversarial neural networks (DANN) can help to solve this problem on some scale. DANN can minimize the discrepancy between source and target data so the model can work well in both domains. The experiment is done by utilizing MNIST dataset that shifted into some conditions. In a condition when the shifting of distribution is too far, DANN is struggling to maintain the knowledge extracted from source data which leads to underperformance in the source and target domain. In contrast, when the shifting is closer, DANN can easily fit the model so it can perform well in both domains. It proves DANN is one of the good approaches to performing domain adaptation in small discrepancies. © 2023 IEEE.

Courier services are a means of transport that can be used to deliver orders to customers or claim orders from them, and customers can use technology from the courier service like track order to track their order. The use of courier service nowadays is common that every day, people use courier service as their daily means of transport for delivering goods. However, in situations like pandemic, the courier services need to put more effort into their services, so that customers can use courier services with trust. The courier service must be more careful to deliver customer orders or send orders to customers. For this research methodology, the data collection technique using Google Forms and collecting data directly from people about their opinion toward the research have been employed. The result of the data collecting technique is depicted as the usage of the courier service during COVID-19 pandemic starting from March 2020. The results vary every month because not everyone uses the courier service every day. Moreover, the conclusion on why the months starting from March to June do not show high usage of courier service is that the pandemic has not been that worse than the later months, and so, people were going out to deliver or to do activities like shopping or buying groceries on their own. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper presents an integrated solution for 3D object detection, recognition, and presentation to increase accessibility for various user groups in indoor areas through a mobile application. The system has three major components: a 3D object detection module, an object tracking and update module, and a voice and AR-enhanced interface. The 3D object detection module consists of pre-trained 2D object detectors and 3D bounding box estimation methods to detect the 3D poses and sizes of the objects in each camera frame. This module can easily adapt to various 2D object detectors (e.g., YOLO, SSD, mask RCNN) based on the requested task and requirements of the run time and details for the 3D detection result. It can run on a cloud server or mobile application. The object tracking and update module minimizes the computational power for long-term environment scanning by converting 2D tracking results into 3D results. The voice and AR-enhanced interface integrates ARKit and SiriKit to provide voice interaction and AR visualization to improve information delivery for different user groups. The system can be integrated with existing applications, especially assistive navigation, to increase travel safety for people who are blind or have low vision and improve social interaction for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. In addition, it can potentially be used for 3D reconstruction of the environment for other applications. Data selection can be used in conjunction with adaptive filtering algorithms to avoid unnecessary weight updating and thereby reduce computational overhead. This paper presents a novel correntropy-based data selection method as an alternative to conventional data selection mechanisms based on squared error values. We developed a variable correntropy sensing algorithm to maximize the instantaneous correntropy function for the Gaussian kernel function to mitigate the impact of impulse noise and other forms of noise that can be disregarded in data selection. The proposed data selection mechanism can be implemented with any adaptive filtering algorithm. In simulations, the proposed method (implemented with the least mean squared algorithm) outperformed comparable error-based data selection schemes in terms of hit rate and miss rate, and the resulting weight updating ratio was close to the expected weight updating ratio. © 2023 IEEE.
