Ancestry estimation is one crucial stage in genomic research. It generates scores that represent the admixed genetics profile as the result of human evolution. In the previous research, we implemented multiple unsupervised methods to estimate these scores from large genomics data obtained from the 1000 Genome Project. These methods were limited to only cluster the samples to the five global populations in the dataset. The main challenge arose when implementing these methods to cluster the samples into more specific subpopulations. In this paper, we proposed a supervised approach to answer this challenge. Two state-of-the-art supervised machine learning methods, XGBoost and Deep Neural Network (DNN), were applied to the same dataset. These methods were aimed to classify samples, both into five main populations and also into 26 sub-populations. In the first classification task, both methods achieved similar results to our previous unsupervised approach. Interestingly, for the second classification task, which posses a relatively higher difficulty, DNN yielded better performance in the train, validation, and test dataset, despite its overfitting problem. Furthermore, the feature importance scores from each model were calculated using Shapley Additive Explanations (SHAP) method. Finally, 11 overlapped SNPs from all models were evaluated based on the reported Minor Allele Frequency (MAF) from the 1000 Genome Project. Overall, only using these 11 SNPs, we could differentiate each population in regards to its average MAF. © 2021 IEEE.

Microblogs generate a vast amount of data in which users express their emotions regarding almost all aspects of everyday life. Capturing affective content from these context-dependent and subjective texts is a challenging task. We propose an intelligent probabilistic model for textual emotion recognition in multidimensional space (TERMS) that captures the subjective emotional boundaries and contextual information embedded in a text for robust emotion recognition. It is implausible with discrete label assignment;therefore, the model employs a soft assignment by mapping varying emotional perceptions in a multidimensional space and generates them as distributions via the Gaussian mixture model (GMM). To strengthen emotion distributions, TERMS integrates a probabilistic emotion classifier that captures the contextual and linguistic information from texts. The integration of these aspects, the context-aware emotion classifier and the learned GMM parameters provide a complete coverage for accurate emotion recognition. The large-scale experimentation shows that compared to baseline and state-of-the-art models, TERMS achieved better performance in terms of distinguishability, prediction, and classification performance. Hate speech is one of the most challenging problem internet is facing today. With increasing numbers of users online, hate speech also rise and takes time to be classified manually particularly in languages other than English. This research examines hate speech detection problem in form of Bahasa Indonesia. Millions of comments and text posts are added to various social media and discussion platforms. Manual classification in all of the internet as hate speech and offensive language is a near impossible and time-consuming task. This research uses Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Bidirectional Long Short Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) for the method of classifying hate speech and abusive language. The final accuracy is 88,44% by using 200 neurons with Bi-LSTM method. Most common challenges are different languages, out of vocabulary words, long range dependencies, and sarcasm. © 2021 11th International Workshop on computer science and Engineering, WCSE 2021. Information engineering strategies play a significant and transformative role in shaping the landscape of digital agriculture. It drives innovation and efficiency in modern farming practices, with a specific focus on enhancing the value of agricultural commodities, such as sugarcane. The application of mobile technology plays a crucial part in achieving increased sugarcane productivity. Mobile applications, equipped with advanced developer features, offer rapid and user-friendly access to vital information. Traditional methods of estimating sugarcane production relied on manual data recording on paper, followed by data transfer to computer systems, typically managed by sugar factory junior plant officers. This conventional approach presents several inherent weaknesses, including time and effort intensiveness during data recording and entry. Additionally, the potential for errors in calculation and data input is a concern. The storage capacity for paper-based documents is finite, and farmers are often unable to autonomously assess their production potential. The objective of this research is to confront these obstacles by creating a sugarcane production application for Android. This application functions as an information engineering approach focused on forecasting sugarcane yields for plantation owners and their assistants. The development procedure adhered to the systematic waterfall method, following the principles of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model. Data collection was carried out through observations, while interviews with junior plant officers provided valuable insights into sugarcane estimation techniques. Analysis involved the synthesis of observational and interview data to inform the design of the application's interface and algorithmic system. Car spare parts are parts of a car that consist of components that form a certain unity and function, there are some parts that are damaged more often and therefore must be replaced more often. In this research, to predict the availability of spare parts using the times series moving average prediction method with random forest. The dataset used in this research is 19,068 consisting of location, transaction number, transaction date, part number, quantity and odo-km. Distribution of spare parts classified based on recapitulation of spare part distribution is RAE=54.5541% and RSE=63.8888%, distribution of spare parts based on location is RAE=55.5541% and RSE=65.2118%, maintenance based on ODO-KM is RAE=33.0949% and RSE=41.2241 % and distribution quantity RAE=33.749% and RSE=36.2317%. The results of spare part distribution analysis using the Confusion Matrix with probability accuracy are TP Rate=0.903, FP Rate=0.067, Precision=0.911, Recall=0.903, F-Measure=0.893, MCC=0.857, ROC Area=0.983 and PRC Area=0.948. The aim of this research is to determine the factors needed to build a machine learning-based spare parts distribution model, implementation, measurement and prediction in the automotive industry in Indonesia.

In recent years, making computers understand the emotions of users is necessary because emotions are an important factor in human communication. Among many methods of recognizing emotions, EEG is widely used because it has high temporal resolution and it is impossible to disguise intentionally. However, it is necessary to acquire new user data and construct the personal Emotion recognition model since EEG varies widely among individuals. The conventional methods lack practicality because it builds a different model for every new user data. Our method builds a model in a single training using new user data. To reduce the number of new user data for training and to relieve the burden of EEG measurement, we adapt existing user data. We absorb the individual differences in EEG between a new user and existing users by domain adaptation using a small number of new user data and construct a model by deep neural networks. From the experiments, we confirmed that the proposed method performs as well as the conventional methods, even though it is built with single training using new user data. © 2022 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

The advancement and application of information technology have provided significant benefits to society. Complete and quality information is needed to achieve efficiency and make it easier for people to find the right and trusted vacation partner. One way that can be done is to create an information system to find vacation companions or travel companions to travel to the same destination at the same time. This study aims to design and build a mobile application. Travemate is a mobile application that helps travelers find the right and trustworthy friends or partners to travel to the same destination. The development of this information system is expected to help the community, especially solo travelers, reduce the time spent looking for the right partner or traveler who meets their criteria. This application is built using a mobile apps platform that can be installed on devices connected to the internet via smartphones and also with the features available on travemate to facilitate and optimize user activities in finding partners for their travels so that with this application, all activities will be easy, fun, and efficient. In the long term, the application programs we create can touch people all over the world, making it easier for people to find friends to travel with. © 2022 IEEE.

Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a pivotal genetic marker influencing the efficacy of immunotherapy in colorectal cancer. Traditional MSI examination often requires additional genetic or immunohistochemical tests, whereas histology images, widely available in colorectal cancer diagnosis, offer a valuable alternative for MSI prediction. Although Transformer-based models have demonstrated promising outcomes in predicting MSI from histology images, they are hampered by traditional local attention mechanisms that struggle to capture long-range interdependencies and establish a comprehensive global receptive field. In this study, we introduce DiNAT-MSI, a novel framework for histology-based MSI prediction that incorporates the Dilated Neighborhood Attention Transformer (DiNAT). This model enhances global context recognition and substantially expands receptive fields, all without additional computational burden. Our results demonstrate that DiNAT-MSI achieves a superior patientwise AUROC compared to ResNet18 and Swin Transformer, along with commendable explainability. Our work not only illustrates a more accessible diagnostic tool for leveraging histological data but also underscores the potential of Transformerbased models with sophisticated attention designs in advancing precision medicine for colorectal cancer patients. © 2024 IEEE.

Over the last decades, there has been growing interest in research in multiple and interdisciplinary fields of human-AI computing. In particular, approaches integrating the intersecting design with reinforcement learning (RL) have received more attention. However, the current research on RL may need to consider its enhancement from a humaninspired approach further. In the present work, we focus on enabling a meta-reinforcement learning (meta-RL) agent to achieve adaptation and generalization according to modeling Markov decision processes using Bayesian knowledge and analysis. By introducing a novel framework called human-inspired meta-RL (HMRL), we incorporate the agent performing resilient actions to leverage the dynamic dense reward based on the knowledge and prediction of a Bayesian analysis. The proposed framework can make the agent learn generalization and prevent the agent from failing catastrophically. The experimental results show that our approach helps the agent reduce computational costs with learning adaptation. Finally, we conclude and anticipate that integrating human-inspired meta-RL can enable learning more formulations relating to robustness and scalability, leading to promising directions and more complex AI goals in the future. © 2023 IEEE.

In this research, the author addresses the prevalent issues faced by users of cloud services, especially those using Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology, such as connection losses, security concerns, and poor video quality. The study does not delve into the complex problems at the data center level but instead proposes a novel Design science Research approach. This new method, tested with five clients in varied locations, utilizes port forwarding to establish a direct server-client connection, bypassing traditional P2P frameworks. The results show that this approach significantly improves quality over the P2P system. Feedback from clients before and after the experiment indicates a positive response to this new method. This research offers insights into overcoming P2P-related issues in cloud services and contributes to the development of cloud-based server science, presenting a cost-effective, independent alternative to data center-dependent P2P services, with plans for ongoing research in this area.
