We solve the bonding pressure non-uniformity by the distribution of bump allocation for superconducting device. Resistance measurements at room temperature showed that the devised pattern had 5% lower resistance in the central chain. In both patterns, a superconducting current of more than 20 mA flowed at temperatures below 4.2 K. © 2024 IEEE.

Complex Emotion Estimation Using Analysis-by-Synthesis of Facial Expression Images

This research proposes an approach for recognizing facial expressions for complex emotion estimation through the utilization of generated facial images. The proposed approach consists of two main parts: facial image generation and facial expression recognition. In the first part, we introduce Conditioned Emotion Generative Adversarial Networks (cEmoGANs) to synthesize images that convey complex facial expressions. Unlike previous methods, our generative model maintains face identity information and expresses various types of complex emotions. This capability encourages the generator to have control over the image generation process, resulting in enhanced image quality, reduced distortion, and increased diversity of generated images. The second part involves the design of a multiple-label classification based on a convolutional neural network trained on the complex facial expression images generated from the first part, which is employed in the recognition of complex facial expressions for emotion estimation. Our model, using images generated by cEmoGANs, demonstrates a notable performance surpassing the capabilities of the previous models in comparative evaluations. © 2013 IEEE.

Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a vital industrial chemical and sustainable energy carrier. However, achieving a simple, efficient and cost-effective synthesis under mild conditions remains an important challenge. Here we show that SnSe nanosheets with Sn vacancies can directly catalyse H2O2 production from H2O and O2 under ambient conditions, without additional energy inputs (for example, light and electricity), cocatalysts or sacrificial reagents. This approach achieves an optimal H2O2 production rate of ~2.6 mmol g−1 h−1 at 40 °C and maintains long-term stable production (~0.3 mmol l−1) in a continuous-flow reactor for over 50 h at room temperature. Experimental and theoretical analyses reveal that this unique thermocatalytic effect arises from a dynamic process involving Sn vacancy defect-induced sequential dissociation of H2O and activation of O2 molecules, along with reversible surface restructuring of the SnSe nanosheets to release H2O2. Our findings offer a notably simple, highly efficient and entirely green strategy for H2O2 production, with broader implications in other catalytic reactions involving water activation. Existing graph neural network (GNN) based recommendation models depend highly on initial node features and graph structures. Most prior studies do not support the use of additional information on user-item interactions and adopt a transductive method, which has limitations for actual web service. To overcome these problems, we propose Context-aware Inductive Graph Matrix Completion (CGMC), which utilizes context vectors that represent user-item interactions and user-item bipartite graph structures in an inductive manner. Our method constructs context vectors from the review, timestamp, and rating and uses them as edge features of the user-item bipartite graph. Relations between homogeneous nodes are also constructed based on common neighbors. Our model combines context vectors and relational information using Context-aware Graph Attention Networks and Edge Fusion Graph Convolutional Networks. We conducted extensive experiments using six real-world datasets, and the results show that the proposed model achieves superior performances over other competing models. Furthermore, we analyzed the inductive characteristics of CGMC through the cross-domain transferability. The major disruption of tokamak plasma poses a great threat to safe operation of the device. Future fusion reactors are intolerant of major disruption, so developing control methods are crucial for disruption mitigation. Previous experiments on current-carrying stellarators and hybrid devices have demonstrated the potential for disruption avoidance and suppression of Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) activity on tokamak by introducing increasing levels of rotational transform from stellarator- like helical coils. To explore innovative approaches for optimizing tokamak configurations and combining the strengths of both tokamaks and stellarators, a set of 3D External Rotational Transform (ERT) coil system has been designed and installed in the J-TEXT tokamak. The ERT coil system consists of two helical coils and is installed inside the vacuum vessel. Simulation results, via HINT2 and MIPS, indicate that the application of ERT coils results in hybrid configurations, which lead to non-axisymmetric plasma shapes, modification of the q profile, and improvement in plasma stability. The successfully installation of the ERT coil system on J-TEXT has yielded preliminary experimental results that align with the design objectives. © 2024 50th EPS Conference on Plasma Physics, EPS 2024. Addressing the vulnerability of contact-based keyboard password systems to disclosure,this paper proposes and validates the feasibility of a non-contact secure password system based on brain-computer interface(BCI)technology that detects steady-state visual evoked potential(SSVEP)*** system first lets a testee look at a digital stimulus source flashing at a specific frequency,and uses a wearable dry electrode sensor to collect the SSVEP ***,a canonical correlation analysis method is applied to analyze the frequency of the stimulus source that the testee is looking at,and feeds back a code result through ***,after all password codes are input,the system makes a judgment and provides visual feedback to the *** were conducted to test the accuracy of the system,where twelve stimulus target frequencies between 10-16Hz were selected within the easily recognizable flicker frequency range of human brain,and each of them was tested for 12 *** results demonstrate that this SSVEP-BCI-based system is feasible,achieving an average accuracy rate of 97.2%,and exhibits promising applications in various domains such as financial transactions and identity recognition.

To overcome the intrinsic inefficiency of the von Neumann architecture,neuromorphic devices that perform analog vector–matrix multiplication have been highlighted for achieving power-and time-efficient data *** particular,artificial synapses,of which conductance should be programmed to represent the synaptic weights of the artificial neural network,have been intensively researched to realize neuromorphic ***,inspired by excitatory and inhibitory synapses,we develop an artificial optoelectronic synapse that shows both potentiation and depression characteristics triggered only by optical *** design of the artificial optoelectronic synapse,in which excitatory and inhibitory synaptic phototransistors are serially connected,enables these characteristics by spatiotemporally irradiating the phototransistor channels with optical ***,a negative synaptic weight can be realized without the need for electronic components such as *** such attributes,the artificial optoelectronic synapse is demonstrated to classify three digits with a high recognition rate(98.3%)and perform image preprocessing via analog vector-matrix multiplication.

Considerations on cover factor in carbon fiber preform formation on curved pipe

We are conducting research on producing CFRP using the braiding technique, which is one of the textile technologies. In this report, we propose a calculation method for the cover factor to integrally mold CFRP braided structures onto common curved hollow pipes, which are prone to stress concentration in mechanical structures. The cover factor is an important indicator to prevent voids (hollow spaces) during press molding. For calculating the expanded cell area on the torus surface of the curved pipe, a three-dimensional torus model, we employed a 2D approximation by considering the torus as a continuous thin surface. Using this 2D approximation, we conducted numerical calculations necessary for creating braided structures in curved hollow shapes and carried out actual fabrication based on these calculations. As a result, we compared the expanded cell area calculated using the three-dimensional torus model and the 2D approximation, demonstrating the usefulness of calculating the cover factor using the 2D approximation. We also compared the calculated cover factor from numerical calculations with the measured values obtained from image analysis of the prototype preform, considering the validity of the calculated values. © 2024 The Textile Machinery Society of Japan.
