Sex steroid hormones such as progesterone play a pivotal role in reproductive functions and maintaining pregnancy;however, the impact of progesterone on the interaction between mother and embryo is unclear. Here, we demonstrate that the relationship between maternal progesterone and membrane progesterone receptor epsilon (mPRΕ) in adipose tissue regulates embryonic nutritional environment and growth after birth in mice. The activation of adipose mPRΕ by increased progesterone during pregnancy enhanced maternal insulin resistance through the production of prostaglandins, thereby efficiently providing glucose to embryos. The offspring of mPRΕ-deficient mothers exhibited metabolic dysfunction, whereas mPRΕ-deficient mothers with high-fat-diet-induced obesity exhibited improved insulin sensitivity. These findings establish the importance of progesterone as a nutritional regulator between mother and embryo, and suggest that mPRΕ modulators could be developed to treat pregnant glycemic control disorders such as gestational diabetes mellitus, as well as metabolic syndrome in offspring. © 2024, The Authors. Real-time acquisition of human pulse signals in daily life is clinically important for cardiovascular disease monitoring and ***,we propose a smart photonic wristband for pulse signal monitoring based on speckle pattern analysis with a polymer optical fiber(POF)integrated into a sports *** different speckle pattern processing algorithms and POFs with different core diameters were *** results indicated that the smart photonic wristband had a high signal-to-noise ratio and low latency,with the measurement error controlled at approximately 3.7%.This optimized pulse signal could be used for further medical diagnosis and was capable of objectively monitoring subtle pulse signal changes,such as the pulse waveform at different positions of Cunkou and pulse waveforms before and after *** the assistance of artificial intelligence(AI),functions such as gesture recognition have been realized through the established prediction model by processing pulse signals,in which the recognition accuracy reaches 95%.Our AI-assisted smart photonic wristband has potential applications for clinical treatment of cardiovascular diseases and home monitoring,paving the way for medical Internet of Things-enabled smart systems.

Quantum tunneling phenomenon allows a high-barrier reaction to occur even though thermal energy is not sufficient to surmount the barrier. The phenomenon has been suggested to exist in the isomerization of methylhydroxycarbene which occured at 11 K. Here we study the quantum tunneling that occured in the isomerization of methylhydroxycarbene to acetaldehyde and to vinyl alcohol based on density functional calculations. The isomerization pathways are determined under the effect of various solvents which are modeled by polarizable continuum model (PCM). We use Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation to calculate the tunneling probability (T) and extend the usefulness of T into isomerization rate. The results show that the solvents give a significant effect on the isomerization rate of methylhydroxycarbene to acetaldehyde but an insignificant one on the isomerization rate to vinyl alcohol. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd. With the advancement of technology, people constantly use IT through the Internet. In this modern living environment, many individuals exploit this technological landscape for illegal gains and criminal activities. Judicial investigation units gather relevant evidence from the crime scene and process it when a crime occurs. When the medium used in criminal activity involves information technology, it is referred to as digital evidence. Unlike traditional evidence, which leaves traces if moved or altered, digital evidence can be copied without any detectable changes, posing challenges to maintaining its integrity and accuracy. This article explores how digital identification can ensure that the content of a report matches the evidence seized at the scene. It also addresses how the validity of digital evidence, as presented by the investigating authority, can be upheld in court. Additionally, it discusses the use of digital evidence and electronic handwritten signatures to enhance evidence preservation measures.

Gurame Soang Latin name Osphronomus Labirynthici gouramy including fish, that as the fish have gills and breathing apparatus in the form of additional gills (Labyrinth). One important factor in fish farming Soang Gurame is holding elections. Superior brood has characteristics identical, to distinguish it needs to experience since it is quite difficult. Some of the assessment factors in selecting a superior brood that could be considered in the cultivation of the fish farmers Gurame Soang as ideal weight, physical disability, movement of fish, the shape of the head, and the body color. All of these factors combined to get an assessment that could help the decision making process fish Gurame Soang superior sires. This study used two methods that have selected the calculation accuracy of the decision-making process. The method used is the Weighted Product and Simple Additive weighting. The results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded the total number of alternative Gurame Soang superior sires data as many as 10 fish, and obtained the results of testing the level of accuracy by using the results of data from a breeder Gurame Soang superior sires, Method of Weighted Product got an accuracy of 80% and methods Simple Additive weighting got an accuracy of 60%. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2019.

We report high-quality single-crystal growth, x-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility [χ(T,H)], magnetization [M(H)], heat capacity [CP(T,H)], electrical resistivity [ρ(T,H)], and electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements of GdAsSe as functions of temperature and magnetic field. We identify an antiferromagnetic phase transition at TN∼11.9±0.2 K and construct magnetic phase diagrams for H||ab and H||c axes based on the χ(T,H) and CP(T,H) data. Isothermal M(H) curves along the H||ab direction at 3 K exhibit a field-induced spin orientation at HC∼3.78T. Both M(H) and χ(T,H) indicate an easy-plane-type anisotropy. The Curie-Weiss analysis of the high-temperature paramagnetic χ(T) yields a negative Weiss temperature, suggesting dominant antiferromagnetic interactions between the Gd ions. Magnetic entropy reaches 83% of R ln8 at TN. The presence of residual entropy above TN and the persistence of ESR critical broadening up to ∼3TN alludes to a degree of magnetic frustration in the studied material. The ρ(T) data above TN is well fitted to the Bloch-Grüneisen theory for metals. Further, density functional theory calculations reveal an antiferromagnetic ground state where the Gd atoms are coupled ferromagnetically in the ab plane and antiferromagnetically along the c axis.

Semantic communication technologies enable wireless edge devices to communicate effectively by transmitting semantic meaning of data. Edge components, such as vehicles in next-generation intelligent transport systems, use well-trained semantic models to encode and decode semantic information extracted from raw and sensor data. However, the limitation in computing resources makes it difficult to support the training process of accurate semantic models on edge devices. As such, edge devices can buy the pretrained semantic models from semantic model providers, which is called "semantic model trading". Upon collecting semantic information with the semantic models, the edge devices can then sell the extracted semantic information, e.g., information about urban road conditions or traffic signs, to the interested buyers for profit, which is called "semantic information trading". To facilitate both types of the trades, effective incentive mechanisms should be designed. Thus, in this paper, we propose a hierarchical trading system to support both semantic model trading and semantic information trading jointly. The proposed incentive mechanism helps to maximize the revenue of semantic model providers in the semantic model trading, and effectively incentivizes model providers to participate in the development of semantic communication systems. For semantic information trading, our designed auction approach can support the trading between multiple semantic information sellers and buyers, while ensuring individual rationality, incentive compatibility, and budget balance, and moreover, allowing them achieve higher utilities than the baseline method. Because of the learning behaviors of learners include multiple characteristics and tendencies and the behaviors with complex and tangled associations, in this study, ISM with Fuzzy MICMAC and Fuzzy DEMATEL methods (approach) were applied. Analyze and discuss the dimensions and criteria of applying information technology to assist music teaching to influence learners' learning behaviors and to clarify the relationship between learning behaviors and to provide educational institutions and schools to introduce or improve the integration of information technology into music teaching of the teaching strategies and curriculum design and planning to trigger learners' learning behavior. Studies show that in terms of dimension, the integration of information technology into music teaching will motivate learners in areas such as online learning attitudes, music learning motivation, and learning engagement, and self-directed learning. The self-directed learning factor is an important key to the dimension of learning behavior;among these criterions, online teaching of musical performance, musical instrument teaching, and music theory will influence about 23 criteria of the learners' learning behavior, and computer/smart-phone preferences, online learning, computer/smart-phone, and computer and network confidence are the three keys to learning behavior criterion, therefore, in addition to establishing a good music teaching environment, strengthening learners' self-directed learning and online learning attitudes are important learning guidelines. © 2020 ACM.

Nonlinear spectral mapping-based models based on supervised learning have successfully applied for speech enhancement. However, as supervised learning approaches, a large amount of labelled data (noisy-clean speech pairs) should be provided to train those models. In addition, their performances for unseen noisy conditions are not guaranteed, which is a common weak point of supervised learning approaches. In this study, we proposed an unsupervised learning approach for speech enhancement, i.e., denoising autoencoder with linear regression decoder (DAELD) model for speech enhancement. The DAELD is trained with noisy speech as both input and target output in a self-supervised learning manner. In addition, with properly setting a shrinkage threshold for internal hidden representations, noise could be removed during the reconstruction from the hidden representations via the linear regression decoder. Speech enhancement experiments were carried out to test the proposed model. Results confirmed that the proposed DAELD could achieve comparable and sometimes even better enhancement performance as compared to the conventional supervised speech enhancement approaches, in both seen and unseen noise environments. Moreover, we observe that higher performances tend to achieve by DAELD when the training data cover more diverse noise types and signal-tonoise-ratio (SNR) levels.

Patient-specific left ventricle (LV) myocardial models have the potential to be used in a variety of clinical scenarios for improved diagnosis and treatment plans. Cine cardiac magnetic resonance (MR) imaging provides high resolution images to reconstruct patient-specific geometric models of the LV myocardium. With the advent of deep learning, accurate segmentation of cardiac chambers from cine cardiac MR images and unsupervised learning for image registration for cardiac motion estimation on a large number of image datasets is attainable. Here, we propose a deep leaning-based framework for the development of patient-specific geometric models of LV myocardium from cine cardiac MR images, using the Automated Cardiac Diagnosis Challenge (ACDC) dataset. We use the deformation field estimated from the VoxelMorph-based convolutional neural network (CNN) to propagate the isosurface mesh and volume mesh of the end-diastole (ED) frame to the subsequent frames of the cardiac cycle. We assess the CNN-based propagated models against segmented models at each cardiac phase, as well as models propagated using another traditional nonrigid image registration technique. © 2021, CC BY.
